My 13-year-old daughter received from Abbott Laboratories, Inc. (who produces Similac Infant Formula) samples of the infant formula. I want to know how this corporation received my child's name and why are they sending her this product without any approval from her parents? She is also not pregnant!

I am going to be a crippled due to your drug Lupron. Went into all my joints. Take it off the market.

My 10-month old baby is failing to thrive after drinking of Similac Advance Soy. She has been very ill since. She has been to the doctor and hospital over 15 times due to illness. She was currently discharged from the hospital on Feb. 16, 2011 due and entered on Feb. 9, 2011. She is fed through a feeding tube. Other parents, please call me at **.

My daughter was fed by recalled Similac, was sick for more than two weeks and diarrhea was the main complain. We also found hundreds and hundreds of small bugs in her poop. When we went to get a refund, they just gave us refund on two boxes. We had purchased more than 14 boxes of Similac formula and they denied to give us a total refund.

This is just awful. They charge so much for a small box of formula and this is what we get, formula with bugs in them.

My fourteen year old daughter received on 11/18/10 from Abbott Laboratories, Inc who produces Similac Infant Formula, samples of the infant formula. I want to know how this corporation received my child's name and why are they sending her this product without any approval from her parents? She is also not pregnant!

The Similac recall and problems with contamination of their infant formula caused unnecessary harm to my child. My child has had stomach issues starting from 3 weeks of age up until the day the recall was announced on the news. My child never wanted to eat very much. He was gassy, had chronic diarrhea and is now at only 25% in his weight for his age group. I believe the contaminated formula was the cause of his pain and discomfort and that he would have been better off without ever having consumed this product.

There was a recall on Abbott Similac formula which I have been feeding my newborn son for about six weeks now. I couldn't figure out why my son has had diarrhea for weeks and refuses to eat when he's hungry and now I know it's because there is a bettle/larva contamination in their powder formula.

God only knows how much of this bad formula my son has drank and all they are reimbursing is the two tubs I have left. What about all the other tubs he ate and most importantly what about my son's health! Diarrhea, vomiting, stomach aches, fever. I am truly upset about this. There was nothing in the news, posted in stores, or doctors notified. Luckily, i received an email which I didn't notice for a week. I want to know if there is going to be a class action law suit and how I can be part of it.

As I'm sure you guys must be tired of seeing/hearing about this by now, my 2 month old daughter has been affected by the "beetle larvae". Her symptoms began exactly 1 week ago, upon usage of the "Similac Sensitive - For fussiness and Gas". Her symptoms include: constant diarrhea containing blood of various amounts, mucus + blood in stool, irritability, constant fussiness obviously due to pain in her stomach and gastrointestinal tract, loss of appetite resulting in loss of weight (approx. 1lb in the past week) dehydration and diaper rash.

I've taken her to the doctor and upon her recommendation, switched formulas, and was informed to keep an eye on her stool, and if the bleeding increases or her symptoms worsen, to take her to the hospital. My daughter already has health problems not related to the recent recall of the formula (cardiovascular). She really doesn't need something else to make life worse for her, considering that she only entered into our world 2 months ago.

As for the formula's manufacturer, I seriously doubt anything will happen to them at all. They have gone public with the issue and initiated a recall, but to date, have only offered a simple "refund or exchange" for the affected formulas. Abbott's website has an article regarding this recall, but judging from the wording and overall carelessness on their part, I'd say something needs to be done immediately. Basically, they are saying that " no serious health issues are expected, and gastrointestinal irritation is likely to occur."

It would be one thing if this was affecting an adult, but a 2 month old baby does not have the immune system or gastrointestinal tract to be able to handle the digestion of "Asian Longhorn" beetles, or their larvae. They act like it's no big deal to poison countless babies all across the U.S., but I'm afraid they are mistaken, because this is not something that I am going to let go. The reports of countless people's babies with exactly the same, or very similar symptoms are all over the internet in places like Google and Yahoo Answers.

I just want to know what can be done about this, and how I would go about doing it, because as you are well aware, doctors, hospitals, E.R. visits and medications are not cheap.

My one year old son has been consuming the recalled Similac, lot numbers for approximately four months or longer. He has been having GI trouble and I want to get in on any law suits that are available.

The formula I use to feed my son had matching serial numbers to the products that are being recalled. I fed my son this formula 8 times per day for the last two months and he has had severe abdominal cramping and pain, with a refusal to eat.

First and most importantly, my 4 month old son has had severe abdominal pain and cramping for the last two months. He would fall asleep to take a nap during the day and would wake up screaming. Even while following the precautions to avoid reflux symptoms (which it has not been confirmed that he has reflux, my doctor did not think he had it), he still would arch his back and get into fetal position during a feeding, sometimes refusing to eat at all. He has been put on Zantac since last week because we did not know what else to do.

I have had to take him to the doctors office repeatedly in the last two months to problem solve what is going on with him. I have had to leave work to relieve babysitters who had trouble taking care of him in this condition and to take him to the doctor. I have had to switch formulas, then forced to dispose of almost new containers of various kinds of Similac formulas, all of which were part of this recall. No wonder the problem has not been solved! I switched to liquid Similac a week ago thinking that maybe something in the powder was bothering him and only then did the problem begin to subside.

I know for a fact the Similac container I purchased caused my 10-month old son discomfort. He refused to eat and didn't want to drink the formula but I brushed it off because I didn't know what was wrong. He finished that container and I opened a new one and used a little of it when the recall came about yesterday September 23. When I went online and punched in the numbers to see if my containers were the ones recalled, I nearly fainted and began crying. I was and still am an emotional wreck, the fact that the main supplier of a baby's product and company was negligent. My poor baby can't talk to tell me when something is wrong.

The recall just disgusts me. I am also forced to keep using Similac because switching brands will make my son sick as he has a sensitive stomach. I have to use the liquid since they say that one is safe although I beg to differ. My son would have been on Enfamil but the hospital provided Similac at birth and when I tried switching he got sick. So much blame to go around but nothing can make up for what my son is going through. I will be taking him to the DR on Monday to have him checked out especially his throat area. I will not be sending back the old containers to get my refund because it's not worth it. I might try to see if I can have the current powder I have tested for beetle stuff.

My son developed GI problems due to contaminated recalled Similac. We had been giving him the recalled Similac Advance Early Shield for weeks before we realized it. He had been wanting to eat less and less and we didn't know why. On 9/20/2010 at 1pm, he vomited and used up 14 (fourteen) diarrhea diapers. The next day, he still vomited and used up 11 (eleven) diarrhea diapers. At 8pm of that same day, I called a 24 hour nurse line to find out when and if I needed to bring him to the hospital. This phone call was documented and sent to our pediatrician's office as well. On 9/22/2010, I went to work and found out that Similac had announced a recall for our formula.

I checked all lot numbers and all were affected. He ate 2 tubs and 1 can of the recalled formula. We still have 6 unopened cans of recalled formula at our house. Because of this, my son suffered diarrhea, dehydration, diaper rash due to excessive diarrhea, and vomiting. I suffered parental stress over not being able to figure out what was wrong with my child. He had decreased appetite for 2 weeks, and also resulted in decreased sleep. I had to give cow's milk the morning of 9/23, much earlier than I would have liked until I was able to purchase an alternative brand of formula. It was also obvious that he wasn't feeling good those days, as he was sluggish.

My one-year old son, Karim, who was 11 months at the time, consumed Abbott's recalled Similac infant formula and was violently ill for two days (vomiting and fever). The doctors could not figure out what was wrong. We finally discovered the cause when we were informed of the recall. He is normally a healthy boy. I am very angry and disappointed in this company. I trusted their product and I want answers. My son was sick for several days and required special care. He is still having trouble eating. I am not sure what the impact will be in the long term.

Similac Sensitive has a recall on formula. My son's formula was recalled. I went to fill out the paperwork and it says it will take 4-6 weeks after they send me the FedEx box to get me my refund. This is just not acceptable for me, I buy my own formula and the ones that were recalled were $25 dollars a can. When I tried to call their recall line I got disconnected once. Then after a bunch of button pushing and recordings I finally got the option to talk to a representative. Then it beeped said the line was buys told me to go to the website and disconnected me!

My daughter has eaten at least 4 boxes of the recalled Similac Formula. However, I only have one box left. We just got back from vacation for 4 weeks where she experienced a lot of diarrhea plus extremely bad diaper rash which I have pictures of. We called the doctor from France about this. In addition, my husband and I also had diarrhea throughout the entire vacation taking medication but it never went away. While away, our cat sitter discovered beetles every time she visited out cat in the cat's water, an exterminator was thought since maybe it came from cat food. However, the veterinarian had no issues with any of the food they had sold to other customers and the cat has now shown any stomach issues. We also have seen little beetles in other areas near the kitchen in our home.

Well, my son uses Similac. I have been taking him back and forth to the doctor and been expressing my concerns that he was having problems. I am keeping his formula down. He was also having problems not wanting to eat at times, having constipation and even diarrhea. So the doctor gave me home remedies to try and medicine.

So then I got a text alerting me of this recall because I am signed up with a service that gives me frequent tips and recall alerts. First of all, I got the text hours before Abbott Nutrition even took the initiative to inform me of this recall. Then I found out that we have three of those bad cans of milk. Some of which my baby has already ingested into his system. Then Abbott Nutrition has the nerve to send me an email with an apology and instructions on getting replacement formula.

Are you serious?! What about my baby's pain and discomfort? What about the doctor giving him medicine for no reason because she didn't listen to me when I said there was something wrong with his formula? What about the fact that this bad formula is his last three cans of milk that I get on WIC? What about the fact that I have no money right now to get him any more formula? And this is how Abott repays us? They have to do better than this. My baby has been going through this since he was born and he is seven months old now.

I purchased my daughter milk on 9/15/2010 on that day she got sick. Okay, I'm thinking maybe it's the weather. She drink her milk and I can say we never had this problem before. She threw her whole bottle up, caught a fever and haven't ate anything since then but ginger ale. I am very saddened by this. I'm in school and could be put out for not attending and she's in daycare and could result in the same thing. I just really would like for something to be done by this. I have doctor's notes right before the recall.

I had purchased one tin of baby milk powder (PediaSure, 400g) from M/s. ** in Doha on 13/02/10, which resulted in a vomiting sensation to my 3-year-old daughter. The purchased baby food is tainted, producing bad smell and different taste from other samples; and the container (tin bottom fold) had a manufacturing defect.

I asked for compensation from M/s. Abbott laboratories, but they said that they will not pay compensation but only replace the milk powder. So I kindly request for your advice about how to claim compensation legally. Thank you.

my daughter has been drinking ensure complete balanced nutrition shakes for 4 years. as i normally do i give my daughter her bottle of ensure by breaking the seal for her so she can drink the bottle. this time i hear a scream of disgust from her as she hands me the bottle with a worm on the rim of the bottle.
