Away We Go Promotions

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The company responds: The Customer Service Number was left off of the printed materials solely by accident. The Customer Service Number is 877-994-6292. Or 877-99-go away. Thank You.

Sent money to Away We Go for airline tickets for a seminar at La Bonne Vie vacation club. I sent a money order and request for tickets to Away We Go Promotions at ** Philadelphia, PA 19103. I never received the tickets. I went to ** and found the Fedex mail box service. I took them to court in Bucks County, PA and won judgement but I was never able to collect any money.

We participated in a presentation by Serenity Travel in Delaware in the summer of 2009. Afterward, they gave us two "free air ticket" vouchers to be arranged by Away We Go Promotions. The instruction on the vouchers asked for a copy of driver's license and $50 money order each, along with two possible travel dates to be sent to their address in Philadelphia (1735 Market Street, #A-440). We sent them $100 and the vouchers. They were not able to meet the first date we chose and a few days ago I received an email saying they cannot arrange the ticket for the second date either, but asked me to provide two more dates. All this is after almost 18 months after they took our voucher forms and $100 money order sent by certified mail as required (I have all receipts and documentation).

What concerns me is that their company and email names have changed (previously it is "Away We Go Promotions" and now it is "Promotions") and their new email address is a Gmail account (yourpromotravel@gmail.com). Last year, I was still able to dial ** and talked to a woman who identified herself as "Tanya", but now I cannot get through this number and instead get a message saying it is "temporarily unavailable, please try again in a few hours".

I think the whole thing is a scam and I would like Serenity Travel and Away We Go Promotions to be investigated.

We attended a promotional vacation presentation and for that, we were promised with two cruise vouchers and two airplane tickets. After several attempts of booking our cruise and flights, we were told that they could not accommodate our requests. But we will get a refund after our address was verified and it was through email. I have requested my refunds several times with no response.

They claim they are sending us a refund because they could fulfill our travel plans which we paid for. They owe us $200. I would like to take them to court.

I was promised a free cruise and free airfare for attending a seminar for travel vacations which I did. The only cost was supposed to be for cruise taxes of $498 for two people plus $50 deposit airline per person. They required a postal money order for each. I have copies of the $498 postal money order along with $100 postal money order for the airlines. They required along with that a request for two dates that we would like to travel. They've acknowledged receipt of the money orders and said we would be notified of the cruise information 14 to 30 days prior to the cruise. We have heard nothing even though I have sent repeated emails. They claim it was to be subject to availability. I am now out almost $600 plus the $3,700 I paid to sign up for the travel vacations through their adjoining company of Modern Destinations Unlimited.

I sat though a promotions with Destinations in Freehold, NJ and although we did not accept their package, we were told we could get a free cruise and air fare as long as we paid taxes. We followed all requirements and send a total $598 in money orders, four all together certified mail on Oct. 10,2009. They signed and cashed the money orders. I requested dates for travel with these money orders. We were set to go in May 2010 for our honeymoon. They said that coupons would be sent. In Jan 2010, I called and told them the date that we would be traveling and they requested coupon numbers. I explained to Michelle that we did not receive these coupons. She told me that we could receive a refund. I told her to send it. Michelle said it would take 15 business days for the refund to be received.

It is now Sept 29, 2010 and we have not gotten our refund. I have made many calls reaching once Gina who said the refund would be sent. I believe that I've call and left messages about 25 times in the last 11 months and no one ever calls back. I am at a lost at this point. I do not know were to go and what to do. I believe they are doing this to many people from the email and complaints I've read. I have sent a complaint to you in the past and really need help.

If you look at your post, you will see others with the same complaint. Someone needs to look into this company and do something. Don't we have rights anymore? Can companies like this continue to take out money and not be held responsible for their actions. Does anyone out there feel the same. Let's get our money back and close them down! We work to hard for people to take our vacation money away! Has anyone sued this company or in the process?

We had sent in all the necessary information to Away We Go Promotions for our free cruise and air plane tickets. They were unable to book us on either a cruise or flight and promised a refund would be processed within 15 days of the end of our promotional period. Our promotional period ended in August. I have emailed them three times in the last week asking where the promised refund is and have not had any response from them. I copied the emails to Sunshine Promotions, the company we originally dealt with, and they have not responded either.

I just read about all the complaints about Away We Go Promotions. My husband and I also sat through the MDU presentation and we submitted payment for both the cruise and airfare. We received the airfare back stating we did not send it correctly but they kept the cruise money but stated the cruise we chose was during black out days so we chose new dates. I did speak to a representative who in July who offered me early confirmation and that we should hear in August. In August, they said they have 14-30 days prior to departure to confirm.

Today, it's 30 days and I called and once again they cannot give me any information. They said that the travel representatives who actually confirm work after 5:00pm and that they have until 14 days prior to departure to do so but she would request a phone call back and early confirmation for us. I have to believe we were scammed especially after reading all the complaints that have already been filed. What do we do to get our money back?

We sat for a vacation club promotion. In declining the vacation club, we were offered a "free" cruise and airfare. We filled out all paperwork required, including dates, cruise line and airline. The airfare required a $50.00 deposit per person and the cruise required a $250.00 deposit per person. For my wife and I this equals to $600. Away We Go Promotions e-mailed us that they could not fulfill the cruise nor the flight and a refund would be forthcoming after confirmation of our address. Our address was confirmed via e-mail. We have not received a refund of $600.

In Sept. of 2009, I sat for a vacation time share package for modern destination in Manaplan, NJ. We were told, we would get a 7-night cruise of our choice plus air-fare and that all we had to do was pay the taxes and port charges. The package was to come from away we go promotions in Philadelphia. The price of the cruise was 249 per person and the airfare was 50 per person .

I had given them 2 dates that we were to chose from. I had been on the computer numerous times to find out about these cruise and they were both available up till about a couple of weeks before departure date. On 8\2, I received an e-mail from away we go promotions that they couldn't fulfill my request and they would send me my money back at the time of the expiration date which is next week. I tried to e-mail them a couple of times and their web site has disappeared. They have also done this to 2 of my friends who sat for the time share. I believe they are committing a crime as I see there are numerous complaints on your board.

I would like to state that I mailed them a total of 598.00 in money orders and I am requesting my money back. There was an article in the asbury park press about modern destinations being investing for criminal consumer fraud, I believe away we go promotions is also owned by the same owner and they are committing a criminal act. I would love to speak to someone about this.

I plan on next week going to my local police department and making a formal complaint. I had checked back in Sept. of 2009 with the better business bureau and at the time there were no complaints. This is the only reason I did business with this company. I would like to also add I have sat for time shares before and had always received what was promised to me.

My husband and I received a card in the mail with a guarantee for a free cruise. Well, we listened to the spill and proceeded to send our money $498.00 port charges and $100.00 airfare tax. We received a voucher back to pick dates to cruise. March 1st, we sent airline money. March 17th we sent $498.00 port charges! We sent them back the forms picking our dates for July 17thor 18th to cruise and heard nothing! I tried to call the phone # on the card we received, 1800- and we were told to call Blue water travel at 609. We left a message! So far nothing. I am very angry that I fell into this trap and got ripped off $598.00 with no recourse! Someone please help us! We hate to get ripped off.

I went to a Travel Presentation at MDU. I was offered a cruise and airfare package, $498 for the cruise and $100 for the airfare. I sent them payment and my 2 requested dates for trips. They responded back saying they could not fulfill the first one and would be able to do the second. I emailed them 3 times for updates before the trip date and they stated that they would confirm 14-30 days before travel date. On the 14th day before we were to leave, they send me an email stating they cannot process the trip at this time. I tried to call the Customer Service number and it puts you into a voice mail box. I tried to call MDU and they said they stopped doing business with Away We Go Promotions because they were getting complaints from customers that their trips were not being fulfilled.

I had sent in my certificate that was given to me by Modern Destination for Cruise and Airfair. They had asked me for $500 for cruise port taxes and $100 for airfair taxes. After waiting to get no cruise I had requested for a refund and it's been over a month that I did not get my money or heard from them.

I have just written a complaint and it seems that this company's response to everyone is the same. Does anyone find that odd? Maybe it automated to say that when someone puts in a complaint. Yes, they do have a number but no one picks up. I sent a police officer there to see if the place is for real and to no surprise no one answered. I had a personal check cashed so I know they bank with TD Bank. I called the bank and they said I have to file a police report. I am doing that today.

I have copies of the checks they had cashed for a free cruise and airfare. I was told I had to pay taxes on both. I sent the checks, they cashed them. They could not full fill my request and I asked for my money back. I was told a check was mailed out March 30th 2010. It is now April 9th and no check and no one answers this phone number, just a recording. I would like to send someone there to see if it's a real place.

I went to a presentation for Sun International for airfare travel voucher and 8day/7night hotel accommodations. We followed all rules for mailing the proper documentation, the correct amount and within the time period allotted. We had not received our travel vouchers so I emailed Away We Go and they responded saying they had no record and wanted us to fax the forms, etc. to them. We did as requested. We finally received the travel voucher but there was no mention of the 8day/7night stay. When at the presentation, we informed our representative that the hotel stay was the only reason we were agreeing to the travel voucher and airfare.

We emailed again and they offered a refund of our money since the hotel stay was not included. On 01/22/10, we received an email that our refund was being processed and that we would receive it in 15 business days. On 03/03/10, I emailed them notifying them that we had not received our refund and asked if they could let us know when we could expect it. It is now 3/23/10 and we still have not received our refund or a response to our email dated 3/03/10. I found a phone number for them but,as another person reported, it was an automated answering stating that they would see if a representative was available to assist me. A few seconds later, the automated response was that no one was available to help me and to leave a message, which I did. I hope to get a response from them but my hope is diminishing.

In Sept.2009 we were invited to listen to a promotion spill for MDU in New Jersey. We were promised a cruise and air fare for attending. We did get the information, and decided that it would be a good deal since we were getting married and wanted to take a cruise for our honeymoon. We followed all rules and mailed our money order of $598.00. $100.00 was for the airfare and the $498.00 was for the cruise.

In January 2010 we called to set up our cruise for May 2010 and were asked about coupons. I explained that we never received any, Michelle said we could have our money back, I told her yes to send our money back, she took the information and said we would receive it within 15 business days, it is now March and we have not receive anything. I called and all I get is a message that no one is able to answer our call. I have left 7 voice mail messages in the past 3 weeks. We want our money back. Can anyone help us?

We attended a Serenity Travel club presentation on July 16, 2009 receiving 2 certificates for roundtrip airfare tickets anywhere in the U.S., Mexico or Canada, as well as car rental via "Away We Go Promotions". The registration form was sent via certified mail, with the certificates, 2 US Postal money orders for $100 each and copies of our photo IDs. These were signed as received on July 23, 2009. Having received nothing from them, we sent an email on September 29, 2009 asking why we had not received our travel request forms.

They emailed back on September 30, 2009 requesting more info. We emailed them with the info on October 16, giving Serenity Travel as the company that issued the certificates and the numbers of those certificates. We received an email saying they had no record of these forms on their list and requesting that we fax copies. On October 21, we faxed copies as requested. They then requested via email on the same day copies of the sent money orders, with a receipt from the post office showing that they were cashed. Not having these as they were sent to them as requested, we had to go to the post office and faxed these copies to them on November 23. The Reservation Request form was sent to us finally and stated that it was the confirmation that they had received the registration forms.

We have copies of all forms and correspondence sent and received. Our first request for airline tickets and car rental, with all requirements met, was sent on December 4 and shown as received on December 9. As of February 22, 2010, we had received no acknowledgment that they were processing the forms. Since the first choice of our travel dates had already passed, we expected that they would issue the airline tickets and car rental for the second dates requested. They then emailed us on February 23, 2010 with another request for our first and second travel dates that we had submitted. We emailed back with those dates on February 23.

On February 24, 2010, we received another email stating that they could find no record of the reservation request forms in their files and requested that another one be faxed or emailed to them. These were sent again on March 1 with new dates requested, either leaving on May 8, 2010 returning on May 15, 2010 or leaving on June 12, 2010 returning on June 19, 2010 from Philadelphia to Orlando and back. The terms require that this travel takes place within one year of receiving the certificates, which will be up on July 16, 2010 with restrictions not allowing use 7 days before and after holidays.

Basically, these are the only dates that will fit within their terms, by the one year date. We have received no airline tickets or car rental for our money and certificates that were sent to Away We Go Promotions. We have been attempting to do so since September of 2009. The specified dates for this promotion will terminate as of July 16, 2010.

Attended a presentation at Serenity Travel. Followed by sending a check (letter specified money order) and forgot to send 2 forms of i.d. I sent Fed Ex with tracking #. Was surprised to get rejection with "no more chance" wording. From what I just read from others, it appears they rely on their tedious instructions not being followed so they can reject the activation form and then follow it up with other forms and then scrutinize those forms for omissions or mistakes so they have another opportunity to return the money order. My letter had no sender name or phone. I emailed my complaint to them and received an email with no name. Their email was full of grammar and spelling mistakes. I consider myself fortunate to be stopped in the early stage as I can only imagine what problems there would be to acually travel under the hand of "anonymous" staff.

Attempting to secure free airline tickets as promised by Serenity travel in Delaware. Pasted the first stage of information and money exchange, then when ticket request specifics came AWG voided the deal and returned our deposit. Reason - mistakes made on reservation form included holiday window and given no opportunity to revise dates. This deal has not cost me money but it's important to reveal the scam.

I feel like Allysa from Sommerville.

Why does Away we go Promotions have no phone number to contact them to ask questions about this cruise we got from MDU. We would like to book it but are not sure we should. How do we get information?

The company responds:

The Customer Service Number was left off of the printed materials soley by accident. The Customer Service Number is 877-994-6292. Or 877-99-go away. Thank You

Daryl Turner, President

If Away We Go Promotions is for real, then why can't people, the public, have a phone number for us to call to talk to a person??? I'M in N.J, if I were to drive to Philadelphia to the address, is this place really there? I am weary about sending my $$$ for a free cruise and flight that I was promised by MDU.

On 7/29/09 I sent by certified mail postal money orders to the above address one for $100.00 for security & taxes for roundtrip airline tickets, the other money order for $29.99 for taxes & shipping of a Bul-Ray DVD player both were for attending a presentation by La Bonne Vie Travel. I sent an email on 8/19/09 about these two items I was told a reservation form was sent out and the DVD player was to be delivered within 30 days.

I sent a letter and email on 9/07/09 reguesting the return of my money no response. I sent additional emails on 9/10/09 & 9/14/09 no response. I am trying to recover my $129.99 sent 7/29/09 for taxes, shipping,& security for which I received nothing
