Nexium

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I have been off and on on Nexium for several years, mainly on it. It helped my acid reflux tremendously, but I did not realize that a lot of symptoms I was having were due to the Nexium. My prescription ran out about 3 months ago. Since being off it, my acid reflux is back with a rage! I have started the organic apple cider vinegar/baking soda regime and get some relief.

But, I mainly realize how much better the rest of me feels being off Nexium! No more achy joints, tiredness that you can't get out of, lost nutrients (my Vitamin D levels have plummeted being on Nexium, not to mention maybe my B and that's why I was so tired!), hair loss, irritability, you name it. Now, I'm dealing with the Nexium aftermath reflux too. This product should not be handed out so easily and prescribed for such a long time. I hate to know if this has done any long-term damage to my body!

I am so mad and disappointed in the Government and Medicare that I could cry. I am 73 and have been taking Nexium for the past 8 years. Aetna just withdrew this drug from their list for Medicare D. It will now cost me $190.00 a month for this medication. We live in a very stupid society that allows Medicare to dictate which drugs we should take and which drugs we should not take. When does the health of the patient come into play?

Nexium caused a bald spot on the back of my head that will not grow back. It caused a basal cell carcinoma at the base of my throat. It caused cramps in my feet at night. It also wrinkled my face terribly. I did not look at the side effects until these things happened and looked on the Internet and found Nexium caused all these things, except the face wrinkling, but that cleared up in the months after I stopped taking it.

concerning the packaging of nexium; the bottle often does not close properly causing spills and losts pill. i am not elderly, nor arthritic, but have still spilled that bottle 3 times in a month. obviously the bottle design is poor and needs to be modified to a more standard closure. also, i am sure astra zeneca is aware of the feature and i am ashamed of their continuing use of the bottle knowing customers lose pills in this manner. they the use of the bottle to sell more pills.
