I had a prolene patch installed over two hernias in 1996. I had all kinds of physical issues after the operation to today. I received no notice of recall. Please advise.

I have been having medical difficulties since January 2009 as a result of the mercelene mesh produced by Ethicon that was used on me during a medical procedure. The mesh was used during a TRAM flap operation reconstructive surgery whereby the abdominal tissue is used to reconstruct a breast.The mesh was supposed to replace the abdominal muscles and it didn't work out that way. The abdomen became infected because it appears that the mesh worked its way through the skin causing the wound to become infected. I was placed on a vac pack and sent home with home care. When the doctors realized that the mesh wasn't healing, they performed a second operation to remove half of the mesh. I was again sent home with a vac pack and home care and I await further operations to correct the four hernias that have transpired because of this faulty product.
I have all pertinent documentation relating to this fiasco as well as all documentation with regard to the home care assistance and their observations. The physical damage that has arisen because of this faulty product are as follows: severe scaring and deformities, severe psychological scaring requiring medications relating to stress that leave me incapable of work and interfere with my ability to concentrate. I often wonder if these tranquilizers were prescribed in order to make me pacified and less upset about the condition this product has left me in. I've been in constant pain and unable to perform any rigorous task such as raking the lawn, doing gardening, having a bowel movement, having sex, and suicidal thoughts.
In 2000 and 2005 i had 2 hernia operation.After the operation i did not feel right.It was very tender and i could feel like something was pushing under my right ribcage where the surgery was performed.I am not able to work.I am tired and in pain every day.I have to pay someone to do the house work for me and i am only 43 years old.My life has really changed.My friends tell me i seem like a different person.I just wish the doctors could take this mesh patch out of my body.
After a hernia injury I was repaired by an Ethicon Prolene Mesh patch. Within 3 months I knew that something was wrong. A little over a year after the first surgery and a procedure to try and stop the nerve pain the mesh had to be removed. The mesh had shrunk and twisted. I had to have another surgery 2 months later to remove my right testicle because of the damage the mesh did. In that surgery more mesh was found where it had migrated away from the original surgical site.
I am no longer able to work in my normal profesion as a security and telecommunications technician. I have constant abdominal pain. The area of the surgeries is distended out by 3 inches. I am unable to have sex. I am told that I will probably have the pain and other problems for the rest of my life. It has DEVISTATED me both emotionally and financially.

(Not Kugel) Patch shrunk, hardened, eroded into surrounding tissue, nerves and spermatic cord. There are over 100,000 victims (likely more) of this injury and much of the research was paid for by J & J and bard davol. I have the proof in print and actual DVDs produced by Ethicon!
Numerous persons (over 400) have contacted me as I have formed the National Meshoma Foundation to provide research and referrals to honest surgeons to remove the patches. Many have died or have lost their families, careers, health, etc. Most of the patients need an expert for med mal/fail to warn litigation. The big litigation will be consumer fraud on fail to warn by the manufacturer for not advising the mesh can contract and cause great injury and death.
Every patient, over 100,000 has lost everything, cannot function, severe bowel, nerve injuries from mesh contraction, infertility in males very high incidence due to spermatic cord entrapment. There is no cure for the nerve pain with mesh adherence, and removal of the mesh causes greater injury.
