Karen of Rochester, MN September 16, 2009 I have had nothing but problems with TransUnion from day one. I cannot understand why these employees are not trained to do their jobs. They go out of their way to be rude. Refuse to delete old accounts, refuse to update your file and refuse to delete anything that they don't personally feel like deleting. I have never had a problem with Equifax. In fact, to the contrary. They are courteous and helpful. Why is it that with two outstanding credit bureaus, we even need a third? TransUnion makes certain that if you dispute even one item in your file, that you are locked out of their system entirely. Their site has double and triple billed me for credit reports and scores and they refuse to refund me! All they say is that "my system shows that you were only billed once." They also "claim" to investigate your dispute but they don't. I know for an absolute FACT that they don't because neither Equifax, Experian or myself could verify ANY of these accounts they've put in my file. In the end and because of TransUnion and TransUnion only, I cannot even get a mortgage and I have (had) GOOD credit. Where is the recourse? How in this day and age in THIS country can this actually be? James of Lakeville, CT September 8, 2009 I've recently received several letters denying me the credit I applied for at car dealerships in my area regarding purchase/ lease (hadn't decided which). The letters stated that TransUnion Credit had been the negative reporter about my credit. I was denied an online report, I assume due to a previous credit watch I placed on my credit (ex wife situation ). So I had to apply for a credit report by mail. When the response to why I had been denied credit came back, it was in the form of what TransUnion needs by mail to verify my identity, including, in my case, a copy of my passport (proof of birth date), driver's license and utility bill (proof of address), and Medicare card (proof of social security number ). I must explain that the form letter and disclosure form I received from TransUnion reported 'UNABLE TO LOCATE CREDIT REPORT'. I have had a credit history not for years, but for DECADES. How could they not have credit reports. I received online reports from creditreports.com (from the three agencies) less than a year ago. Obviously, TransUnion is a very chaos- filled business with computer info that is incorrectly stored and accessed. Their inaccuracies involve millions of people's lives, including mine! Before I send these required documents to TransUnion's PO box address (which means I can't protect the above very important items properly when sending them), I need verification that I should do so. I would appreciate a response asap because of this time sensitive situation. Denied credit by two car dealerships when applying for credit to purchase/ lease an automobile. john of linden , MI August 26, 2009 You have a credit card last 4 numbers (4239) charged to me, I dont have any cards I am 75 and retired not married and dont drive, please take it off my credit report. I have been denied the use of a 500 credit card with my bank Lavonne of Alton, VA August 26, 2009 I was remarried in 2007 at which time I requested a credit report from all 3 agencies. Did this with the intentions of making myself aware of what was on my credit reports. TransUnion refused to send me a credit report, though I have lived in the same place and house since 2004. (with a name like Lavonne, how likely is it that another woman of that name would live in the same location?!?!) The other 2 credit agencies assisted me and very politely might I add. Now TransUnion is still denying me access to my credit report! Ok, this information belongs to me, affects my life, yet I cannot gain access to it because they want to "play games!" My next contact is the Federal Trade Commission. When enough people complain about this company that is denying 1000's of people access to THEIR CREDIT REPORT, someone in OUR GOVERNMENT AGENCY will take notice and put an end to their shanagigans! Angela of Milwaukee, WI August 24, 2009 My name has been changed for 6 years now and they still do not have the correct name. About 7 or 8 years ago I had a situation of identity theft occur. They have not corrected the information. I had addresses and account showing up on my credit that are not mine and still am having that problem. When I try to contact them I cannot pass the security questions because they still have the wrong name. Also there was one account that I have disputed off that keeps getting sold to collection agencies and re-surfacing. I finally got incorrect addresses removed from my credit report but the accounts associated with them have not been removed, most just finally fell off. Carol of San Antonio, TX August 23, 2009 Hi I wanted to say I do not agree with the way Trans Union treated me over the phone. I was told I could get a free credit report and view it for 30 days online. I first signed up for the service on July 23 2009. Although, I did not receive a link to my report until July 25 2009. I dont have a printer at home and I thought I had 30 days to go back to the website and print it out. When I returned to the Trans Union Website It was today August 25 2009. It would not let me view the report. The person I spoke with said that since I orignally signed up on July 23 it has been 30 days! I tried to explain to him it had not been and I could send him the e-mail with the date to prove it but he did not want me to do that. So I asked him if I could receive my credit report in the mail. He said I would have to buy one. Funny, "my Credit Report" with my information on it and I have to buy it! Even though they were the ones who made the mistake in the first place. There should be some sort of law against this. We should be able to view our information for free since it is our personal information. I will not trust Trans Union anymore. Lorraine of Lancaster, PA August 17, 2009 Good luck trying to cancel. I have been trying for eight months and every month, like clockword, the charge shows up on my statement. Despite 7 phone calls including another 8 today, nothing is resolved. They had my address at one I haven't lived in nine years. They refuse to refund my monthly fee despite trying to cancel since January. I was cut off several times, re-routed and ultimately resolved nothing. I now have phone calls into the President of TransUnion, Bobby M; the VP of Communications and the President of Consumer Relations. Next step are the networks. We'll see if I get a phone call back. Granted it's only 80. but it's the principle. I am a media relations person and if my company treated people like this, I wouldn't blame them for going to the news channels. karen of birmingham , AL August 11, 2009 I received a letter from this company that detailed that I had asked for an additional advance of credit on an account. I did not ask for this and I do not know why they wrote me or have information about my accounts. I cannot reach a human contact on their phone line. Rober of Chicago, IL August 7, 2009 On 8-7-09 I went online through an SBA link to get my free credit report. I was sent Annual Credit Report and gave out my personal informaition because they offered to get my free credit report. Then I came to Trans Union after a hassle w/ACR and filled outthe same infor, no progrees. I was then linked to True credit wich asked for the same information. I called what I believed to be T.U. to help me navigate through all the adds from ACR & TCR to my free credit report. During this conversation I learned thatTUCR/ACR/TCR are all the same company. I do not understand. Trans Union by law is to give a free credit report every 12 mo. but they seem to try to confuse the consumer with their other companies. elizabeth of Austin, TX August 7, 2009 I have an account on Transunion.com and I received a free credit report. When I went back to get access to it, I kept being directed to another place where I would have to provide a credit card number for extra bells and whistles I did not want. When I tried to call the help desk, I was directed round and round and round until I finally hung up in total disgust! Report Your Experience
