Craftsman Riding Mowers Recalled

Side discharge chute may not be fully secured

Briggs & Stratton is recalling about 500 Craftsman riding mowers sold at Sears stores.

The side discharge chutes on the mowers may not be fully secured. Bolts can be forcefully discharged from mower if not properly tightened, possibly injuring the mower operator or bystanders.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled riding mowers and contact Sears for a free inspection and repair. Sears is sending consumers letters with information on scheduling an inspection and repair.

The firm has received one report of a bolt that discharged forcefully, breaking a window.
