We received the following response on March 30, 2006:
A total of ten complaints appear on this website regarding our company, most of which are well over one year old. Our company has more than one hundred thousand active internet customers and we have sold more than one million products in our twenty-three year history. Currently, we have a satisfactory BBB rating with no open complaints (see www.bbb.org).
We have a 99% positive ebay feedback rating (see http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=hightechpet) We provide high quality, extremely innovative products and pride ourselves on an extremely dedicated and diligent customer service staff. We are very close to our goal of one hundred percent customer satisfaction.
We question the complaints on this page as there is no way for us to verify their validity from the information provided. We do represent that we have no open customer complaints at this time.
We find it unconscionable that a website such as consumeraffairs.com, which is not sanctioned by any government or private consumer watch dog group and exists solely for the purpose of selling keyword advertising, should for the purpose of selling such advertising present a web page to the world that falsely taints the reputations of companies such as ours. We are considering legal action against their company.
We ask that intelligent consumers ignore the bunk printed on this website and do diligent research to determine the integrity of the internet merchants with which they desire to do business.
If as a consumer, you have any questions about our products or services, you may contact me personally.

Maybe so, but as of this writing, we have more than 60 complaints about High Tech Pet in our database. As we explain ad infinitum, we publish only selected complaints so as to avoid needless repetition. Maybe we only hear from soreheads -- it's up to the individual consumer to make that judgment.
As for Mr. Bonge's comments about our site, we have been around since 1998, long before keyword advertising and we plan to be around regardless of what happens to the online ad market. This is a free country, Mr. Bonge. Consumers don't need your permission to discuss their experiences and we don't need anyone's permission to publish those comments. Be careful what you say -- we have lawyers too, you know.
Report Your Experience If you've had a bad experience -- or a good one -- with a consumer product or service, we'd like to hear about it. All complaints are reviewed by class action attorneys and are considered for publication on our site. Knowledge is power! Help spread the word. File your consumer report now.
