Cadillac Recalled for Computer Glitch |
January 30, 2006
CTS and STS models with the V6 engine "may have a situation where fuel is no longer supplied to the engine," according to NHTSA. "This condition occurs without the illumination of the fuel level low indication light or the warning chime," according to the agency. NHTSA reports that if the Cadillac engine stops running, the driver may not be able to restart the vehicle. Cadillac dealers will reprogram the electronic control module in the car with new software free of charge. Owners of the Cadillac CTS and STS were notified in December to maintain at least a quarter of a tank of fuel to avoid the condition. Owners may contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339 or NHTSA 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153). |
