Victoria's Secret Customer Service

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Being accused of shoplifting - On May 23, 2012, my sister and I were shopping in a Victoria's Secret store. The sales associate, Anne, asked us if we needed help and we informed her that we were looking at the merchandise and did not need assistance. She followed us through the store and stood watching from each section we went. A security guard entered the store. The security guard walked over to Anne and she pointed at us and started a conversation with the security guard. At this time, the security guard stood and watched my sister and I directly. She stood giving intimidating eye contact and making comments to Anne. We were at the front of the store.

We moved to the middle of the store and the guard followed. The sales associate asked me if I needed help again and stated that we had been in the store long enough to pick something out. At this time, we had been in the store for about 15 to 20 minutes, which is irrelevant as we are paying customers who have the right to take our time to shop. The sales associate then came to my sister and I again and asked if we needed help. I told her at this time, "I think you've asked us enough times if we need help and we don't. You asked us about 20 times. We are paying customers and shopping." The sales associate said, "I hope so, I hope you are paying."

I told her that was a discriminatory comment. She then said she doesn't get paid enough to do this job and as she was talking, the security guard stated that she was watching my sister and I. She said that she was called up and told to watch us. My sister informed her that, "We don't steal and shop at this store constantly; there is no need to follow us." My sister talked to the sales associate, Anne, before on a prior visit, where she stated that she hated how young customers like her come into the store and act, that young people make her sick and she hates when they come in. She then said she hopes she's not like them.

The guard was extremely angry, talking loudly and very unprofessional, stating that she was watching us and following us. My sister asked for a manager and Anne called for the store manager from where she stood. The store manager, Jess, came out and we asked her to move to the other side of the store so that we could talk to her. She walked over with us and we told her exactly what took place. She stated that the security guards were not under her and there was nothing she could do about them. They randomly come into the store whenever they want. We told her that we preferred to talk to management as the employee was discriminating against us. We informed the manager that her employee was as much at fault as she followed us and made discriminatory remarks. The manager did not approach the employee or pull her to the side.

The sales associate and security guard continued to talk about us loudly stating, "people like them steal." What is people like us? We are bi-racial and they were black females. The manager asked us to please take our time shopping and we refused to be chased out of the store, as we were doing nothing wrong. The security guard continued to follow us, at one point, brushing past my sister and I and sighing under her breath to move out of her way. Anne was closing her shift as we shopped and switched shifts with another sales associate. We overheard her informing the new sales associate to watch us. She then said she was leaving for the night.

We picked out our items and I told the new sales associate we come there all the time and we don't steal. There was something said earlier about watching us. She said, "Yes, she told me that and to watch you," and asked if we needed help. Once Anne left the beauty section of the store, we thought she was no longer there. The security guard then left the store completely. When we went to the lingerie section to pay, Anne was in the back of the store pointing and telling other co-workers that we steal. The manager did not pull her to the side and confront her nor did she stop her from slandering and discriminating against us, even once she had been informed.

We paid for our items and went downstairs to the security office to report the guard. Lt. **, the woman at the security counter stated we could file a complaint. She gave us the name of the guard who was in the store and told us that a call came in telling them to come up to the store and follow us. She stated that they do not go into stores unless they are instructed to come in and follow individuals. I asked her if she heard the actual call come in and she stated, "Yes, a call came in to follow you two in the Victoria's Secret store." I asked her if a sales associate called, she said, "Yes, the sales associate called and told us to send someone up to follow two women in the Victoria's Secret store."

We wrote a complaint and took a copy of it. This is unjust and absurd. My sister and I shop in this store on a regular basis and have done so since we were teenagers. We have never stolen, never been suspected of stealing, as we don't steal! We have spent a huge amount of money in this and several other Victoria's Secret stores and at this point, are unsure if we want to shop at this store or mall in the future.

This was a completely discriminatory act from the store and mall security and something needs to be done about it. These individuals harassed us while we shopped and made discriminatory comments. As avid customers, there is no way to begin to describe the feelings brought about from these acts. No person should be made to feel this way, especially as a paying customer who is simply shopping with her sister. I will pursue this to the highest point, as there was no excuse for what took place today and no one "like us" should have to feel what we felt today. An employee represents a company and this store and mall should be held responsible for these acts of discrimination.

I entered the Hattiesburg Mississippi store on 05-22-12 between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. I was never approached by any of the employees after walking around for at least five minutes to ask if I needed any help. My intention was to buy a bathing suit. I finally found one I wanted to try on and began looking for a dressing room. The two ladies, I noticed with the headsets on, walked right by me a few times not saying a word. I finally asked where the dressing room was and she pointed to the far left side of the store. I then went in the dressing room and realized I had the wrong bottom size to the swimsuit. I poked my head out for at least 30 sec to a minute, waiting on someone to assist me.

There was a customer standing close by and kindly flagged the VS worker with the long blonde hair in a low ponytail to come help me. I told her I needed a medium or a large in the swimsuit bottom. She said, "I'm not sure if we have the large size but let me see." So, I was standing in the dressing room with the swimsuit top on and my underwear waiting on her to come back. Well, I waited, and I waited, until I realized she had obviously forgotten about me after about five minutes had passed. I then decided to get dressed and just get it myself. When I was putting my clothes back on, she knocked on the door and said, "Are you doing okay in here?" I said, "Well, I have been waiting all this time for you to return with a different size as I asked." She said, "Well, we didn't have the large." I said, "Well, I said or a medium." She said, "Oh." I said, "Just never mind."

My complaint is: (1) I was not asked for help, I had to ask for help; (2) I was left in the dressing room waiting for way too long and then she seemed to not have any idea why I was still in there; (3) once I came out, the VS employees didn't seem to even notice I was still there. I have shopped online with VS and bought at least two bathing suits, one recently that I love. I didn't realize that VS had swimsuits in the store so I was happy going in that I was going to be able to try on. I would have bought the bathing suit and probably a strapless push-up bra for my beach trip this weekend, but my experience tonight made me just walk out of the store. I hope you replace these ladies or send them to customer service classes.

I went in to the store on March 3 to do my shopping and get my free pink bag. My girls and I spent over $150, and when I entered the store, I asked about the bag and was told that they had plenty and not to worry. When I was checking out, the girl told me she had just sold the last one. She told me that the store got shipments in on Wednesdays and Fridays, so I would be able to pick up my bag. She also said to just bring my receipt and my coupon for the bag and that I would have no problem getting it.

When I returned on Wednesday, March 7, the woman I spoke with in the store was rude and ignorant about the whole thing, telling me that that was just a one-time thing and I would not be getting one. She acted like it was an effort to help me. I am very dissatisfied and angry about the way this was handled. i shop at your stores very often; my girls and I love your products.

Delete Me from Mailing and All Lists: I have requested to be deleted from all mailing and every other list! Two months have past. I don't want information of any kind from them. I don't want them sharing any of my information with any other entity.

I waited in a long line when I work at a store next door and I was on a fifteen-minute break. There were three females ringing customers. When the lady in front of me got to the wrap desk, the one in front of her just walked off. I asked the girl what happened and she said that was the manager and she needed to be back on the floor. She didn't even acknowledge the fact that the lady was next and someone else would get her. I was so put off by her demeanor that I put my item back and left. They had the worst customer service ever! Columbiana Mall in Columbia, SC will no be getting my business. I will drive all the way to Columbia Mall if I can't order it offline.

On December 24, 2005 I was waiting in line to purchase a gift certificate for my mom. When I finally got up to the counter the female employee ignored me as if I wasn't there. It wasn't like she didn't see me. She saw me as I approached her. I told her that I wanted a gift certificate and she just looked at me, turned and laughed to her friend.
Another sales clerk noticed me and asked if I needed help. When I told her that I wanted a gift certificate she alerted the first employee who, all of a sudden, said that her shift was over. Why couldn't she have told me that instead of letting me stand in line?

I don't know what their policies are, but Victoria's Secret needs to train their sales clerks on how to give better customer service to their patrons and stop acting so snotty!

As I shopped at Victoria Secret I was continually followed by two or more employees, including the manager. They acted like I was stealing something. They didn't treat me like a paying customer, but like I was a thief.

I went back a second time, just to see if I was right and they still followed me. When I said something to the manger she got upset and started arguing with me. I told her that I thought she was being unfair and treating me differently. She said she was going to call security and have them escort me out of the store. I left on my own instead, but then she told me I wasn't allowed back in the store just for telling her my opinion very respectfully.

I purchased an item on 1/5/06 with my credit card. They didn't give me a gift receipt and said in order to get one I would have to return the item and ring it up again.
I work for the bank that services my credit card company and noticed that I had been charged for the transaction twice, but had not been credited back for the return. I called Victoria's Secret and spoke with the manager about the transaction. She told me I would have to take it up with the credit card company. I told her that Victoria Secret was responsible for crediting money back to the card at the time of a return, not the credit card company.

I can honestly say that she was the rudest, most unhelpful person I have even spoken with. She kept saying that the credit card company would have to do that because they did not do that in the store. I do not appreciate the way she talked to me, or the fact that the money was not credited back to my card.

As I made a purchase in the Victoria Secret store, I happened to mention to the cashier that the wire on the Victoria's Secret bra that I was wearing had popped out. She informed me that I could swap it out for a new one. Wow! So as she finished my sale (purchasing one bra and exchanging my broken one for a new one) the manager came over. She stated that she could tell by looking at me that the damaged bra was too small and no wonder it broke. I was shocked that she would make such a private matter public to the seven other people in line behind me. I told her this was a conversation that should take place privately in the dressing room.
She then walked from behind the counter to me with a tape measure in her hand, asking when was the last time I was measured, and telling me to raise my arms. I told her you are not going to measure me in front of the entire mall and that this conversation was over. She would not let up and continued to humiliate me in front of the other customers.

She again told me she could tell by looking at me that the bra was not the right size and that if I did not let her measure me, I would not be permitted to exchange any more bras. "Lift up your arms, it will only take a minute." I asked for her district manager's number and told her if this is the way she talks to customers, I don't know how she ever became manager.

I will never shop at Victoria's Secret again, anywhere. The clerks are rude, unprofessional, and poorly trained in security procedures. As a result, they falsely accused me of shoplifting and didn't even apologize when I proved their accusations wrong.
Then at the register (yes, I bought items despite my experience) the clerk wrote down all the information from my driver's license, ostensibly because my credit card didn't swipe. I believe she took more information than necessary. I would like to know the store policy for taking personal information from customers when a credit card has to be keyed in instead of swiped.

I am angry and will never shop at Victoria's Secret again. The unprofessional behavior of the salesgirls was insulting and rude. I was publicly embarrassed and emotionally distressed.

Went into the store to purchase a bra set and was told they didn't sell in my size and to go to the Lane Bryant store, or I could buy a catalog for $5 to purchase my size.

I feel I was discriminated against because of my size.

On 12/30, my mother gave me a "20% on any purchase of $30 or more" Victoria's Secret coupon from the newspaper. Even though I had previously said that I would never to go back into this store, this offer was too good to be true.

I arrived at the store on the 30th and proceeded to shop until I found a bra that I really liked. I went up to the counter and gave them my coupon and my bra. They rang it up and my total was $42 plus tax, I didn't realize that they didn't add in the discount until right after I had signed. The lady at the counter told me that the coupon was a misprint and that they could not honor it. Then she told me that I couldn't return my purchase, even though I was standing right in front of her.

The employees in that particular Victoria's Secret are very rude.

I was purchasing two bags with fragrance packages inside them. The sales associate rang it up at the ticket price of $5.00. As I was preparing to pay by credit card, the Assistant Manager, Stepanie, ran over and snatched the bags from the sales associate stating that only the bag is $5.00 and the fragrances inside are to be invidually charged. The sales associate looked confused and then the Assistant Mgr. told her to void out the sale. I questioned where was the sign stating that only the bag was $5.00 and that every bag on the table was exactly the same. The assistant manager went over to the table and began tearing off the $5.00 price tag from the bags and told me that she would not sell it to me at the ticket price of $5.00. She then gave me her managers name and store number and told me to call her tommorow to settle it.

I then went to Mall Management and Police Officer A. Brewster took my story and then went to the store to see the table and merchandise. After seeing the table with the merchandise he then told me that it was misleading and false advertisement and to contact the store manager first thing on December 24th, that the store is obviously wrong and they should give me the merchandise for the advertised ticket price. On December 24, 2004 I went into the store to speak with the manager, Lara. Lara took me over to the table and showed me that there was now a sign stating the bags only are $5.00 and that yesterday they didn't have enough room on the table to display the sign. She then accused me of trying to get something for nothing and telling me I was having a miserable Christmas and must me a miserable person.

Lara also would not check the register logs to find the voided sale confirming my story instead she told me that the sales associate was not available and so she can't say what she knew. I told her that two sales persons had checked the accuracy of the price and the sales was already rung up and it was wrong for the assistant manager to snatch the merchandise and tear off the $5.00 price tag. As we were standing by the table 2 customers came over inquiring the price of the bag and the contents and she showed them the sign and told them the complete price for the contents in the bag and that even though the contents are in the bags it's just for display and each piece is individually priced. Lara, then turns to me and say, "sometime customers get confused."

I at this time asked for the District Managers name and contact information and Lara refused to give it to me stating that the information was confidential. I then left the store and again went to Mall Management where I spoke with Officer Adams who informed me that she had heard about Lara being rude to other customers. The Mall Manager then gave me the District Managers name and number. I called and left a voice message detailing the incident and asking for a return call back. I am an avid Victoria Secret shopper and I would like to see this issue resolved professionally and in a reasonable amount of time. Lara, the store manager needs to learn how to speak to customers and not use hand gestures and make opinionated statements..she was extremely rude and I will never purchase anything from the store with her as the manager.

Victoria's Secret has the poorest customer service I've ever experienced. I placed an online order for a gift certificate for my friend's birthday. Over 3 weeks later, not hearing from my friend, I called to confirm she had indeed received the gift certificate. She had not and her birthday had since passed. I placed a call to Victoria's Secret and they too confirmed the certificate wasn't sent. The retailer couldn't tell me why and offered no reason that I was not at least informed by phone or email (or at all in any way) that my order was processed, then ignored.

Not only did I not get answers, but I was met with snotty attitudes by what turned out to be 3 phone representatives. All I wanted was an explanation and an e-mail confirmation that my certificate would then be sent (even though my friend's b-day had already passed. I was met with only quick, evasive comments and the runaround. I finally cancelled my order completely.

They missed my friend's birthday and made me look and feel like a heel.

I placed an order over the internet that cost a total (including tax and shipping) of $207.42, and I received $30 off because the order was over $150. So I paid a total of $177.42. Well, one dress that cost $25 was the only thing that fit right, so I sent everything else back. So, I figured I would receive a return of anywhere from $140-$150. Imagine how surprised I was when I only received $123.

I thought, "no problem, must be simple mistake. I will call customer service and get this straightened out." Well, come to find out when you return something from victoria's secret and your final purchases that you keep fall below $150, then they keep the $30 discount that they gave. This totally infuriates because in essence I have paid $55 for a $25 dress. They have stolen $30 from me. I am so mad. I will never order anything from them again, or step foot in one of their stores.

Victoria's Secret sometimes has their special offers that attract many of their clients to order a huge amount of merchandise all at once. I am one of them. For example, if you buy $100 worth, you get $30 off your order. The next one up for $250 worth and $75 off is the one I usually do. This makes your actual merchandise that you order basically discounted. For example, if the boots you ordered were $60, you probably really paid $30.
This has created so many problems with me when something doesn't fit and I have to send it back for an even exchange. At least on six different orders, I have been double charged or have lost my whole special offer and handling fees. I sent a pair of shoes for an even exchange one time for the amount of $60. Instead of doing an excnage like I requested, they refund a few bucks back to my card and make a whole new order where I am now being charged for the new item in full at $60 plus shipping, without even making me aware.
One time, I sent a package with two separate exchanges inside individually wrapped, but in the same box. They said they received one, but not the other! How can that be? They have made so much money of messing up my orders. Not to mention, their representatives are total twits. They certainly know about the special offer when you are making the order, but when you have already spent your money, they don't know what you are talking about!

There were some orders that I had to pay for that I never received. There were some orders that I was double charged, and some that I returned but never got the refund for.

I bought some items at Victoria Secret. They asked me at the time if they could ring another transaction with mine. They told me that I would never be able to tell. I stated that as long as I it is not on my bill and I am not going to be charged for it that was fine. When the transaction was completed they gave the other customer her receipt and then gave me mine.

As I was walking through the mall I noticed that there was an item that I was overcharged for. I had also noticed that on the receipt I was holding it had the other customers name and credit card information along with my name and credit card information. If I have all this I think that the chances are pretty good that she has mine. I Contacted V.S. claim department by phone and by mail. An adjuster called me back and left a message. I was advised that they contacted the store and that to the best of their records they are pretty sure that the other person doesnt have mine.

I have requested something in writting stating that they would accept liablity for any damages. I'm getting nowhere! I can't get a letter and I'm getting no satisfaction.

My sister ordered a sweater for my birthday in July. It is now September and the order is still on back order. The service is unacceptable. Anyone who orders will be charged immediately with no item to show for. I am still bargaining for the shipment of this pathetic sweater.

I do not personally shop at Victoria's Secret anymore. The underwire bras are horrible, cheaply manufactured, and fall apart everytime. Try Fredericks of Hollywood, they ship their orders and to my surprise and yours they have high-quality bras for women who are serious about a decent look and quality.
