Martha Stewart Full Moon Lantern

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is recalling about 1,700 Full Moon Lantern sets. The lantern can overheat and melt or ignite, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

There have been 11 consumer complaints including reports of overheating, melting and fire. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves Full Moon Lanterns sold by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. The lanterns were sold in the following three different Halloween themes: Bat (Model # XPM 012A), Flying Witch (Model # XPM 012B), and Jack O-Lantern (Model # XPM 012C).

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. sold the recalled Full Moon Lanterns through its on-line and print catalog, “Martha Stewart: The Catalog for Living,” from September 1, 2004 through October 31, 2004 at $19 for a set of two lanterns.

Consumers should stop using the recalled lamps immediately. Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. is directly contacting all affected consumers to arrange for a full refund.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
