I purchased a chocolate lab on December 21st 2002 that seemed sickly from the onset. They told me it was the "long trip from Ohio". They handed me a form from a local vet saying he passed all the tests to qualify for being a "healthy puppy".
I took him to the West Hills Animal hospital for a exam two days later. He was diagnosed with worms, severe ear mites and kennel cough which turned into full-blown pneumonia within a week. My dog was on more medication in the first 6 months of his life than most humans take in a lifetime. The vet told me I rescued him.
No way the Yuppy Puppy would invest thousands on an animal that would only net them hundreds. The owner of the company told me to "return him for another" Does he think he is in the car business? I was livid. The insurance company told me I had to wait to submit all paperwork for reimbursement until the treatment was finished. 8 months later when he was finally off cipro..etc. They denied my claim for a "lapse of time."

My dog almost died. He has asthma and will never be 100% healthy. I took off from work to go home and give him his medicine 3 times a day for 5 months. I spent thousands of dollars to make him well while Yuppy Puppymill keeps raking in the cash.
