in December 2001 I was put on LIPITOR by my family Dr. and I was on it for about 2 weeks. I went back to the Dr. with a severe cough and breathing problem 4 days after being on Lipitor, the Dr. gave me cough syrup. This was the first sign I should have been taken off Lipitor but he did not. The next day I had a red eye, then a few days later constipation, I called the Dr. said the cough syrup could cause constipation, to stop the cough syrup. I did. The constipation continued. The muscles in my legs and arms were so bad by this time I could not sleep, sit for any period of time and I had to have help to get up and down. To walk was the worst pain ever, I had a problem in just doing a few steps, the pain was severe. I stopped on a weekend taking LIPITOR. Called my Dr. and went in the same day I called and she did Blood work, my blood pressure was up to 197/117, my blood pressure was never high. They gave me a breathing test. The blood test showed liver enzymes were up and creatine in my urine. I was back to the office in 3 days more blood work, enzemes and creatine still up, blood pressure still up. Now here it is 16-17 months later and the muscles in my legs will not let up, the pain is severe. The quality of my life is gone since taking Lipitor. I can no longer take care of my house, my husband does the grocery shopping, I used to shop for 2 hours or more. Those days are gone. I can't go out with friends like I use to and the dr. bills and medical bills keep going on. This Lipitor is a dangerous drug and should be taken off the market. Report Your Experience
