It was decided that her gallbladder had to be removed after the infection was under control. She was given an antibiotic and on July 22nd her gallbladder was removed at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. My daughter is thin and healthy and there was no obvious reason for her gallbladder to have been in such bad shape. I wanted to register a complaint in case others are also having this problem as a result of Zovia. I don't want it on the market to make someone else sick if it was the cause of my daughter's problems.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I heard a commercial talking about gallbladder problems as a result of birth control use, so I thought I'd register a complaint as well. When my daughter was 16 she had continual menstrual bleeding, so her doctor put her on Zovia. She was on this birth control pill for about 14 months, ending in Feb., 2009. On June 20th, 2009, when she was 17, she had a major gallbladder attack and was in the hospital overnight. She had x-rays and was found to have many gall stones and an infected gallbladder. On July 4th she was placed in the hospital again overnight.
