Friedman's - Credit & Billing

Chastity of Pink Hill NC (12/17/04):
I opened a new account in July 2002. I added things to the account as I time went on. A total of $1,408.67 was my balance. I faithfully paid on this account for a year, my balance never seemed to go down. I gathered all my paperwork and took it to them for review. They stated that everytime I added a new item I was being charged 24% interest on that item instead of 24% for all items on the account. They state I still owe $1,200 on this account after making payments of $100.00 a month for a year. The account should have been close to being paid off.

It resulted in my not giving them another red cent. My credit is screwed up np thanks to them and I can't open another account with another store unitl their debt is paid. They also did the same thing to my mother in law so she refuses to shop there anymore as do I.

David of Mooresville NC (9/3/03):
I was led to believe that I would be receiving a statement when payment for the item I purchased was due. I never received a statement or any other contact advising me of my bill being due until I received a phone call from a Friedman's representative informing me of my bill being past due.

Now I have a late payment status on my credit reports that is affecting me with certain credit agencies.

Nicole of Auburn GA (8/22/03):
I was 6 days past due on my account and Wanda called me at work. I told her I could not have personal calls at work and I would have to call her back. An hour later she called back and held for me for 15 minutes. I was in the middle of resolving a problem for a customer. I picked up the line to tell her not to call me at work that I could not have personal calls at work and I hung up. She called right back I told her again I could not have personal calls. She called back a fourth and the girl that answered told her that she believed I had already told her I could not have personal calls at work.

Wanda then told her that she needed to talk to Human Resources because if I did not make payment arrangements with her she was going to garnish my wages. She had no right to say that to anyone and cannot garnish my wages until they take me to court. I have called and left a message at the corporate office. Their manager is out of town until Monday. This company is horrible to deal with. Everyone at my office knows what is going on.
