Children's Metal Jewelry

June 21, 2005
Spandrel Sales and Marketing is recalling about 200,000 sets of children's metal jewelry because of a lead poisoning hazard.

The recalled jewelry includes pendants that hang from silver-colored bracelet and necklace chains, and silver-colored rings with a charm on top.

Charm shapes include silver-colored crosses, suns, moons, stars, butterflies, cupids, angels, keys, elephants, hands, cell phones, fish, and shoes.

The items were sold through vending machines located in malls, discount, department and grocery stores nationwide from February 2007 through March 2007 for 25 cents.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled rings and necklaces away from children and throw them away.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Spandrel Sales and Marketing toll-free at (877) 213-0500 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.ssmvending.com.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
