Possible Pinched Finger Prompts Nissan Quest Recall

Nissan North America is recalling 109,437 Quest minivans because an adjustment mechanism on the second-row seats may cause injuries, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

NHTSA reports that the vehicles involved in the recall are from the 2004-2006 model years.

"Someone attempting to operate the second row seat adjuster may pinch a finger in the moving seat adjustment mechanism which could cause an injury," NHTSA says.

On Quest Minivans built through June 28, 2004, dealers will replace and reinforce the inboard second row seat adjustment. On vehicles produced after June, 29 through September 26, 2005 dealers will only reinforce the adjuster.

The recall will begin on December 15, 2005.
