Jessica of Clinton Township MI (01/17/08)
I bought the evenflo exersaucer mega-circus for my son and have had it for about 2 months now. On it there is a lion on a bendy holder and like all kids he chews on toys. As he had this in his mouth the part that keeps the lion on opened and he began to choke on it because it opened. I immediately took it off and replaced it with a different atatachment that does not have the bendy holder. I have not yet contacted the company as it just happened this evening and they are closed. My concern is for others who have this product. The lion is a major choking hazard and so is any of the other additions they have that are similar.

My son was choking on the bendy part that holds the lion.

Antonio of Tarrytown NY (11/01/05)
There are a number of different toys mounted on the top tray of the Exersaucer Mega. One of these toys is a giraffe head that sits on a 6-7 upright flexible wire. On the ears of this giraffe are sharp little bumps (nodules). As I bent down to pick up my daughters juice cup, these bumps poked my eye causing immediate extreme pain.

After being diagnosed by the emergency room with a cornial abrasion I spent a sleepless night in pain. The follow up visit to the doctor  confirmed the cornial abraision and the proper meds were prescribed. All being said, i missed three days of work and suffered three days of extreme constant pain. If this toy caused such an injury to an adult, what could have happened to a 18 month old?

Khaira of Singapore (11/12/03):
Have you ever tried dealing with EVENflo company? They are terrible. They have a customer service webpage that says they answers queries everyday during working hours. It has been two weeks since I have asked for instructions to be delivered to me regarding the exersaucer deluxe plus and have yet to hear from them. In this time and age ( emails and all), I would expect an answer within 3 working days or less. (and to tthink I wrote to them again after one week of lack of response!!)

Teresa of San Diego writes (3/20/02):
My 6 month old son was in a megasaucer by Evenflo. It is a entertainment saucer that a baby sits in and it has toys around the edge for the babys to play with. It has a red wire with a yellow, blue and green bead on it. The wire bends. While playing with it the wire snapped down hard on my sons finger and got stuck. I had to life the wire back to get his finger out.

He was very upset and screamed for a long time. His finger was red and I put ice on it. Later it was slightly bruised.

Susan of Green Bay WI writes (4/1/02):
When my son was around 7 0r 8 months old he had an ultrasaucer from Evenflo and there is a metal bar on the front with numerous toys on it. When when my son got jumping and bouncing in the seat he grabbed the metal bar and it broke off the seat where it connects with platic clips on each end. I contacted the company once and they sent me a replacement bar and then he broke that one soon after we recieved it. So they sent me another.

Well then he broke another toy off that has a metal bar underneath it that holds it in place. It was a small little piano type toy. The metal bar was like 6 inches long and posed as a choking hazard or worse. By now my son was getting too big for the seat and we put it away. I was sick of having to report all these problems to Evenflo

.

Amanda of Long Island City NY writes (1/13/02):
My 4 month old son received Evenflo's Megasaucer as a gift. While playing in it, his finger got caught in one of the toys on the tray. It is a red plastic coated 'wire' with colored beads. The wire is not secured in place and slides back and forth, leaving room for childrens fingers to get stuck.

His finger is bruised, and his nail is purple.

Jayeteanna of Dudley NC writes (4/4/02):
At the age of 6 months my daughter removed the teething ring from her supersaucer. Fortunately I was able to retrieve the stick just before she placed it into her mouth. I have not been able to use this product and it was purchased brand new Nov. 26 and it just happened to be my daughter's favorite toy. At the advice of the instruction booklet it can not be used if it becomes broken.

Scott of Austin TX (9/7/03):
This saucer has several toys that attach on top to play. Some of these toys are elevated with a plastic base which can bend when child grabs them. Once of these toys has 3 sharp edges which poked my daughters eyes several time when she grabbed it. I finally had to remove it.

Follow-up (4/16/02):
After contacting Evenflo 3 times regarding the Supersaucer my problem has not been solved. The safety of my daughter has not been a concern for Evenflo and the customer service I have received has been unsatisfactory. At each of my calls the rep. was very rude and seemed to be placing the blame on my child. Until this incident I have been an avid user of Evenflo products for myself and my children.

I feel that an injustice has been served because Evenflo is not standing by their motto, "World's best baby care". Instead of receiving the replacement part in the 2 week stated period it took almost a month. During this time I did not allow my child to use the Supersaucer because according to the directions the product can not be used if a part is missing or broken.

After receiving the part I then allowed my daughter to play in the supersaucer and once again she was able to remove the teething ring. I contacted Evenflo for the third and final time and I was informed that there was nothing else that could be done.

At this point I am completely frustrated. My child is without her Supersaucer and I have wasted money on a product that she can no longer use without the possibility of hurting herself. As a consumer I am going to be leary of purchasing any other products from Evenflo because I know that they are not customer friendly and that the safety of my child is not in their interest. I am very upset by this situation because children are very important and their safety is in our hands.
