atcostdrugs.com

Anne of Renton, WA, writes:
I went to the atcostdrugs.com site, read their strange agreement and went on to the medical interview form. I filled it all out including current medications and medical conditions. I accidently clicked "Yes" on the "Have you been treated for Substance Abuse" and to their credit was "Denied".

I resubmitted the form and changed that one item and noted that I was NOT making TWO orders, only one. Well, I was immediately "Approved" for a diet drug: Tenuate Dospan- which upon further reading scared me so much I decided to cancel my order. I sent FIVE e-mails to their "Customer Service" e-mail address and did not receive even ONE response.

I took steps to make sure they could not get funds from my account, however, I am now going to have to change my account number, get a new card and go through various other hassels to protect myself from these guys.

My advice to those seeking low-cost meds: get a Rx from your own doctor and shop the legitimate sites that require a prescription. All these sites that promise "No Prescription Needed" are just out to get your money and couldn't care less about customer service.

The drug they promised to send me (I later found out) is a controlled substance and can not be legally sold over the internet.

OK, Anne may have been naive to order the stuff in the first place. But she's persistent and got it straightened out. Here's her follow-up email from 4/3/01:

By the way- to anyone who gets zapped by "At-Cost Drugs" I DID find their direct phone number- it's Mock's Pharmacy at 318-396-1431. Ask for Jonathan. They will NEVER answer your e-mail or take care of complaints unless you let them know you know who they REALLY are.

You can also contact their parent company "Health America" and the company that does their web hosting. Believe me, they finally had enough of my phone calls and threats of the Postmaster General and the AG in our state and decided to fork over a refund.

They promise drugs, bill your card, tell you it's shipped, and then, oopsy, tell you they are out of the drug but will ship it "soon"...HA! Unless you really fight them you get bupkas!
