Carousel Pet Groomers

On behalf of Carousel Pet Grooming, I can assure our customers that we use all the care and love needed to work with your dogs. The reason it took so long for this customer was most likely that we were very busy. At times, we have over 50-70 dogs in one day. It was not because we were trying to hide or disguise anything. This was a tragic incident and we are sad that it happened. We just want to mention that this happened almost 10 years ago and we have never had another incident like this one.

We can assure you that we do call if our customer's dogs are too much for us to handle. However, we have groomers that have over 30 years experience, and again, this was just a tragic accident that regrettably happened to a good person. We want to apologize again for this customer and rest assure, we love all of our animals here at Carousel.

My dog is about 8 months old and has been trained to go to the bathroom for a very long time. He is a great dog and learned so quickly to bark at the front door when he needs to go. On Fathers Day weekend my husband and I made a last minute trip to Mexico and found this place on the web. We hadn't been there before so we called and went and checked it out.

It seemed to be nice, they told us the dogs are walked a lot, showed us where he would sleep, and that he would be out playing with the other dogs during the day. We gave them a bag of food, some toys and went on our way. When I went to pick him up he was no where to be found. When the women went in back I saw that he was not in the big kennel, like I was told he would only be sleeping in, but a tiny one in the back.

They brought out his toys but didn't know which food was his. When I told them the brand they found it and it was covered in big chunks of dog fur. My dog is a mini bull terrier, he has short hair. I have no idea which dog had chunks of hair all over my dogs food. They gave him a bath they said cause he "spilled water on himself." When he got home I noticed that he had big sores on his belly and neck, and a rash. He has since been peeing everywhere in the house.

I went to kiss him good night and felt something wet, when I turned on the light I saw he had gone to the bathroom all over his bed and was sleeping in it. When I've caught him peeing on the carpet he has his tail between his legs, and big scared eyes. He isn't even barking to go out. He has also been sick when he poops, a sign perhaps that his food was switch. I guess I can never know what happend, but my thoughts are that they didn't let him out of his tiny kennel, he wet himself and was forced to stay in it. All I know is my dog is not the same and I am sick with guilt over taking him to a place like that.

10-20-01 AT ABOUT 8:00AM I TOOK MY DOG TO CAROUSEL PET GROOMERS TO BE GROOMED, THIS IS THE 2ND TIME HE HAD BEEN THERE THE DOG WAS ABOUT 5 1/2 MONTHS OLD STILL VERY MUCH A PUPPY. THE 1ST VISIT I HAD THE DOG BACK AT 11:00 OR 11:30 WITH NO PROBLEM.

THIS TIME ON THE 20TH THERE SEEMED TO BE SOMETHING WRONG, AT 12:00 I WAS WONDERING WHY I HAVE'NT HEARD FROM THE GROOMERS I FIGURED THEY WHERE BUSY SO I GAVE THEM MORE TIME, AT 2:30 I CALLED TO SEE IF MY DOG WAS READY FOR ME, THEY REPORTED THAT HE STILL WAS NOT READY, AT APPROXIMATELY 3:45 THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW MY DOG WAS READY. I ARRIVED AT THE SHOP AROUND 4:10 TO 4:15, AT THAT TIME I NOTICED HE SEEMED A LITTLE DOWN, VERY SLOW MOVING AND SEEMED VERY SAD. WHEN I LEFT I NOTICED HIS BREATHING SEEMED VERY LABORED I FIGUERED HE WAS MORE THEN LIKELY TIRED IT WAS A LONG DAY FOR HIM. UPON ARRIVING AT HOME HE REALLY SEEMED STRANGE TO ME AND HE STARTED TO COUGH UP FLUID THAT HAD SIGNS OF BLOOD IN IT.

I WENT IN MY HOME AND CALLED THE GROOMERS AND TOLD THEM I WANTED TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET SOMETHING WAS WRONG, THEY TOLD ME TO BRING HIM BACK TO THEM TO CHECK OUT. I DID GET THE NAME OF THERE VET. I PROCEEDED TO TAKE THE DOG DIRECTLY TO THE VET AND NOT THE

GROOMER. THE VET REPORTED HE DID NOT SEE ANY OBIVOUS SIGNS OF ANYTHING, HE SAID IF THE DOG WAS UNRULLEY AS REPORTED BY THE GROOMERS HE MAY HAVE HURT HIMSELF IN THE THROAT AREA AND THERE COULD BE SOME SWELLING THERE, HE GAVE THE DOG A SHOT TO SEE IF IT HELPS THE DOG, BY NOW THE DOG SEEMED TO BE BREATHING A LITTLE HARDER.

THE VET TOLD ME TO TAKE HIM HOME AND WATCH HIM OVERNIGHT AND IF HE DID'NT SEEM ANY BETTER TO BRING HIM BACK. WELL THE DOG DID NOT GET BETTER, HE DIED IN MY ARMS AT ABOUT 6:30AM AT HOME. I CONTACTED JERRI (OWNER)AT HER HOME WHEN ALL THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN, SHE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ME WHEN MY DOG PASSED. SHE OFFERED TO COME AND PICK HIM UP AND TAKE HIM TO VETS,I TOLD HER I WANTED TO GO WITH HER, SHE SAID NO SHE WOULD DO IT,AND I REMINDED HER THAT THIS WAS MY DOG, I WENT TO THE VETS WITH HER, SHE HAD ORDERED AN AUTOPISY AND THE DOGS ASHES TO BE RETURNED TO ME.

I HAVE RECD ALL THE REPORTS FROM THE AUTOPISY AS WELL AS THE ASHES. CAROUSEL PET GROOMERS INSURANCE COMPANY HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH ME ALMOST FROM THE BEGINNING OF THIS WHOLE MESS. THEY ARE GOING TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE PRICE OF THE DOG WHICH WAS $650.00 AND TO HAVE THE CARPET CLEANED WHERE MY DOG HAD SPIT UP BLOOD AND STAINED IT. I WOULD LIKE TO FILL A COMPLAINT AGAINST THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE, I KNOW I ONLY HAD MY DOG FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME BUT IT WAS LONG ENOUGH TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS LITTLE DOG, HE WOULD LOOK AT YOU AND YOUR HART WOULD MELT.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY COULD'NT CALL ME IF MY DOG WAS SO UNRULIE. THE VET TOLD ME THAT MY DOG DIED OF ACUTE TRAMMA TO THE CHEST, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE MY DOG FEEL OUT OF THE BATHTUB OR OFF THE GROOMERS TABLE, EITHER ONE HE WAS NOT WATCHED OR TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY.DO WHAT YOU CAN SO THAT THIS MAY NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSES DOG.
