True Value Recalls Wheelbarrows

February 18, 2009
True Value is recalling about 17,000 "Green Thumb" twin wheelbarrows. Over-inflating the tire could cause the wheel's plastic rim to break, posing an injury hazard to the user.

True Value has received two reports of the plastic rim breaking. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled wheelbarrow has tan plastic wheel rims, a black plastic tray and steel handles and axle.

The wheelbarrows were sold at True Value stores nationwide from September 2008 through October 2008 for about $80. They were made in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wheelbarrows and return them to any True Value store for a full refund.

For additional information, call True Value at (800) 621-6025 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.truevalue.com.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
