Jaguar Recalled for Moonroof Defect

January 27, 2006
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is recalling 2,675 Jaguar XJs because the moonroof may shatter raining glass down upon the vehicle occupants.

A reinforcement bar for the XJ was incorrectly assembled and may contact the moonroof when a door is closed or the car hits a severe bump in the road causing the glass to shatter and posing a risk of injury.

Dealers will replace the moonroof free of charge. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or got to www.safercar.gov.
