MedSupply

Lucy of Rogers AR (3/7/04):
Someone from this company contacted my father (an elderly man residing in Ohio), regarding prescription drug discounts. My father, thinking this was a legitimate company, gave the person on the phone his checking account number and his routing number. This company withdrew $299.00 from his checking account, I assume for a set-up fee. Over the phone they gave him a registration number and told him they would send him a packet of information.

When it arrived, it consisted of a physicians order form, asking for a credit card number, a limited power of attorney and release form, and a list of prescription drugs and price. At the top of the price list was the company name (MedSupply) and a phone number (866-963-9438. The envelope did not have a return address, only a Toronto Canada postmark. I have tried calling this number several times. I always get an answering machine and when I leave a message, no one calls back.

The first thing Lucy's father should do is close his checking account and open a new one. The next is to sign up for the Do Not Call service and the third is for Lucy to persuade her father that he should never again buy anything from a telemarketer. As for MedSupply, it sounds suspiciously like the infamous MedPlan, a Toronto scam that was shut down not long ago.
