Linda of Milford, PA February 27, 2008

I went to Wal-Mart Pharmacy and picked up my son's medicine on 1/14/2008. I didn't think I had to check the dates. On 2/26/2008, I happened to look at the date on the bottle and it read: expires 12/2007. The other bottles had stickers over the expiration dates. When I peel the stickers off, I was unable to read them because part of it came off with the stickers. Now I wonder if my medication is expired because they put it in a yellow pill bottle and they put a Drug Exp. on it. On my son's bottle they have on their label that they printed out and put on: Drug Exp. 01/13/2009; and on the bottle itself it reads: Exp. 12/2007. Now what date do you trust? I am going by the date on the bottle itself.

My son is on this medication for the rest of his life. It is Ultrase MT18, and they are enzymes that help him digest food. He has to take them every time he eats. And it is not like he just takes one; he has to take 6 each time he eats. It is very important to me that they are good and not expired. As everyone knows, medicine is not cheap; and some of us are lucky to have insurance to help us with that. And as a customer, I expect that when I pick up my medication at the pharmacy I should not have to worry about out-dated medicine. You would expect them to keep track of that, and you should not have to worry. But, since last night, I am now concerned about all our prescriptions that we get from Wal-Mart Pharmacy. My son's insurance paid a lot of money for expired medicine.

We are thinking about changing to a different pharmacy. We just hope that we don't come across the same problem. It almost makes you feel like you can't trust pharmacies because now you don't know if you are getting out-dated medicine. How are customers supposed to know when they put them in those yellow pill bottles with a Drug Exp. date on it. But in my case, they tried to cover up the expiration with their label saying it was not expired. I think there should be some kind of law that the pharmacy should not be able to put their stickers of the expiration dates on the medicine bottles. I did write a letter to the drug enzyme company to let them know what happened.

I dropped off my blood pressure prescription for a refill on Feb.21, 2008 about 4:15pm. I was told it would be ready by 6pm that day. I laughed, knowing that if I got it by 9 it would be because the earth was going to end. I went home planning to pick it up the next day. I got there at 4:20 on Feb.22, 2008. After waiting until 5.pm was told they could only give 3 out of the 30. I was never told they were low on stock the day before. I told them that 3 would not do, because I am to take 2 per day by my doctor's advice. The pharmacist came out and was rude, told me that he didn't care what the doctor told me that the prescription said 1 per day, then told me I was not the only person to take that drug. I told him to cancel it and I would go to another store. He shrugged and went back to his throne.

I found the store manager and complained and got a number to a district manager. I called him and complained. He at first tried to blow me off, then as I got mad he stated he could get the drugs I needed at another store. I told him the one closest to my house was at I45 and West Rd. He asked me to wait and would call back. He called back and said it was ordered at the other store and they had the full amount. It took an hour to drive there. It was now 7 pm. I was told it would be ready in 30 mins. I walked around for 30 mins and got back in line. At 7:50 was told they were working on it. I called him back and got voice mail. At 8:15, I called again telling him I was still waiting. It had now become a passion to get the medicine, and at 8:30 he called back and said the pharmacist had told him it was done.

I didn't see my medicine until 8:50. I had been at at the store for almost 2 hours and the prescription had been placed for 3 hours. After waiting in their stores for 4 1/2 hours they still charged me 4. You could think they could waive a measly 4. Almost everyone in line was complaining and relating their stories about how they had been lied to and how the clerks and pharmacy workers are rude and arrogant. Most of the customers are older and on maintenance medications. We may be old and economically challenged but we don't have to take it! I will never enter any of the Walmart stores again.

I missed an important family gathering because I was lied to. I did not get home until 9:30pm. I had been off since 4Pm. I was ill all weekend because of this kind of treatment. My blood pressure was over 196 when I got home. This is dangerously high and could have caused a stroke or heart attack. I had informed my relatives to file a wrongful death suite against Walmart should that have happened. Someone like 20/20 should do an undercover story on this! I would like to have a class action law suit filed against Walmart. I believe it is time for them to made to pay for deceptive treatment to their customers. If Walmart won't keep their promises then they should be made to give a discount, or give it for free.

I went to pick up medicine for my mother that I ordered over the phone on Feb 12 and when I tried to pick it up they informed me it was put back on the shelf. When I complained, they told me they could have it ready in 5 min. 23 min. later they finally brought it to me the bottle was a sealed bottle that they didn't have to count it - all they had to do was slap a label on it and hand it to me. Then that same day I ordered something else for my mom and when I got there to pick it up there were 32 people in front of me with ONE cashier.

I went to pick up my migraine prescription. I get 6 pills for 40.00. I was told they only had 3 and I would still have to pay the 40.00. I could come back when they got more in, but I would have to pay another 40.00. I called my insurance company and they said this had nothing to do with them, that they paid for the number of pills that the prescription was written for. Needless to say, I transferred my script to another pharmacy in town.

The pharmacy gave me someone else's prescription. This was a Sunday evening. We discovered the mistake at 6:15 p.m. and went back to the pharmacy to get the correct prescription and return the wrong one. The pharmacy closed at 6:00 p.m. I asked the customer service desk to get in touch with the pharmacist and have him/her come back to the store to correct the problem, as my son was out of his medication and needed to have it the next morning. The pharmacist refused to come back that evening and said that I would have to come back the next morning when the pharmacy reopened. I found this response to be totally unacceptable. This mistake was pure negligence.

My son who has ADHD will not be able to take his prescription in a timely manor. I'm also not sure if the person whose prescription I have, may have my son's, which is a controlled substance.

I took my daughter in law on 02/12/08, about 11:00 am, to get her prenatal vitamins refilled. We were told we'd have to pick them up after 11:00 am on 02/13/08 because they were so behind. On the 13th, we got there after 11 am and the man told us it'd be three hours. Then he ask us to speak to this other lady and she said she'd have them in 15 minutes. We walked around and came back in 20 minutes and talked to another lady who said it'd be 30 minutes longer. After a while she did get her vitamins. This man in front of us had gone to the doctor and the doctor had called in his prescription on Monday. This was Wednesday and they still did not have it ready. A friend of mine carried his daughter to the doctor and had to leave the prescription because they were so far behind and when he went back the next day, they said they didn't have the medicine in stock.

I brought in a RX about noon on Friday, came back to pick it up about 5 PM that day but the line for pick-ups was so long I left. I went back this evening, stood in line about half an hour before I was waited on, then I was told WE DON'T HAVE THAT ITEM, IT WILL HAVE TO BE ORDERED, BUT WE CAN'T DO THAT UNTIL MONDAY. WHY WHY did they not order it when they could fill the RX? I am looking for a new place to buy my RX.

Sandra G. Clark of Pulaski, TN January 25, 2008

Wal-mart must not care anymore in the Pharmacy. On 3 seperate trips to the pharmacy, the waiting period for medication has been more than 2 1/2 hours or more. The first problem we had on a Friday afternoon after waiting on the bench for 2 1/2 hours, the order was not completely filled and when husband arrived at home he found that some had been completely left out causing us to have to drive more than 20 miles to go back to store for medication needed. The second time Doctor called in a prescription at 3:00 P.M. and when I went to pick it up at 4:00 P.M, I sat until 15 minutes to 6:00 waiting for it to be filled. This one prescription was 528.00 for 3 months as I sat many more people dropped off prescriptions at the window and were waited on and out before ours was finished.

Then yesterday, I was told when I dropped a prescription off for my mother at the window, that it would be 20 to 30 minutes if I wanted to wait. After one hour when I ask it was not ready, it would be about another 20 to 30 minutes. This was a simple medication for Tylenol with codene for pain for a broken arm. I couldn't wait another 20 to 30 minutes because I had a child to pick up at school, so had to drive 14 miles and return back to the store an hour later. I felt that If I hadn't been told 20 or 30 minutes then I would have not been so upset. But I will not be visiting the pharmacy at Wal-mart anymore to pick up my families medicine which I sure will not be of a concern to Wal-Mart.

A complete waste of time which I consider of value when I've worked 8 to 10 hours in town and have that much more to do at home. Plus the gas I've had to use making unnecessary trips to town. I don't live a block away.

Kim of Elkhart, IN January 12, 2008

I went to pick up 2 prescriptions today that I dropped off 2 days prior. They could not be found by the pharmacy cashier. This was after waiting approx. 25 min. in line. The RX's were for my severe back pain which worsened due to the extended time on my feet. The cashier sent me down to the drop off window to talk to someone down there. Again, I had to wait. Approx. 20 min. I finally got up to the pharmacist and he started to do some searching. At that time, I told him I had to sit down. My back was hurting. In the mean time, I called my Dr.'s office and explained to them what was going on. After the nurse talked to the Dr., she called me back and said that the Dr. that I saw was not there, and the other doctor would not approve a refill. (It would be considered a refill on their records)

Meanwhile, I sat waiting for the pharmacist another 20-25 minutes. He said that they did not have the prescriptions. I asked him what he thought I should do and he became very defensive, irritated and rude with me. He said that as far as he is concerned, the prescriptions never existed and none of the people behind the counter remembered seeing me on the day I dropped them off. I told him that I was actually there two times that same day because I picked up my aunts RX's for her. He asked me her name, I told him, he looked it up and indeed saw that she had RX's picked up that day which I would have had to sign for. Still he continued to imply that I was a liar and was trying to pull a fast one. He even asked me what day I went to the doctor, and why didn't I take the RX's in the same day, and why did I wait 2 or 3 days? I told him I didn't feel I needed to answer to him. However, the truth is, I went in once to pick them up but the line (as usual) was extremely long and moving very slowly. Also, I don't have insurance, and after paying for the Dr. appointment, I didn't have the money to pay for them. I asked him for a number I could call to complain. He told me there was no number. I just walked out at that point, furious and in tears, and not to mention, in pain.

I missed a total of 3 hours work, and by the time I got back to work, I was so upset, I couldn't focus on anything except the fact that he basically called me a liar and embarassed me in front of many other customers and employees. Also, the money that I had to pay out to see the doctor was basically a waste because now I can't even get the RX's I need. And since I couldn't get the pain medication, I am now in excrutiating pain and left work early today because I couln't take it any longer. I have 5 children to care for also. I can't just lay around in pain.

Jimi of Cassadaga, NY December 31, 2007

I took my wife's van in to get an oil change in Sept. 2007.....In early Nov, my wife heard a 'clunk' and had to have the car towed to a garage. The mechanic, an OWNER of Midas, determined that when Walmart did the oil change, they did not tighten the oil pan bolt with a change, only put it in by hand. The plug came out over time, draining every bit of oil and destroying the engine.

My engine was thoroughly destroyed. Walmart decided that since it happened after 2800 miles, they could not have done it; however they basically admitted to me and my mechanic that it was their fault.
