OAN Services

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I told Oan Services not to charge me anymore for unauthorized charges on my phone bill in January and each month, it is still there. Now, the credit has started to appear on my bill. A month later, I informed them to stop the charge and you won't have to give the credit. I informed them that I do not want to see these charges next month or I will report them to the BBB in my area. He said I have his word which doesn't mean much to me at this time.

I contacted AT&T many months ago, first by email and then by letter requesting an explanation for the $19.09 charge that started to appear on my Bundle's Bill in November 2009 (specifically the bill dated Nov 14 - Dec 13, 2009). I have my DSL internet, telephone(fax), and DirecTV through AT&T. I do not believe I received a response to my question, and after a while, I forgot about it with how busy my life became.

I paid my bill online today, January 3, 2012, and noticed that this charge is still showing so I googled "OAN Services, Inc." and found this site and many sites like it showing that this is fraud, based upon a con called "Slamming." They will claim that I authorized these charges "online" without any verification from the actual account holder.

I contacted AT&T by email today again, and I want them to respond in writing, be it by USPS or email. I totally dropped the ball on this by not keeping up with the questioning, and this has led to fraudulent charges totaling, as of January 3, 2012, $553.61.

I have found a website called "Classactionconnect.com," and I am considering filing a report on there. And if I do not get satisfaction from AT&T, I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Business Bureau. I've found out that I'm just one of the thousands of people who are being scammed by OAN Services, Inc. And I'm looking for advice on how to go about getting this situation resolved to my satisfaction, not AT&T's.

My CenturyLink phone bill arrived with a third party bill from OAN Services, Inc. in behalf of aDigitalVillage.com. The charges were $12.95 on July 21 12:00am and $12.95 on August 21 12:00am. Both of the charges are from Gold Host and totaled to $25.90. I have had no previous subscription/contact with either company. The phone company said I have to contact OAN Services if this is not legitimate.

$8.23 was charged to our phone bill each month for services that we're already paying for through Frontier.

732-728-7005 has been used solely for computer purposes for 14 years. There has not been a telephone connected to that line for that long. There is no need for any services, such as long distance, *69, etc. on that line. Several months ago, I stopped using my landline (732-728-1350) and opted to use solely my cell number (732-233-0840) for incoming and outgoing telephone calls. I made no changes to the 732-728-7005 line at all, other than to make it the primary account number as I discontinued 732-728-1350. I did not at any time seek out long distance service for this line - there was no need - there is no telephone.

Suddenly and mysteriously with my April 10, 2011 bill, my balance due to Verizon was increased by $48.29 due to 3rd party billing charges by a company called OAN Services, Inc. for long distance service. At no time ever have I sought out OAN or any other company for long distance service on 732-728-7005 - there is no need - there is no phone. I immediatly called Verizon, and was told that the balance due to Verizon would be credited the $48.29, that I should submit the difference ($82.27) which I did, that they would place a "3rd party billing block" on my account to prevent this from ever happening to my account again, and that I should call OAN. I called OAN and told them to never charge my Verizon account again. I spoke first to a "Karen" when I dialed 800-331-3967 the number Verizon gave me to call, and then to a Theodore who identified himself as a supervisor and provided the employee ID # of 1609047.

They both spoke with an accent of some sort which I could not quite identify. I explained the situation and that's when they finally explained to me that they were billing my line for long distance service. I told them to stop immediately. Then I received the May 10, 2011 statement from Verizon, showing another $48.29 being charged to my bill from OAN but a credit to my account for the $48.29 charged by OAN on the previous bill. Again, I got on the phone and called Verizon, was again told that I would be credited the $48.29 and that a 3rd party billing block would be put on the account so that it would never happen again. I then received the June 10, 2011 bill, showing another $48.29 being charged for OAN despite the fact that I had been guaranteed for two months previous that a 3rd party billing block was being put on the account so that OAN could never bill my Verizon account again, and a carry over of the $48.29 from the previous bill. I called Verizon yet again, and spent another hour on the phone being guaranteed that both $48.29 charges would be credited to my account, and that this time the real 3rd party billing block would be put on my bill. I received a bill dated July 10, 2011, and see to my absolute dismay and disgust that I have yet another charge from OAN for a service I have NEVER used and NEVER requested and NEVER authorized, and in fact have been more than demonstrative in stating that it DOES NOT HAVE MY AUTHORIZATION to do this, and a carry over of the $48.29 charge from the previous month.

I paid Verizon its charges and its charges ALONE for the due dates of May 5, June 6, and July 5, and WILL ONLY PAY VERIZON CHARGES for the due date of July 10. Please contact me in writing immediately to show that I have been credited all these fraudulent charges from OAN Services, Inc., and that a 3rd party billing block has once and for all been placed on my account. Please be advised further that I am seeking out other services for my line, as I am extremely upset and unhappy with Verizon's handling of this matter over the past 4 billing cycles. Thank you. Rosanne Letson (732) 233-0840.

OAN charged my phone bill $39.95 twice for services they said were authorized by an employee of mine. She stated she told them she was not authorized to approve these services. Luckily, I caught it on my first bill which I often don't scrutinize. When I called them, they immediately agreed to credit me for the amount and a second charge for the next month's bill, but told me my receptionist authorized the services-- a lie. It took me about an hour to resolve this, and as a practicing dentist that's worth $400.00 Why can't this company be fined or prohibited from doing business? I couldn't help but notice I'm not alone in this case!

Someone from the company added an unauthorized charge to our phone bill. Now, over $350 of unauthorized charges has been added to our phone bill.

This company continuously bills me for services I do not want or need. Please get them off my phone bill. I have Lifeline services from the State of New Jersey along with Verizon, a tremendous hardship for my telephone services to a range from $23.00 per month to $50 - $69 per month, plus cell phone fees. Please help me get them off my bill!

An unauthorized charge was placed on the Verizon phone bill. This happened in January of 2010 and as of today, May 19th, it still hasn't been taken care of. I am given a runaround and I am sick and tired that something like this is allowed to go on. Where are the customer's rights?

Like many, I opened my AT&T phone bill and found a $14.95 charge from OAN. I called immediately, and the phone rep quickly "explained" that there must have been a billing error and the wrong account was billed. This was the largest load of crap someone has ever dumped for an excuse. How is this even legal? Where and what are our rights as consumers?

The OAN rep asked if I contacted my phone service provider, I said, "Not yet." He was adamant that I didn't have to call AT&T, as he was issuing a credit. Whatever. I called AT&T to ensure these folks were not paid anything. I also put on a block on all third-party charges. It's totally ridiculous that I had to request this.

On my AT&T bill for my home and internet services charges from this company, each month, a $14.95 started appearing on my phone bill. Today, I called them and they said, "oh, you must have signed up for our services on the internet or buy a gift card." I said, "No, i did not. It's residential charges." So they agreed to take the 3 month past charges off my bill which came to $44.85, so just beware.

We have 8 locations and continually are being harassed by OAN and other companies adding on additional charges for web hosting fees that we never ordered. AT&T tells us we have to pay AT&T and wait for OAN to reverse the charges. This is ridiculous! One bill had 3 different charges and we have to pay $150 to AT&T until ILD will remove! They know they are lying because when you call their 800#, they immediately say they will credit. They lay in wait hoping the consumer will not notice the charges and so they can collect. What a scam! How do we stop this from happening and protect ourselves? Loss of wages as having to first catch the scam, then call AT&T to notify, then call OAN to get them to credit. Also, must pay AT&T and wait for credit. Scam!

Billing sheet from AT&T shows a $12.95 charge per month and I had no idea what for. I called their number and was told that a Christie ** has initiated the contact via web. I told the woman I spoke to that I have no idea who this person is and no approval came from me. She said it would be cancelled. My wife called them back rather irate and she said a refund of about $140.00 would be forthcoming. I have had no luck getting through to AT&T to complain as it is a nightmare with all the options they give either on the phone or the web.

biled on att without authorization

I received unauthorized charges on my AT&T phone bill from OAN Services,Inc. and I don't undrestand why I'm receiving them. I have no need for their services, neither do I want them. Every month I am bother with some 2nd or 3rd party companies on my bill.

OAN Services INC, is charging me for services we did not ask for on my ATT Bill. ATT says we have to resolve the issue ourselves. We requested that the service be stopped in Sep 08, and requested a reimbursement. However, when Oct 08 billing came for ATT, OAN was still charging us $8.72 per month for services we did not agree upon. I called them back on 10/10/08 and they said it can take up to 3 months for reimbursement but the services had been stopped.

Showing up as an outstanding charge on ATT bill, ATT is working with us on the issue. However, I have to do all the leg work and time spent contacting OAN to resolve the issue. I don't see how this company can exist, I have been monitoring blogs and many complaints on the internet regarding OAN. I just want to be reimbursed and for them to stop billing me thru ATT.

Fraudulent charges added to my business telephone number. This is a rollover line for my company. I have a sole propietorship, no employees with phone access, and yet was told that I signed up for their service. I have asked them to cancel and reverse the charges; however, it is going to take them 2 months to reverse.

I have lost an hour of my time (30 minutes with them and another 30 with Embarq), and have to pay these current charges for this month's phone bill. My company is small, and I don't have the time, nor the economic means to deal with this kind of fraud. My time is billed at $73 / hour.

Was billed $9.06 to my ATT account without taking this sevice. Was not done with my approval.

OAN Services, Inc. billed me on 8/13/08 for $8.43 on behalf of Laurentel, Inc. for LD & V-Mail Setup Fee The call center said they would put a block on the service and said we had ordered it on-line on 7/18/08. They even had the e-mail address. After seeing this is a BIG problem with this compan(ies), I wanted to register a complaint early.

$8.43 so far ... which I asked for a refund on 8/27/08

This company placed a charge on my phone bill. I never heard of this company before!

Fortunately, I found the charge and called my phone company before I paid the bill. I never noticed it was on my bill last month as well.
