Julie of Levittown PA writes (9/18/01):
The information about the coupons said some of the coupons may have expiration dates on them and a few may be within a month and what I got was several dollars worth that expired in less than 30 days and I have yet to get a single one that has no expiration date on it. The free film has the condition that you have to send your film to this company to redeem the coupon which I also was not told about. The developing is so expensive that I would never send it to that company. I also have received 37 phone calls from other companies claiming to represent the publishers that send me my magazines trying to extend my subscription. I was not told to expect those harassing phone calls until I spoke to United Publishers, who themselves made 7 phone calls to my home. They have said there is nothing they can do that my contract is a loan that can not be terminated and compared it to a car loan. A car loan can be terminated by turning in the car. Why can't this loan be terminated by cancelling the subscriptions? They misrepresented the deal and I want the contract terminated. I have been harassed on the phone. The coupons are not what was promised so I am losing money. The film offer was a total misrepresentation. It is costing me a fortune to use the coupons they are sending me. Report Your Experience
