I am writing in response to the posts regarding Puppy Country ... I worked for Dr. Bellows and remember Chloe, as well as most of the animals that complaints were posted about.
Furthermore, I used to go to Puppy Country to collect fecal samples from the animals. The conditions they live in are crowded, not terribly clean, and the animals that don't make it for display, many times die of parvo.
I have been a technician for close to five years, and never did I see a case of parvo until I worked for Dr. Bellows. All of the parvo cases were from Puppy Country, and as we all know, this is a highly contagious disease, and a particularly gruesome way for any creature to die.
Dr. Bellows is an outstanding veterinarian, and I always had the feeling that he does business with them because sure, they pull in 40% or so of his business, but he wants to save all the animals that he can. Unfortunately, most die, or are doomed to a life of misery due to bad breeding.
Puppy Country, for a long time, was known to me as Parvo Country, and buying a dog from there is buying heartache. Do not be fooled by Jennifer's shaky defense of this little death house in a strip mall.
I quit my job because I did not want to be associated with anything about Puppy Country, and have since discouraged people from even browsing in there.
