Chrysler is recalling nearly 250,000 Chrysler and Dodge vans because of an electrical system problem that could cause the engine to shut off without warning. The recalled models include:
Vehicle Make / Model: |
| Model Year(s): |
CHRYSLER / TOWN&COUNTRY |
| 2010 |
DODGE / GRAND CARAVAN |
| 2010 |
DODGE / JOURNEY AWD |
| 2010 |
Chrysler said the recalled vehicles were made between August 3, 2009 and June 17, 2010.
The problem is that the ignition key may move from the “run” to “accessory” position while the car is in motion, causing the engine to shut off.
Dealers will replace the suspect parts free of charge when the recall begins during April 2011.
Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
