A Summer House Inn

Bloomington, IN

cynthia of Indianapolis, IN October 7, 2009

We booked room via telephone for the evening of Oct 3 2009 for a class reunion. The reunion staff had secured rooms for the reunion guests. We were given a confirmation number from the male desk clerk. We called back the day of arrival to reconfirm that the reservation was in the system. We were assured again it was. Upon check in the agent, Channing, informed us that we had a 2 night minimum and as such she was billing us. The first we knew of this was upon being handed the paperwork at check in. Keep in mind that they told us upon reservation that there were no rooms available for friday Oct 2nd due to a football game. She beligerently told us that she could not and would not fix and that we would have to wait until monday to speak iwth a manager.

We said we would sign the check in only after the dates and amounts were changed to reflect what we were told and confirmed and that was one night Oct 3, 2009. The clerk, Channing, signed to acknowledge the discrepancy. The check out clerk, Tammy, again told us the manager Chester w or John G would contact us on monday. By 445 no phone call so we called them only to have them vehemently deny any wrong doing and adamantly stated that WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE POLICY, of course it did not matter to them that they failed to tell us not on one but on 2 different occasions.

They charged my card without my authorization and without the physical card for verification. The morning of Oct 4th The check out clerk, Tammy, told us they would correct discuss the error though obviously they had no intention of making any correction. the room smelled of smoke despite a designation of non smoking. I have filed a dispute iwth the BBB of Indiana requesting a refund of 156.79 for the second night which incidently was the friday night they referenced to as being unavailable and I have made a good faith attempt to have them fix their error. If nothing else others who travel should know of their disreputable and unauthorized business practices as well as a rude and confrontational staff.
