Consumer Complaints

JOHN of HOUSTON , TX November 19, 2009

This company has several affiliates and they keep charging amounts to my Mastercard when they are unauthorized. I have called their toll free numbers and complained. I've talked to Mastercard about them as well. Finally, I canceled my Mastercard number and got a new one. Then all of a sudden another unauthorized payment appears from TLG Greatfn.

Again I complained. I was told TLG great fun would reimburse. But so far they have not. I've notified the Texas State Attorney General also to look into this as well since I've noticed on the internet that this company seems to have a lot of complaints. If an attorney wishes to contact me I would hope it would be by e mail.

Started to take money from my checking account 2 months 13.99 a month

Brian of Houston, TX November 12, 2009

During the past year and a half, TLG*EVRYDAYVAL has charged my credit card 4 different times for 69.99. After looking online, I have found that a lot of people have been scammed by this company. Apparently what they do is send you a check in the mail for around 10. And apparently by receiving the check you are agreeing to become a member of their service.

I called the TLG Company and a lady told me that on Feb 2008, they sent me a check with my Chase credit card bill for around 10 dollars. She also said that by cashing the check, I accepted the agreement to become a member of their Everyday Value "service". I informed the lady that I never cashed any checks that I received with my Chase credit card bill from TLG Everyday Value. I asked her to cancel whatever membership that they had signed me up for, and also to send me prove of me cashing this check. After a couple of attempts by them to sell me additional "service" memberships, she finally gave me a cancellation number.

I'm currently trying to work with my Credit card money to be reimbursed for the charges the company made to my credit card.

Ann of Santa Fe, NM October 27, 2009

In March 2009, I received an offer for Trilegiant Complete Home with my monthly bank statement from Bank of America. The offer was to sign up for the program and receive a 40 gift card. My account would not be charged if I canceled within 30 days of receiving membership materials. When I received my card, I canceled the service and was not charged for Complete Home.

This month while reviewing my statement, I noticed a charge for Trilegiant's Buyer's Advantage. I did not sign up for this service, did not receive any membership materials, nor the 40 gift card that customer service claimed was sent to me. I have been charged 13.99/month since April 2009.

Customer service canceled my account but claimed they could only refund one month's charge. I filed a dispute of charges with my bank, but they could only go back to Sept 09 (two additional months)--and there's no guarantee that the dispute will be accepted.

I explained to them that I never received membership materials or the 40 giftcard for signing up for their "service." They tried to make it sound like it was my fault for not properly reviewing my bank statement and catching their charges. Even if I had signed up for their service, how would I have been able to take advantage of this program when I received no information about what the program even offers?

I spoke with Alita at Complete Home to find out if there was some way they may have shared my account information with this other Trilegiant company (which she said was impossible). I imagine that Trilegiant must have shared my personal bank information across its service agencies. 13.99/month * 6 months = 83.94 I am a full time student who receives loans and works retail to try to make ends meet. I can't afford any extraneous charges, especially ones that offer me no benefit whatsoever.

JEANETTE of EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ October 14, 2009

I recently noticed a charge to my checking account for 11.99 from "great Fun CT" After further investigation I realized these charges were being charges to my checking account on a monthly basis starting Dec. of 08. I called my bank who gave me the phone number for this company. I spoke with Drew I who explained to me that I signed up for a membership with this company in Oct. of 08. He cancelled my account - cancellation #, but after explaining to him I never signed up for any memberships with that company he transferred me to Tiffany W. She said she had proof I authorized these payments and would mail me the documentation. I asked she fax me documentation, but she said she has no access to a fax machine and it would have to be mailed.

After further research about this company I found many many complaints have been filed against them for the very same reason, and there was even a settlement for millions of dollars. I would like my 131.89 back from this company. I would never authorize any automatic withdrawals from my account for any company let alone one I never heard of. Also, I never once got any information about my membership all while they were charging my account.

gary of joshua, TX October 3, 2009

there was an automated debit made to my acccount. it wasn't much it was just irratating. i spent acoupleof hours on the phone trying to geta cacelation number for a membership i never signed up for. they said they wereendorsed by wells fargo and it was a justified debit. i went to my wachovia branch and tried to straighten it out.the kid behind the desk at customer service was nohelp at all,and did nottry to get someone who could. because he did not like my tone of voice after ileft the bank he took it upon himself to close my acccount and fedex a check for my balance. now i cannot pay my bills on line or anything until i receive the check and take a day off to open another account.

Julie of Salt Lake City, UT October 1, 2009

I unknowingly became a subscriber to TLG's Macy's Hot-Line credit protection program. Embarrassingly, I don't know when this subscription even started to show up on my Macy's card. I cancelled my Macy's account in 9/06 due to my lack of use, but also in the hopes that it would stop this automatic yearly charge. I can't remember if I tried to contact TLG before cancelling my card or not.

Since that time, I've had negative reports sent to the credit bureau's by Macy's for past due balances on this NEVER AUTHORIZED and PROTESTED charge made to my CLOSED account. emotional distress-considering my husband and I mourned the entire first night our Rocky was in the ER and over 1400 in vet bills so far. When I talk to Macy's. They are always VERY happy to remove their late fees etc and I pay the original charges made by TLG since they began charging me... probably my only tangible damage.

Macy's representatives tell me they will not block future charges on the account I no longer have with them (clearly just my perspective)and direct me to cancel with the Hot-Line program itself. I have tried for three years at least. The cancel magically doesn't happen. I can't even get through to someone with the ability to cancel. This year, the number Macy's provided is "no longer in service." I am unable to find a number to cancel my subscription anywhere, and frankly don't believe canceling is possible without litigation. Please help!

I am happy to give time and possibly to a lawsuit (class action or otherwise) against this company and/or it's Macy's Hot-Line program (and/or Macy's itself for getting and STAYING in bed with this devil). PLEASE CALL/EMAIL ME! Economically: to the best of my knowledge 34.95 x number of years they been charging me, and possibly some late fees or interest charges. Physically - a yearly PIA x at least 3 years, but I'm not expecting much dough for that.

Paul of West Palm Beach, FL September 24, 2009

My aunt, who is almost 90 years old, received an unsolicited letter from the above company who claim to have lost the information that she allegedly sent previously. They go on to say that they have "cancelled your Identity Theft Protection membership" as a result of this, but that "if you wish to re-enroll in the service" to re-send the following information: Your Social Security Number Your Date of Birth Your Signature They include a form for this purpose.

My aunt states most catagorically that she never requested a credit report from any agency, and that she never sent any information to this company. Surely attemting to obtain someone's sensitive personal information by this method constitutes mail fraud?

Diana of MCALLEN, TX September 23, 2009

All the info you need about this group of shameless billionare scammers (addresses, phones, history, websites, affiliates, personnel and directors names and associations, etc) is on the official BBB (Best Business Bureau) website

Hannah of Chicago, IL September 20, 2009

Our credit card was charged 149.99 completely unauthorized. We have no idea why and from my google searches it could have been airline tickets, movie tickets, rental car or any one of a number of things. I do not understand why they can continue to do this if they've had so many class action lawsuits against. They just settle and continue to operate.
