J.C. Penney Deluxe Wood Art Sets

J.C. Penney is recalling about 19,000 wood art sets. Surface paint on the outside of the wooden box contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

The recalled art set, made in Taiwan and Vietnam, consists of a wooden box with several pull-out trays containing 177 different art items, including paints and brushes.

The sets were sold through the J.C. Penney catalog and Web site from September 2005 through August 2007 for about $40.

Consumers should take the recalled products away from young children immediately and return it to any J.C. Penney store for a full refund.
