Tips for Shopping by Mail

You may know this company by its former name -- J.D. Marvel. Other than the name, everything else seems pretty familiar. In fact, the New York State Consumer Protection Board thinks it all seems a little too familiar.

Kilie of Klamath Falls OR (03/11/08)
I ordered (2) lace filly bras September 10, 2007 and sent a check for $13.85. The check has cleared my bank, and they have my money; but I have never received any merchandise. I want my money back. Why is nothing being done about this company or person perpetrating this fraud?

I am out my $13.85. I go to a real job and have to earn this money--and had to put out more money for other bras. That's $13.85 that I could have bought groceries with or paid on another bill, if I would have know this company and person are a THIEVES.

Diana of Trenton NE (02/25/08)
I ordered 5 pairs of Geniune Suede Mocacasins on 11-15-07 with check for $41.00. The check has not cleared my account as of today but I have not received any merchandise either. The ad said allow 4-6 weeks for delivery-I think I have given adequate time since it is now 3 1/2 months since placing the order. I have read some of the other stories on this outfit and I agree-A REAL FLY BY NIGHT GAME!! Has taught me a lesson to never order from this again. Thank you for your assistance.

I can afford the $41.00 but I figure I have to go to work every day to make this money and don't really expect to be ripped off. It takes me a full day of work to clear the $41.00 that I have sent in good faith expecting the product to be mailed to me. Just a very disgusting form of fraud!! Too bad some of us still think that there are honest people in the world and expect them to treat us as we treat them! With Honesty!

Jodie of Vansant VA (02/18/08)
My mother ordered a set of hearing aids from Save By Mail. She received the product but was not satisfied with the performance and poor quality of the hearing aids, so(being a trusting person), she mailed the item back to Save By Mail. She insured the package with USPS. She has since sent several letters of inquiry to Save By Mail but has not received a refund nor any acknowledgement of the return nor her letters. This happened in April 2007. I don't believe that she can file a claim with USPS unless the company states that they did not receive the package. How can she get a response from this less than favorable company?? Are there any other actions that she can take to retrieve her money?

She lost a small amount. I believe it was around 35-40 dollars which to my mother, who lives on a fixed income, would be a significant loss.

Thomas of St. Louis MO (11/29/07)
I ordered 2 owls from Save By Mail, Inc. and sent my payment along with order. They cashed the check and payment was made to the company, but I have not received anything (merchandise or acknowledgement) from the company. The check was cashed in August, and this is Nov. 28, 2007. I am out $26.90 with no sign of any merchandise on its way.

Sue of Crossville TN (10/16/07)
I ordered 2 bras for $13.86 on 7/5/07. I e-mailed them once without response or my bras. The chack has been cashed, so I would like a refund or the bras.

Cheryl L Girard of Sioux City IA (07/24/07)
Last March I ordered two lace bras and never got them but the check was cashed and he took my money. SHAME ON YOU JOHN DRAGAN. Or who ever you are. I hope you shoved that money up your A**.

Joseph of Chestertown MD (07/22/07)

The MagniEar hearing device my father ordered and received from Save by Mail was of no use, so I mailed it back with a request for a refund of $16.90. I did not include the sales receipt they requested because they had included none with the product. We have heard nothing from them.

Andrew of Ormond Beach FL (07/06/07)

On May 1, 2007, I ordered a Sensational Mini Ear for my elderly Mother. They cashed the check on May 10, 2007 and I have yet to receive the product. I sent them a letter of complaint on June 22, 2007 and have yet to hear back from them. I can find no phone number, e-mail or street address for this company. I wish I had found this site before sending the money. I see dozens of people have had the same experience. How does a company get away with doing this for this long?

Laura of Cooperstown NY (06/28/07)

On February 27, 2007 I ordered two frilly lace beauty bras and sent a money order in the amount of $13.85. To date I have not received the bras.

Vicky of Garnett KS (06/05/07)

I ordered two bras for 19.99 and sent a check for 23.95 on the 23 of March. The check has been cashed and as of June 4th have not received anything.

Carol of Grants Pass OR (06/04/07)

I ordered two bras for my mother on 3/22/07. They cashed the check and my mother has not gotten her bras. I have no information on them because the part you send in from the add has it all on there and the rest of the add says zip as far as address goes. Why isn't something being done?

Martha of Allardt TN (05/23/07)

Ordered merchandise and sent check for 23.95 on March 6,2007. Check has been cashed and cleared by my bank and I still do not have merchandise ordered. 4 bras. Have not received any acknowledgement from Save by Mail or notice of back order.

Nancy of Cecil WI (05/19/07)

On March 28th, 2007, I ordered 2 bras for $13.85. The Save By Mail ad stated the shipment of the order would be in 6 to 8 weeks. My check cleared my bank on 4/9/07, and I have yet to receive my order.

Helen of Fairfield CA (05/10/07)

On March 2, 2007 I ordered 2 bras from Save By Mail from an ad in the American Profile Magazine of our daily newspaper. I sent a check for $13.85, which was cashed. To date no word has been received regarding the purchase.

Sherry Korus of Denhoff ND (05/07/07)
I ordered 2 Frilly Lace Beauty Bra's on March 8th. Check cleared but still no merchandise two months later. I read the complaints and hope you start prosecuting these people.

These were for my mother who is on a fixed income.

Douglas of Colorado Spgs, CO (04/28/07)
On 3/9/07, I mailed a $11.64 check for a pair of house slippers. The check cleared my bank on 3/19/07, so they wasted no time in cashing it.

I have yet to receive the merchandise.  I have sent a letter, no response.  It is not so much the amount of money, but more the fact that this company appears to continue to operate with no intention of sending merchandise.

Jean of Shelbyville IL (04/27/07)

Around March 1, I ordered two bras from Save by Mail. As yet, I have not received my order but my check has cleared the bank. I am a senior on a fixed income and do not have money just to donate to this company.

Kay of Waverly, IA (04/26/0
I ordered (2) Frilly Lace Beauty Bras for $9.90 plus shipping, totaling $13.95 on March 5th, 2007.  It is now April 26th and I have yet to receive my order .  My check was cashed.

I only wish I had checked out the complaints before I ordered from this company.  As a senior citizen on a fixed income, $13.95 DOES make a difference.

Rita of Shelburne Falls MA (04/19/07)

On March 7 I sent a check for $18.95 for two pairs of slippers plus shipping. It was cashed on March 19. I have never received the slippers.

Sue of London WV (04/17/07)

I ordered bras for $13.85 from Save By Mail in early March 2007. The check cleared my bank on 3/19/07. I have not received the items as of 4/17/07.

Judith of Woodriver IL (04/12/07)

I ordered a Mini Ear in February and still have NOT received it. I want either the merchandise or a complete refund.

T. of Pearcy AR (03/31/07)
Talk about JUNK!!! I ordered the air cuchions in January. They finally arrived today (3-31-07)....THEY LEAK!  We are retired and live on social security. How can they sleep at night?

Shirley of Waynesboro PA (03/31/07)
I ordered two pair of slippers on March 7, 2007 and to date I have not received them. I mailed them a check in the amount of $18.95 check # 2259. I called the bank and the check was cashed. I went in on the computer and found this article about them being a dead beat company. I live on a fixed income and every cent counts.

Manuel  of Silver Spring MD (03/31/07)
On March 8, 2007 I sent them a check in the amount of $ 18.95 to cover the cost of 2 pairs of Fleece-lined Soft Suede Leather Slippers and shipping cost and I have not received them yet. The add on the paper listed Customer Services e-mail address as: savebymail@bellnet.ca but it is not available anymore. If this is a scam, they should be prosecuted.

I am retired and my income in limited to my Social Security check

Carol of Lakefield MN (03/29/07)

On March 5th 2007, I ordered 3 pair of slippers, and have not received them.

Dean of Oroville WA (03/26/07)
I ordered 2 of the comfort air support cushion's and have not received them as of yet. I sent them a check for $18.45 on the 2nd of Febuary and they have cashed it and did so before the 8th of Febuary. I have not received them or a letter about them. I live on a fixed income and can not affore to loose my money like that. I would like my product or my money back. I can not even e-mail them because the e-mail address is not real I guess. And no phone no.

Rosemary of San Juan TX (03/26/07)
I just received a letter last week finally stating that the mocassins I orderred had been backed orderred and they were not shipped until March 2nd. I had orderred them on January 15 and the check was cashed on the 23rd of Jan. I understand that it isn't quite 4 weeks but have doubts I am going to receive anything.

Been waiting for 3 months and still have not received product that I paid for in good faith. I think I have been patient enough.

Cathy of Humboldt, AZ (03/24/07)

I ordered two pairs of their moccasins in Jan.07 and paid with a check for a total of $18.95. It is now the end of March and I still haven't received my order. After reading the complaints of others that have not gotten their orders or did and they were junk, it really makes me furious that this company has no respect for the hard working people that are trying to make their life a little simpler. Something really needs to be done about this.

Jay of Kingman AZ (03/21/07)
In Feb.07, I ordered one of their air-inflatable cushion chairs; to date I have not received it; I wrote to them recently, and still have not received either a reply or the mdse; the total was $11.44. I am not working, but my husband supports me, and I don't think it is right for companies to do this,he works hard for this money. I have a bad back from an auto-accident and thought these cushions would help me, plus $11 is money I could use to help pay or bill or food money.

James of Billings MT (03/18/07)

Order two pairs of moccasins, one lady and one man’s. The order went out 1/8/07. We just today, 3/16/07, received the ladies pair; it is the wrong color and is basically junk. We have not seen the men’s pair as of yet. We can not afford to lose money this way.

Marilyn of Crockett TX (03/15/07)

I ordered two pair of moccasins on 1-16-07. The check cleared right away, but it’s been two months and I have still never received the moccasins.

Alice of Chappell NE (03/15/07)

I ordered two pair of moccasins leather comfort with whip stitched uppers. The check was for $18.95. I received 1 pair of ugly beige slip on, open back slippers that aren't anything like the picture or what I want to wear. There was no invoice with the package and I haven't received anything else in the mail as to paperwork. I could try to send them back but am unsure where and to whom so I looked it up on the net and found your website. Not what I wanted to hear. I'm out $18.95 & I have a pair of slippers that are junk and I can’t wear them!

Francesof Duncan OK (03/14/07)
Order with check sent on 1/19/07 for three pair of mocassins. Check cashed at my bank on 1/29/07 but never received my merchandise. Where is the justice for a 70 year old woman on a very limited income. Forgot to print off order form which had some sort of address. Now I am unable to locate one on the web. I just want others not to be duped into falling into the same scam. Old folks seem like they are the targets of these sort of people. I know that I have learned several lessons from this experience.

Frances of Duncan OK (03/14/07)

I ordered three pair of moccasins from an ad in our local paper. They cashed my check on 1/29/07 and I have never received the merchandise. The amount of my check was $25.95 and since I am on a limited income, I now know that I would have been much better served if I had traded locally. I just hate to see Save By Mail, Inc get away with false advertising and taking people's money and furnishing no product.

Edith of Pittsburgh PA (03/12/07)
I had ordered an Air Support Cushion early in Januay of 2007. My check was cashed on 1/21/2007. As of today 3/12/2007 I still have not received my merchandise. They say you can call or email about your order. I called 3/12/2007 and got a recording stating that I would have a return call within 48 hours. Now I will wait to see if I get a return call. I have dealt with mail orders quite often and have never had an experience like this.

Rosemary of San Juan TX (03/12/07)
I ordered one red pair of moccasins in Ladies size 9 and a brownn pair of men's size 11 on the 11th of January. The 23rd of January my check was cashed by the bank. As of the 12th of March I still have not received the moccasins and just found these websites after trying to get imformation on Save by Mail several other times and had no information till I came across another advertisement as when you order there is no address or imformation left when you send in the order form. I felt safe since the ad was in a senior paper but guess that was not true.

My husband is disabled and finding slippers and shoes are extremely difficult and now I still don't have slippers for him. We are both retired.

Robert of Jacksonville NC (03/12/07)

I ordered 2 "comfort air support cushions," for $18.45. The check was cashed on 2-26-07 and I haven't received the product, nor can I find a web site to contact them.

Ed of Powell WY (03/10/07)

On January 10th, 2007, we ordered 2 pair of the Genuine Suede Moccasins. The check was cashed and returned to our bank. We have not heard from Save by Mail and we haven’t received any Moccasins.

Candi of Hastings NE (03/09/07)

I ordered a pair of suede moccasins from Save by Mail on January 10, 2007. The check was cashed a long time ago but I have not received the moccasins. I paid $7.69 plus $3.95 shipping.

Velma of Portland IN (03/06/07)

Mailed a check on October 1, 2006 in the amount of $18.45 for the purchase of a comfort air support cushion with lumbar support. I still have not received the merchandise and it is now March 6, 2007. This is totally ridiculous!

Judy of Chadbourn, NC (03/05/07)
Ordered Genuine Moccasins on 1-16-07.  I got check back in a week, but have not seen the shoes.

I think they should non cheat people like that.

Annamay of Norwalk CT (03/04/07)

I ordered 2 air support car cushions and paid $18.45 and never received anything and my check was cashed. I am on a limited income and cannot afford even this little amount to be scammed from me.

Rebecca of Charlestown,NH (03/03/07)
I sent a check for $11.44 for a chair cushion.  I mailed 1/29/2007, they cashed it on 2/12/2007, and it is now 3/3/2007. I have not received any word or merchandise.

I have sent away for a variety of items from ads and have never had an incident like this happen before.

Susan of Lakeside MT (02/21/07)

We ordered 2 pair of "Genuine Suede Moccasins" - one men's pair and one lady's pair for a total of $18.95. We received the men's pair today. It was not only a totally different and bizarre kind of slipper, but was also the wrong color. We have yet to receive the other pair. There was no packing slip or other information enclosed that comes with other reputable companies that do mail orders. I am totally disgusted that this company has taken so much money from trusting people.

Maxine of Elizabethton, TN (02/18/07)
I ordered merchandise (house slippers) just after Christmas of '06.  My check was promptly cashed. Merchandise has yet to be delivered.

Todd  of Dickinson ND (02/15/07)

I sent a check for a pair of mens moccasins. The check was cashed but I never received the moccassins.

Ruth of Willington CT (02/15/07)

I ordered a pair of "Genuine Suede Moccasins" in December, 2006. Today I received some other sort of slipper that is totally unacceptable. There were no packing materials included. I am not out a lot of money, but if they did not have when they advertised and what I ordered, they should not have substituted something that isn't anything like the original product.

Brenda of Paris AR (01/30/07)
on 12/01/06 I sent a check to Save By Mail,Inc for 13.85 for 2 bras...My check cleared my bank on 12/15/06....I have NOT received my bra's as of this date 1/30/07..I've waited my 4-6 weeks, plus a few more and the only thing I have received is canceled check from my bank.. This is the THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA if we all unite maybe something will be done about the people and companies that take advantage of the HONEST people in this country....In God We Trust....Not save by mail....No more mail ordering for this gal...It's a shame the honest mail order companies have to suffer because of save by mail...(this was my first time to order by mail and my last).

Betty of Holly Springs MS (01/30/07)
On 12/07/06, I ordered two sets of Frilly Lace Beauty Bras out of a magazinein our local newspaper, sending a check for $19.00 plus $4.95 for s&h making a toal of $23.95. I received one set 01/24/07. The set I didn't receive was a gift for my daughter. I would like to have the other set or a refund. I am also a senior on a fixed income. This is why I ordered from the magazine, otherwise I would have gone to the store and purchased these items. I have learned a lesson, don't order from magazines, which makes it tough on the legitimate companies.

Marjorie of Willow Creek CA (01/27/07)
On October 5th, I sent a check, in the amount of $18.95, to save by mail for two pairs of moccasins. oone brown pair and one black pair. On October 13th my check was cashed. December 6th, the brown pair of moccasins finally arrived at my p.o.box. I have been waiting since then for the black pair to arrive. Today is January 27th, 2007, and they have still not arrived. I am going to be 87 years old this year, and cannot afford to be cheated out of any amount of money.

The money that this company has kept, without sending my merchandise, could have been better spent on something important.

Sandi of Blackfoot, ID (01/25/07)
I ordered 4 bras on 12-5-06. The bank cashed my check on 12-15-06. To date have not received my purchase.

Pam of The Villages FL (01/18/07)
I ordered 2sets of Frilly Lace Beauty Bras for $19.00+shipping on 11/27/2006. The ad was in the Sun. newspaper mag. section. My check cleared on 12/11/2006 and as of 01/18/2007 I have not received my merchandise. I sent a register letter to Save By Mail,Inc. on 01/16/2007 asking for my money back or fill the order.

I ditto what another consumer said-It always disappoints me when anyone sets out to deceive. This is shameful to say the least.I did go on the net about 4wks after I placed my order. A nice webpage came up for Save By Mail,Inc. & thought ok; but after 7wks when I had not received my merchandise I went back on the web and what came up was consumeraffairs.com with complaints about Save By Mail, Inc.& I knew I would not get my money back or my merchandise. So I filed this complaint

Carla of Orrtanna PA (01/17/07)
Update to complaint filed 1/13/07: On 1/16/07, my mother finally received the hearing aids that she ordered in November 2006.

Pauline of Aitkin, MN (01/16/07)
In 12/8/06 I ordered, by check, air support cushins.  I have received nothing and now find this is a repeated scam.

Don't you think it is time the justice system stops slapping him on the wrist? How about some long jail time to maybe get his attention.

Nelda of Midland, TX (01/15/07)
I ordered an air pillow for my back from Save by mail on December 7, 2006. My check was cashed, but I have received nothing and notice the owner of the company was charged with Fraud in Canada.

Eula of Hanceville, AL (01/14/07)
On December 7th, I ordered a cushion and haven't heard a word from the company OR received the cushion.

I'm out $11.44 and I didn't get the cushion that I was hoping would make my back feel better after my surgery.

Betty of Conway, AR (01/13/07)
I ordered 2 bras on 11/28/06. The ad was in the Sun. newspsper mag section. The cost was $9.90 plus $3.95 shipping. They cashed my check, it has cleared the bank.

It always disappoints me when anyone sets out to deceive. I've been in business and this is shameful of a company. I should have looked them up on the net before I ordered. I will in the future.

Carla of Orrtanna PA (01/13/07)
My mother (77 yrs old) paid for 2 hearing aids but has not received them. Her check, in the amount of $28.95, cleared her bank on 11/22/06. I understand this company is actually located in Canada, not New York where she sent the check.

Bobbie of Robbinsville NC (01/12/07)
On 12/5/06 I sent a check in the amount of $118.95 for 6 sets of bars. I have not recieved the product or have not heard from the company. I can not find any info on them. I would like to get what I ordered or my moneyback.

Paul of Aptos CA (01/11/07)
Sent a check to Save By Mail dated Dec.8, 2006. Have not received item. I have sent an e-mail to Save By Mail - savebymail@bellnet.ca - on January 11, 2007I hope to hear from them soon.

I am out the money ($11.44) or the item.

Barbara of Creston IA (01/11/07)
I ordered 2 bras, size 34C. I sent my check for $13.85 on November 27, 2006. The check cleared by account on December 11, 2006. I have not received my merchandise, and this is January 11, 2007.

Deborah  of Portola CA (01/10/07)
I have filed a complaint on behalf of a senior citizen who was clearly a innocent victim of Save By Mail. Why are the ads still running in the local newspapers? This is a crime especially when it involves seniors on a fixed income.

Colleen of Stillwater NY (01/08/07)
My parents ordered two lumbar support cushions from this company through a magazine order form. Their check for $18.45 was cashed but no items have been received as of this date. It has been over a month. My parents are retired and on a fixed budget and lets face it, nobody likes to be ripped off. I think it hurts people of this generation emotionally more than anyting else to accept the dishonesty of people today.

Sharon of Brooksville, FL (01/07/07)
I ordered two ear aids in november and did not get them, but they cashed my check .

Maurice of Suisun CA (01/05/07)
I ordered Three Magnetic bracelets on 11/3/2006 for $27.00, Check was cashed on 11/16/06. I received only one bracelet on 1/03/2007.

Joyce of Prescott AZ (01/05/07)
Ordered on 12/6/06 (3)Comfort Air Support Cushions @ $7.49 each for a total of $24.95. Have not received the order nor have I received any confirmation of them being sent. The check for the order was posted 12/15/06.

Retired persons on a fixed income, so this hurts...........also out 3 Christmas presents!

Dorothy of Johannesburg, MI (01/04/07)
I sent a check for $28.95 on 11/14/06 for a pair of hearing aids for my 82 year old mother. On 11/27/06 SaveByMail cashed my check and I have still not received the hearing aids.  The address is from New York so I thought I was dealing with a US based business.

I'm out $28.95 and my Mother will not get her hearing aids. I can't afford to buy her good ones and she can't afford it either as she is on a limited income on social security.

Steve of Rathdrum ID (01/03/07)
After several months and having written the company, I still did not have a refund or the two pairs of moccasins that I ordered. I contacted the Buffalo Better Business Bureau and now have received one pair followed a month later with a refund check for the other pair. Thank you BBB!

C.e. of Detroit MI (12/28/06)
I  sent check (28.95) for two hearing aids nov 11 2006. to p.o.in N Y.. The check was cashed on 11\27\06. I have not received any hearing aids or any word as promised.

Nancy of Harrells NC (12/27/06)

Paul of The Villages FL (12/22/06)
I sent in a check for two magnetic bracelts and only recieved one.

They owe me one double coil bangle najima bracelet @$9.95 and no shipping charge.

Jennifer of Ft. Worth, TX (12/21/06)
I ordered (2) mechanical owls for my mother's garden $22.95 and never received them.   The order date was 11/17/06.  Now, I have no way to contact them or get my $ back.

Rosalio of Paris TX (12/21/06)
I ordered 3 hearing aids, thru my father-in-law and the money order has been cashed and cleared, but no merchandise has ever been received. It's been over a month now. I just found this website and the problems others have faced. So now i see that they are the old JD Marvel. With no phone number to call, I am at a loss.

I still can't hear that well, and neither can my in-law who was going to receive 2 of the 3 hearing aids. I spent $40+ for them. What to do?

Felicia  Bath PA (12/21/06)
Ordered original Najima bracelet for $12.90. Sent check # 435 11/3/06. Check was cashed 11/10/06. As of 12/20/06 I have not received the product. I'm a senior citizen, living on a low income and like other seniors I can't afford a loss of any sort.

Eleanor of Earlsboro OK (12/18/06)
I ordered 2 pair of Moccasins for $7.49 each and they cashed the check and never sent the products. I am on social security and this is not fair to the seniors out there that try to do good by their money.

William of Pueblo, CO (12/16/06)
My wife ordered a pair of womens slippers.  The total on the check was $11.64.  We sent the check 11/04/06 and they cashed it 11/16/06.

We are on social security and every dollar counts.  If this company could be forced to repay or ship product then we could believe in old fashion justice.

Gregg of Colorado Springs CO (12/15/06)
I placed an order for mini hearing aids and batteries for a total amount of $26.85. My check was dated November 28, 2006 and cashed by them on December 10, 2006 our of Cincinnati OH. The account number on my returned check is SAVE BY MAIL 004831529688. It is now December 15, 2006 and I have still not seen any merchandise of information. I too would like to file a complaint against this company and or person. How can we stop this? Any way of getting money returned? Thanks for your interest and possible help.

Not much money lost, but if this is happening to several people, it adds up big time.

Diane of Reseda CA (12/13/06)
Sent check for $13.90 on 11/15/06 for one battery-opperated screech owl. The check was cashed on 11/30/06. I have never received the merchandise.

Barbara of Franklin PA (12/13/06)
I ordered 2 magnetic bracelets in November. My check was cashed but I did not receive the bracelets. I ordered these items as christmas presents. The total cost was 19.95. So I am out the money plus the gifts.

Carol of Mequon, WI (12/11/06)
I ordered two pairs of slippers, one for woman and one for man, for a total of $18.95. This was done Oct.16/06.

I have received the women's 12/9/06 but not the man's. No return address or a phone number to call or send back women's slippers (wrong fit) or ask about missing man's pair.

Mary of Burbank, CA (12/07/06)
I saw an ad for hooting owls to scare away pigeons for $9.00 each. I ordered 3 in October 2006.  Save By Mail cashed my check in November and I still have not received my merchandise.

Edna of Morrow AR (12/06/06)

Vivian of Meadowlands MN (12/03/06)
I ordered two pairs of moccasin slippers and paid 18.95 and never heard from them. I did find a phone number and was told that they would take six weeks to deliver...they never were delivered!! Also a friend said that she ordered two pair two years ago and did not receive them either.

Joanne of Monroe, MI (11/29/06)
I ordered 2 pair of slippers on 10/05/2006 for $18.95 and as of 11/29/2006 I have not recieved my product or a refund.

John of Carbondale, PA (11/29/06)
I sent for an animated screech owl on 11/2/06.  I have not received it but they cashed my check for $13.90 on 11/13/06.

I wanted this for a friend who collects owls, unfortunately it is too late to give as a birthday gift - maybe in time for Christmas????

Billie of Washburn MO (11/28/06)
We orded the air support cushion with lumbar support. When we got them , they were not like the ones in the ad. On Oct.13,2006 we send them back to them. When I call the Post office , they had been pick up. We ask for our money back ,but have not hear from them. The price for two was 14.50 + 3.95 handing for a total of 18.45 . It cost us 8.05 to send them back , so we are out 26.50. W are on our Social Security and this is a lot of money for us.

Jane of Hawthorne NJ (11/28/06)
I ordered 2 (two) pair mocassins on October 12 2006 the check was cashed on October 20 2006. I have never received the items

H. D.  of Colville, WA (11/28/06)
I ordered 3 pairs of slippers. My check was quickly cashed, but I have received nothing from the company. The check was for $25.95, so it isn't a LOT of money, but still, it's the principle of it.

Does our U.S.P.S. have any jurisdiction over a Canadian company that uses a P.O. box in the U.S.A.?

Frances of Chattanooga TN (11/24/06)
On October 4, 2006, my mother mailed a check to this company for some mocassins. The check was deposited October 16 and she has never received her merchandise. The amount was $11.64.

My mother is on a fixed income and can't afford to lose ANY money.

Julia of Gray GA (11/20/06)
I bought the Comfort Air Support Cushion back on October 11, 2006 and as of today, I have not received it. I did not keep a copy of their address, so I don't know what it is. I read it was formally J.D. Marvel out of Canada. I have a feeling like the others I read about online, I will not get it.

Michael of Wallingford CT (11/14/06)
Sent a Check for $21.95 to Save by Mail Inc., for a item to scare Woodpeckers, they cashed my check on 10/26/2006 and I never received the item. I don't have any way to contact them, what can I do about this.

Verlene Shada of Plymouth NE (11/12/06)
My mother ordered a pair of slippers for $11.64 on Sept. 18, 2006. They cashed the check on Sept. 29th and she has not received the slippers. She asked me to check into it for her and it's obvious from other similar letters that she has been taken.

My parents are on a fixed income and cannot afford to lose money in this way.

B. of Independence, MO (11/11/06)
I responded to an insert in a Kansas newspaper that typically has different ads - including recipes. I ordered 3 pairs of women's suede mocs in three different colors (black, brown, and blue). Each pair was $7.00 with $5.00 for shipping. The total of my check was $26.00. These were ordered around 10/1/06 and nothing has been received from this company. According to my bank, the check was cashed on 10/16.

I live on a very fixed income and this was a lot of money for me to spend, but I thought the shoes would be good.

Bonnie of Newfolden MN (11/10/06)
I ordered 3 pairs of moccassins from them on 9-16-06. I have received 1 pair of poor quality and have not received the other 2 pairs. As I didn't have an address to write to I looked for a website and found your report on the company.I found this ad in the AARP magazine. Can you help inform AARP about this matter? I don't want other senior citizens to be took also. I just want something done to protect others from this company.

I have only lost about $30 and the moccassins that were meant to be gift and I never recieved.

Jill of Brownville, NY (11/09/06)
I ordered a pair of moccasins. My check was cashed quickly but we still have not received the slippers.

Karen of Canon City, CO (11/08/06)
I ordered a pair of suede slippers for $11.64 for my husband's anniversary present on Oct 6, 2006. The check was cashed on Oct 18 and as of today I have not received the slippers. I went online to see if the company had a telephone number and discovered that this company is not fullfilling many of it's orders.

I now wonder if it is safe to order through the mail from anyone.

Alice of Warwick ,NY (11/04/06)
I sent a check for $11.64 on Oct.4th for Suede Moccasins. My check was cashed on Oct.16 but I have not received them .

I found another ad from them in the paper, found the address but no phone number.

Carolynn of Bella Vista, AR (11/03/06)
Like apparently so many others, I ordered an air cushion for $11.44.  My check has been cashed but no cushion sent.

I never order products from the Sunday paper magazine but this look beneficial. Please add my complaint to the growing list.

Christine of Ross CA (10/31/06)
I ordered an Animated Screech Owl for $14.00 and my check was promptly cashed, on September 12, but it is now October 30, and I have received no Owl.

Louise of Sarasota, FL (10/29/06)
I ordered an air cushion for $11.44 and my check was cashed. I have not received anything from them and I am certain I never will. It was advertised in my Sunday paper and I have watched every week for another so I could get address etc. but nothing is ever there.

Julia of Sioux City IA (10/25/06)
My Mother in law orders 2 pair of slippers in Sept. The check was cashed quickly but no slippers so she asked me to look them up today. Unfortunately I see she was scammed. She is on a limited income so this bad even though the amount of money wasn't that much. Hopefully something can be done and we will report the company.

Theda of Portola, CA (10/24/06)
I ordered 6 pairs of Genuine Suede Moccasins by mail. Each pair for $7.69. I mailed a money order with my order. The money order was cashed immediately but I have yet to receive the shoes. Total $47.95.

Richard of Racine, WI (10/24/06)
I ordered a pair of slippers on 9/18/06 for $11.64. To date (10/24/06) no slippers, no response, no nuttin.

Guess I have been taken.

Richard  of Racine WI (10/24/06)
I ordered a pair of slippers on 9/18/06 for $11.64. To date (10/24/06) no slippers, no response, no nuttin. Guess I have been taken.

Beverly of Mt. Vision NY (10/22/06)
My check to 'Save by Mail' Sept. 13, 2006 has been cashed but I have not rec'd the merchandise (slippers) nor an explanation from them as to reason for delay. Have read numerous complaints on-line from people (mostly seniors) who have been *taken* by this scam. Is there no recourse re such action ??

Economic/physical damage done - None! Abt $12.00 will not upset my life in any way but, in my estimation it does not make the criminal acts of this company acceptable. The cumulative sum of money taken in by this scam is nothing short of Grand Larceny

Barbara of Jermyn PA (10/22/06)
I ordered a Comfort Air Support Cushion from then on 09/24/06 in the amount of $7.49 with shipping and have never gotten my order. They cashed my check but never sent the item. I have sent them letters but have not gotten any response.

I know it was a small amount but I have had no luck with anything else helping my low back when I work and the cushion looked like a lifesaver to me.

Jean of Livingston TX (10/22/06)
On 9-13-06 I ordered 2 pairs of slippers from the above company. They were 2 prs. for $15.00 plus $3.95 shipping and handling. The check was cashed and cleared our bank account on 9-27-06. The slippers have not been received. When I checked on the web I discovered I was not alone. Another scam. The lesson was not really expensive but it is aggravating to have someone take advantage of you.

Linda of Littleton, NH (10/19/06)
I mailed in a coupon for a lumbar cushion.  My check was sent on 09/6/06 and has been cashed, yet I received nothing.

I thought this cushion would help my back and arthritis problems.  This was only $11.44, but to me that is a week's groceries.

Ivan of Stanton ND (10/19/06)
Ordered two pair of moccasins on September 14,2006 and my check was cashed on September 28,2006. I failed to keep a copy of the address but it seems I've been ripped off.  We're senior citizens and count our pennies. It's disheartening to realize that these crooks are able to advertise in reputable publications to rip people off.

Anna of Claremont, NH (10/18/06)
Sent order form with check in the amount of $11.44 in September, 2006 for the Comfort Air Support cushion. Check was cashed on Sept. 24, 2006, no merchandise has ever been received from this company. I have sent a letter but received no response. No telephone number to be found.

I am 85 years old. $11.44 is a lot of money to me on a fixed income.

Robert of Margate, FL (10/16/06)
I ordered a Comfort Air Support Cushion with Lumbar Support on 8/26/06. My check was cashed on 9/13/06. It is now 10/16/06 and I have not received the product.

I am 82 years old on a fixed income. I cannot afford to be cheated.

Phyllis of Crescent City, FL (10/16/06)
I ordered the super mini ear hearing aids on Jan. 15, 2006. I sent a check for $28.95, the check was cashed Feb. 2, 2006. The hearing aids finally arrived on March 15, 2006.

I returned them via US mail on March 15th requesting a refund be sent to me. I have not received my refund.

Michele of Norwalk CT (10/15/06)
I, too, ordered two pairs of slippers from this company. They cashed my check on September 25, 2006 but I have yet to receive my slippers. (I found the add enclosed in a local newspaper.

$18.96 won't change my life but I'd like my money or slippers.

William of Cleona, PA (10/11/06)
I orderd a Comfort Air Support Cushion With Lumbar Support on 9/12/2006 for $11.44 S&H. The check cleared my bank on 9/27/2006 and was deposited into Save By Mail, Inc. on 9/15/2006.  To date I have not received the item I paid for.

I have not yet written them, but will be doing so immediately after this.

William of Cleona PA (10/11/06)
I ordered a Comfort Air Support Cushion With Lumbar Support on 9/12/2006. It cleared my bank on 9/27/2006 and was deposited into Save By Mail, Inc. Account on 9/15/2006. I have not received this item as of yet and cannot get any information on this company to investigate what the problem is.

I am on disability and every penny counts for me. I was ordering this cushion because of back pain and thought it would be a great help in my every day life.

Thomas of Deland, FL (10/09/06)
On 8/23/2006 I ordered 2 comfort air support cushions. My check no. 2235 cleared my bank on 9/13/2006. To date I have not received my merchandise nor am I able to obtain a phone number for this obvious ripoff center.

Gail of Nottingham, PA (10/08/06)
I ordered two pairs of moccasins on August 2,2006.  My check was cashed immediately but I have not heard from them.

The check was for $18.95 is not alot of money I know, but I hate to be riped off.

I'm just out 18.95 and being a widow on very low income I can't afford this.

Debi of North East PA (10/05/06)
Ordered a cushion for my mother. Sent a check on Aug. 27, 2006. It was cashed on Sept. 3, 2006. It is now Oct. 5, 2006, and I have still not received the cushion. I would like the cushion immediately, or the money returned. I was cheated out of $7.49.

Harold of Albany OR (10/04/06)
Ordered two (2) Comfort Air Support Cushions with Lumbar Support for $18.45. Mailed check #1200 22Aug 06. Check was cashed 1 Sep 06.Have NOT received or been notified of any action taken by Save By Mail.

Gloria of Parrish ,FL (10/04/06)
I sent a check for 2 Comfort Air Support cushions on 8/21/06.  My check was deposited 8/30/06 but I never received the cushions.

What is going on?  I see many complaints from other people with the same problem.  I can't afford to lose $18.45.

John of Anderson IN (10/01/06)
Sent off for 2 Pedometers with radio, magazine order. Sent check on June 21, 2006. Check was cashed on June 30, 2006. Never received merchandise.

Susan of Sterling Hts. MI (09/30/06)
Sent Save by Mail $13.85 for 2 bras(including shipping & handling) Wrote check on 6/18/2006. It was cashed 7/11/2006. As of 9/30/2006-no merchandise. According to your information this is standard operating procedures for this company. Shame on them.

Nancy of St. Louis, MO (09/27/06)
I ordered a seat cushion on August 22, 2006. It is now September 26th and I have not received my merchandise. The check has been cashed.

When I went back to the advertisement, I saw that there was no phone number or other means of contact.  I am out only $11.44, but that doesn't ease the pain of being duped.

Janet of Tamarac FL (09/22/06)
On September 1, 2006 I ordered 3 Comfort Air Support Cushions With Lumbar Support from this company. I sent my check for $24.95 which included the purchase price for 3 cushions plus the appropriate shipping charge. The check has been cashed and to date I have still not received these products. This is definitely FRAUD and I would like my total amount of $24.95 returned to me immediately.

The consequences are that for obvious reasons I have a physical problem with my back and was hoping that these cushions would relieve some of the pain.

Sandra of Boynton Beach FL (09/22/06)
I saw an ad for an Air Support Cushion in a Sunday, 8/20/06, South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper insert. I filled out the coupon and a check in the sum of $11.44 and mailed it to the address indicated. I did not keep a copy of the coupon or the address. It has been almost a month since the check was cashed on 8/31/06 and I have not received the merchandise.

Michael of Macon GA (04/14/06)
I ordered a mini hearing aid-my check has been cashed for weeks but I still have not recieved the merchandise.

Helen of Penn Valley CA (02/14/06)
I sent you a complaint about a month ago that I had ordered two back cushions on 10-24-05 and had not received the cusions but they cashed my check for $18.45 immediately. Two weeks ago I received two cushions. However, you inflate them and as soon as you sit on them they deflate so consequently are of no use to me. I would like them to refund my money.

I ordered them to help alleviate my back pain, however being they are defective they do not substantiate their claim in their advertisement.

Helen of Penn Valley CA (01/03/06)
On 10-24-05 I ordered two support cushions. I enclosed a check for $18.45 to cover two cushions and postage. The company immediately cashed the check but to date I have not received the cushions. I sent a copy of my order to them in December telling them I did not receive the cushions but they cashed the check. I received no reply. I would like the cushions or a refund of my payment.

Pearl of Surprise AZ (10/20/03)
In June 2003 I ordered moccassins and paid with a check.I have never received them nor the money. I had to make 3 calls(long distance). Each time I was told I would get it in a few weeks. When I put a complaint with the BBB I found out that this is a company in CANADA. I have spoken and filled out a complaint with the equivalent of our BBB in Canada. They (Canada) said that they have many complaints about this company. However there is nothing they can do to get my money back. In the meantime I am working with the Post Office and filling out Mail Fraud Report.  I'm going to contact my congressman and whomever else I can think of to see if there are other ways to stop them.

George of Corbyville ON (03/01/03)
Mail order item ordered Jan 27 03.Not received by March 1 03 .Found company on Internet and was faced with 1240 Rip-Off Items. Is there something We can do at this time?

Carolyn of Tulare CA (10/24/02)
I ordered 3 ClearVue mini dishes (TV antennas) in August. I received my canceled check and it had been cashed 9/5/02 but I have never received my order. I went online to send them an email to complain and I saw all these sites with reports from other people who have been ripped off by the same company and for the same product also. I emailed them and told them what I had seen online.
