First National Card: Too Good to be True?
Consumer Complaints

I received a credit card in the mail stating that I was pre-approved for 6,500, which I never applied for!

I am trying to rebuild me credit and thank goodness I looked on this website before activating the card! It sounds like they really scam people out of a lot of money.

I got a call from these people and they said that I was referred to them by another company because I had applied for a credit card. Well, I did but didn't know companies do referals, or not. So I was told I am getting a credit card and this will help me with my credit. All I had to do is use it anywhere at least once every 3 months. After all the questions I had, Mr. Kenneth Wilson had all the right answers. They say Yes, this is a secured credit card and you can use it at your leasure.

After all the authorization, I had to pay 100 twice, once on 12-3 and one on 12-14. Once I paid, I received the card. I told my fiance and others that I got my credit card. Funny that no one heard of it. I should have known. But maybe a new company that helps people build up credit. Well, behold - A white card and a CD with a catalog. No credit card, just a merchant card with junk to buy. I was very upset. I tried to call them for weeks, (the fine print says that I have 30 days to cancel). I get a prompt to press one for a customer service rep. I do, then nothing. Not a signal, music, a recording says all reps are busy, please hold. NOTHING. I called my bank and told them I googled First National Card Services and found this complaint site. I am shocked to find many people in the same boat as me and how many ways they got us. My bank suggested that I close my current account and open up another so they don't try to take money out of my account. I am also going to send this stuff back with a letter of complaint (with copies of course) and cancel that way, since they can't answer the phone.

My 17 yr old son received this card this week, unsolicited, and I wondered who would send a credit card to a high school kid. Well, I didn't even give him the card and letter. I first logged on here, and after reading all the reports, I am so very grateful that I did. Thanks for the great job you do of keeping America informed!

I received an approval letter in the mail stating that I was pre-approved for a credit limit of 6500.  I called to activate my card, entered electronic signature card code, and also it prompt me to say my first and last name. Then the automative system prompt me to speak to a live person. The live person asked me for my DOB, but then I came about Consumer Affairs website about them, and notice the complaint.

I told the representative that I wasnot interested, and I see that this company is a major scam. She quickly read a script saying that she needed my DOB information before she could answer any of my questions, and proceed with activating my account. I hung the phone.

This company obtained my information and has debited money from my checking account, putting me in the red.

I now have credit damage.
