The Von Falconer K-9 training facility is not only an ordinary dog kennel or dog training school. They are also a police K-9 training center for Santa Cruz, California. They sell their dogs from $1250~$8500 and up. Such a dog kennel should be safe to purchase a dog from. Unfortunately, the truth is not. The Von Falconer K-9 training facility is suspicious to intentionally sell a high-drive and hard-to-handle puppy to a family as a pet dog, when the buyer cannot handle the dog and give up and return the dog to them.
They will: (1) convince the buyer to pay for their training class to make more out of a sale, and (2) take the dog back without refund and train the returned dog and sell it as "protection dog" for a way much higher price. They do offer replacement. But if you take the replacement option, most likely you will be in the same trick cycle again. And they breach their own contract easily. Do not be fooled by the "Santa Cruz Police K-9 training facility" title.
This kennel is selling dogs which were returned in order to resell and refund their customer. Instead of following the resale and refund contract, they want to keep this returned dog and sell it for a much higher price without refund to their customer. Ironically, they made that contract and breached it all by themselves.
Please read and get to know how a police K-9 training center acts like a criminal: On March 23, 2010, I purchased a $1150 German shepherd female puppy from Von Falconer canine training facility. I have been told the German shepherd puppy has calm personality as I requested. The sire's (father dog) name is Heiko; the dam's (mother dog) name is Bowie. And both sire and dam are imported from Czechoslovakia.
The same night when we arrived home, we found the puppy was crying while drinking, eating, running, and even while being held in my arms. The puppy ran with full speed and hit the walls and fences with her head whenever she has a chance. Thus, I started to think this puppy is not normal and considered to return the puppy.
On March 24, 2010, Von Falconer e-mailed all of a sudden to tell us that the puppy's dam is not Bowie but Nanas and that the dam on the contract is another dog, which is different from the contract I signed with them. The sire and dam are so important when you buy a dog. So I requested to return this puppy and asked for a refund, but I had been ignored.
On March 25, 2010, Von falconer agreed to take the puppy back and refund us after they resell this puppy. On March 26, 2010, I returned the puppy and signed another contract with Von Falconer which states that Von Falconer canine training facility will refund us $1150 after they resell this puppy, and the process may take up to four months.
They named the female puppy Lilly which is very close to my wife's name Lily, and listed the puppy for $2000 on their website, despite that I have asked them to lower the listing price in order to sell easier and refund us. My wife and I are really stressed and being deeply insulted. Three months later, they asked us to pay for the boarding and training fee for this puppy, and they will start to charge me $60 per day for boarding this puppy from June 12, 2010. But I did not have any agreement on training and boarding for this puppy with them nor was I told there will be fees to resell the puppy.
On July 6, 2010, Von Falconer canine training facility e-mailed to inform us that they will eat boarding and training fee by themselves, but they demanded me to pick up the puppy within 72 hours or they will cancel the contract and keep the puppy they agreed to resell for me in order to refund me. This meant that I will lose $1150 for nothing and they will not refund me. Von Falconer K-9 training facility will keep the puppy I paid for and continue to sell her for $2000.
What happened to me is a fraud with ridiculous demands. This training facility is acting like gangsters and robbers. They did not only try to trick me for money, but they also insulted my wife by naming a female dog after a name close to my wife's name. I want to take my $1150 back from them. And when they named a female dog with a very similar name to my wife's name, this issue is not only about money any more.
I do not accept puppy replacement, since this kennel lied to me from the very beginning till the end about the puppy's temperament and pedigree and all the ridiculous fees they tried to charge. I do not want to pay even a penny to them nor buy dog from them. I have e-mails and contracts as evidence to prove what I claim is true. I hope everyone who is looking for a dog can be aware of this kennel.
