Friedman's - Sizing & Repair

Nancy of Woodstock GA (5/29/04):
Took my wedding band in to be made larger on May 20, 2004 and was told I could get in on Monday, May 24. I called first before going there and was told they had lost it. Then they found it and I went in the next day to get it but it was made into a size 6 instead of the 8 1/4 on my sales slip.

The clerk measured my finger. They redid the ring which also mutilated it and made it into an 8 1/4 which was then too large so they again resized it to an 8 with beads inside. It is still too large but I refused to let them cut it again. It is a mess.

The edges HAD beading and now they are partially gone and the cutting has left marks and it still isn't right. The original cost was $38 and they settled for half but my ring is ruined. It is 27 years old but very precious to me.

Mark of Galax VA (4/28/04):
I bought my fiancé her engagement ring at this store and was told if it did not fit that they would size it for her. (I have bought several peices of jewelry from this store but never will again.) At first when I went in to buy the ring I had to wait almost 45 minutes for anyone to even speak to me or to help me. Then when she went back to get the ring sized and cleaned they were so rude to her that she came home crying.

They took one minute to clean the ring you could not even tell they had touched it. Then referred her to another jeweler to have it sized (Roy's Diamond Center). They made her feel like she was not good enough to even be in their store. No one should ever be made to feel that way in any store or business.

Dawn of Maringouin LA (10/22/02):
I went to pick up my wedding set from being soldered and they had the wrong ring in the bag. My ring, I guess, went to someone else but to sum up they lost it. The person working thought it was humorous whitch I surely did not. She did not handle the problem professionaly at all, it took her an hour before she gave me an answer to the problem. Finally after it took me getting very upset and crying she finally replaced it with the same ring I had, but where's the sentimental value of that?

Rick of Bonham TX (7/10/02):
My two sons bought me a watch for Father's Day from the local Friedman's. The band was too big so I took it back to get it sized a week or so after they gave it to me. The young lady there said the jeweler had quit and to come back later. I left and a couple of weeks later, went back and the lady told me they did not have the ability to fix it.

She said to take it to one of the other local stores to get it fixed. I inquired if they would contact the other store to arrange getting it paid for. Her reply was, "It's your watch, not ours." I went home, got my receipt and asked for my money back. I was informed the home office would have to mail me a check.

This is a local business in a small town. If they can't service their customers, then they need to move on. My two sons are very disappointed that the gift they gave me could not be fixed.
