Chrysler Recalls 145,000 Dodge Ram, Durango Trucks |

September 7, 2006
In the Ram pickups, the passenger airbag may not be compatible with a limited number of rear-facing child seat models when the passenger seat is in the full forward position and an airbag deploys, according to Chrysler. Chrysler also plans to replace the front passenger seat belt assembly in the same model trucks and in an additional 15,151 vehicles because the front passenger seat belt may not allow the owner to properly secure some child restraint systems, the automaker said. The Dodge Durango recall, according to Chrysler, is to prevent the possibility of a fire inside the console. "In these vehicles, if liquid is spilled from the cup holder onto the console wiring connector, this could result in a high resistance short circuit with the potential for fires," the company said.
