Negative Option: When No Means Yes

VistaPrint's business cards are fine but from what we hear, VistaPrint has a nasty habit of herding their customers into MWI's fleecing arena. The company says it's just not so.

Kelly of San Marcos CA (09/29/06)
Terrible Customer Service! I have ordered about 6 times from this vendor. This particular order had three sets of business cards ordered in August. Since I had ordered no rush I expected them about mid September. When I didn't get them, I tracked my shipment only to discover that DHL sent it back, because the suite number wasn't on the label. There are about four stores in our strip mall...how hard can it be!! Anyway, when I called today (end of September) I was told that since I didn't have the suite number on my shipment, they weren't responsible, but would charge to replace the cards! I was so upset I told them they could continue to have my business if they sent me the cards..the operator told me that it was my fault and he was meeting me more than half way by discounting the cards. Forget it, I'll go down the street to my local printer where they believe in keeping your business.

I ordered business cards from vistaprint.com in July 2006 through their free business cards (plus 5 shipping) advertisement. i received the cards in a timely manner and was charged for this shipping. however, i noticed just recently 2 charges on my debit card of 14.95 from vprewards.com. i called the 888-243-6185 number listed on my debit card statement and spoke with Femi ID#22511. i questioned why i was charged for this. he said that i signed up for their membership rewards.

Thinking back, i remember clicking on a link for a 10 gift certificate if i answered a few questions. after reading the terms, i saw that they would charge me a membership fee. at this point, i exited out of the screen and forgot about it until i noticed the charges on my debit account. at first, femi didn't want to refund the money for these charges that i know i hadn't signed up for. then after talking to him, he agreed to take off one of the charges. and then after talking to him some more, he agreed to take off the second charge. he claimed that i would see a change on my card within 3-5 business days.

I too ordered business cards, paid them with my Visa card and received them. Today I noticed a 14.95 charge on my bank statement. I did not subscribe to anything and furthermore I received an email from them addressing me by my former married name. I did not give them that information. Looks like they do a lot of digging around! I now need to search my account for possibly other unauthorized charges they may have made during the month of August.

Unauthorized charge that has led to emotional damage and possible overdraft in my account. I just lost my father and I don't need this insanity!

Ordered address labels. They have not come in at all. It's been a month. Then my bank account got wiped of all my money! I'm sure it was vistaprint.com because I had just gotten a new card, and I haven't really used it too often, and not getting my order has made them extremely suspicious to me.

Like many others, VistaPrint made unauthorized charges to my MasterCard for a discount program. This happened twice a month, two different company names for three months until I discovered, and I incurred three ovedraft fees as a result. They hung upon me when I called to complain and the charges happened again, so I cancelled the card and filed a complaint through the bank. My wife got hit with a similar scam last year: monthly unauthorized withdrawals for credit card insurance plans.
