General Motors is recalling selected Buick Lacrosse and Cadillac SRX cars from the 2011 model year because of a problem with the windshield defrosting and defogging systems.
The company said that a software glitch may disable the driver's ability to adjust the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. This could decrease visibility and cause a crash.
Dealers will fix the problem free of charge when the recall begins March 11.
Owners may contact Buick at 1-866-608-8080, Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339 or at the owner center at www.gmownercenter.com.
