Kids II Nursery Rhyme Blocks

Chrystine of Clermont FL writes (10/9/01):
Yesterday I purchased the Kids II Nursery Rhyme Blocks. It is the 9 piece set (development toy) that is rated for ages birth and up. I gave my 9-month-old 3 of the blocks to play with. Within minutes he was choking on a piece of the block that had come off in his mouth.

Fortunately, I was able to clear his airway and retrieve the piece of wood from his mouth. I immediately took all of the blocks from him and will not give them back to him. These are DEFINITELY a teething/choking hazard for children.

This needs to be investigated before someone's baby or toddler dies from choking on pieces of these blocks.

It certainly does and Chrystine should report it promptly to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which has an online complaint form.
