I take Vytorin still after complaining to my Dr. when I heard bad reviews on this med. He assured me I was fine bcause of Vytorin. Well in the mean time I had a heart attack Jan 20,2009 Two stents were put in a blockage of 99% & another one at 93%. I have been on chlorestol Med for several yrs. And Iam Diabetic so I'm on a diet all the time. I 'm no much overweight. So I feel why did I have a Heart Attack I'm on Antara & Vytorin, I really feel this was not helped by me taking these very expensive meds which is suppose to keep my chlorestrol down.

Noe I have 2 stents and my nerves are shot I have never been a depressed person. Now I am. I'm only 60

My mom had high cholesterol and her doctor recommended Vytorin. She took Vytorin in 2006 and 2007. She saw a tv news article about the dangers of Vytorin so she stopped taking it.

In August 2008 she kept getting severe back pain. Finally she was given a CT scan which revealed that she had Pancreatic Cancer. Vytorin causes cancer. She passed away January 16, 2009.

Brenda of Tolleson, AZ January 15, 2009

My dad was taken vytorin for about two years and for the last eight to nine month he has been telling his doctor that he has muscle pain and is sick to his stomach. He also told his doctor he has sharp pains in his legs. When he told his doctor that his blood pressure was extremely low the doctor ask him what he thought he should do about it.

In November his blood pressure dropped so low that he past out and hit the floor broke his collar bone and cut his eye open and bruised himself every. While in the hospital he told the doctors there about his symptoms and they didn't catch it. Ten days ago we had to put him back in the hospital he got so weak he couldn't move by himself.

The er doctor said it was due to side effects from the vytorin and niaspan he was taken. Blood test showed his muscle enzymes are real high and that the vytorin has caused his muscles to degenerate. My concern is why didn't his doctor test his for these side effect he was supposed to know about the side effects. And why didn't the hospital catch it the first time he was in there.

After ten days in the hospital they still have not given him a release date and we still don't know if he will get his muscle strength back or if he will get back to normal

I went on vytorin 3 years ago since I have been on it I have had severe pain in my legs. I mean really bad pain to the point where I could hardly walk and had to put my legs up.I also feel really tired also from this. I also have pain in my hands to the point where sometimes they hurt so bad and I have to wear a brace.

The only damage I feel I might have is the muscles in my legs are hurting alot.

Karen of Green Bay, WI May 1, 2008

I have been on Vytorin for two years. In the past couple months I have experienced pain and weakness in my legs. I also have pain in my arms and pain in my hands and shoulders. The pain has spread to my neck and jaw.

I had a CT calcium heart scan 12-04 in which my total coronary score was 80. After two years on Vytorin, not only did the Vytorin NOT reduce the plaque or keep it in check, my calcium score has risen to 171 which puts me at a moderate risk for atheroscherotic plaque and mild coronary artery disease highly likely.

Jd of Severna Park, MD January 17, 2008

I've taken vytorin for nearly a year, along with plavix aand aspirin. but, so far, vytorin has had no positive effect in my plaque buildup. i wonder if you know of class action lawyers intersted in this type issue?

Michel of Mchenry, IL January 16, 2008

I have been taking Vytorin for several years, just learned that no only does do no good, it might be contributing to my early death by building up plaque in my blood vessels. I want a class action suit against not only Vytorin, but Osco Drugs who has neglected to watch over my interests and inform me of these facts, I had to learn them from television news coverage. Even my doctor was waiting for god knows what to notify me that I should change drugs. But Vytorin (it's makers) are the responsible parties, they made it.

It has cost me thousands of dollars over the past several years that I've been taking it, kept me from taking another drug that might have been better and possibly made my condition worse according to the reports and my cardiologist.

Louise of West Columbia, SC January 15, 2008

My doctor asked me to take a drug called Vytorin to help me lower my cholesterol level. I took Vytorin 3 or more months when I started to feel pain in my muscles and a weak feeling that came on slowly. I went back to my doctor, and she sent me for tests. About 2 weeks went by, and I got worse. I went into the hospital, and they said it was Vytorin that was killing me; they kept me for 2 weeks.

They put iv's in my arms for 2 weeks and drained all the Vytorin out of me. Iit was awful hard on me. I'm not sure how much money I paid the hospital. I still have trouble with my stomach and my blood pressure. I'm now 84 years old; my doctor told me I'm lucky to be alive.

Beulah of Bancroft, MI January 15, 2008

I have taking vytorin for more than 6 months. For the past month I have had severe pain in my upper arm, sholder to elbow. Also weakness in my arm and hand. Have in the past few days short pain has occured in my left upper arm.
