Negative Option: When No Means Yes

VistaPrint's business cards are fine but from what we hear, VistaPrint has a nasty habit of herding their customers into MWI's fleecing arena. The company says it's just not so.

Dee of Roanoke, VA November 4, 2009

I have ordered the Free business cards from them, and now I've ordered cards that I've paid for. I've never had a problem. Yes, at the end of ordering my cards they have page after page of offers. It only took me 5 minutes to decline all of their offers. I felt it was worth my time to get their very attractive pricing, because their quality is very good. Their website design software is pretty user friendly. I will continue to use their service.

Jennifer of Durango, CO November 1, 2009

I know how to use the website and read so I don't get charged items that I don't purchase. A majority of the time I get a full cart of FREE items and only pay shipping. Instead of complaining, people should read what they are getting.

ADRIAN of LOS ANGELES, CA October 29, 2009

I placed my order 3 weeks ago for business cards, and should have gotten them by the 24th via snail mail. As of today 9-29-09 I have not gotten them, and could not reach the company. Please advice.

Dean of Kingman, AZ October 27, 2009

Vista print charged me 14.95 for some membership fee I didnt sign up for. They did ship the products ok and they looked fine when arrived. I see they make the real money on these 14.95 charges. I still saved money with them but only because I stopped the fees today after 1 charge. My wife was smart enough to read the strange charge on out account. Very shady business practice thats for sure! They will close my account and not charge me anymore. they say anyway.

David of Tetley, MO October 26, 2009

I have ordered business cards from this company three times (the first time I ordered free cards, the rest were customized). The free cards were really free. The rest cost a reasonable amount compared to other printing companies.

I did not enroll in any of their special programs (you don't get something for nothing, folks). Their website is easy to use; you can quickly lay out your business card just the way you want it (even the free cards), and they offer matching address labels, stationery, etc.

I received my orders in a reasonable time. The orders were all complete. The quality of the product was perfect, except for one order, which had an incorrect calendar printed on the back. They corrected the error promptly in the way I requested. Their service people were courteous. So much nicer than a regular printer!

Vicki of Fort Wayne, IN October 25, 2009

I ordered free business cards and some free postcards. As the other report, I checked my statement and was charged for 14 for my "membership" in some discount club. Be careful when checking out with Vista Print, as some of their checking out buttons that ask for a survey, or whatever, so that they don't tack you with various 14 club memberships. Lucky for me, when I complained, THREE WEEKS LATER I got my 14 bucks back.

Jennifer of Randleman, NC October 24, 2009

I ordered once from vista print and 30 days later they charged my account for 14.95, i reported to my bank they were not authorized to charge my account a second time that I had not ordered anything else. Not only i am paying for 14.95 for nothing but i have to pay a 10 charge to receive a debit card since mine has compromised.

Mark of Dresher, PA October 24, 2009

I ordered business cards once from Vista Print. The next month I started to receive debits on my bank account for 14.95. Two seperate companies where chargine me for something I did not authorize. I work at a bank, so I see my accounts everyday. I had phone numbers and file fraud through our security office. I am also lucky and have a wife who is an attorney, so I had her fax "nice" letters to these companies demanding my money back. We will see.

As a banker I recommend that everyone who has unauthorized debits coming from their accounts claim fraud with their banks. Report your card stolen, and get a new one. Also, open a new account and transfer funds from the fradulent account to the new and wait for your credits then close the fraudulent account. This will insure no more stealing of funds from your account.

Connie of Elmwood, WI October 24, 2009

I ordered some business cards, paid on line with my credit card, my cards arrived along with a Golf Magazine that I didn't order! I could get no results from anyone!I called 1-800 Golf magazine, Jennifer told me that I'm Paid up until 2010 on my magazine! And that the order came from a partner of Vista Print, M2 Media Group. And that I must call them! What a laugh that was, all recordings no real people!

I tried to get in contact with Vista print, they have no real people either! They billed me an extra 29.00 but what does that amount to when you add up the thousands that they cheated over the last few years!!We need a class action suit filed against them, I did not order that magazine!! But was charged! What a mess, and now they have my credit card number! What next! I spent all day on this. I also reported it to the F.B.I. and filled out a complaint! This should be stopped at once!

Thomas of newhall, CA October 22, 2009

I already filed a complaint. Then I had another problem. Vista print put in an order for me even though I never completed the order. I called them and they said quote: "We will refund they money to you which will show as a credit on your Vista Print account." I asked them if that means I will get a refund on my credit card and they said no. I said I wanted a refund on my credit card and they finally gave it to me.

I understand they do this as a regular practice. I am willing to be a part of a class action if their are other who have had a similar experience.
