False Advertising - I ordered about $500 worth of collectible coins from this site in various auctions. Their total value is less than $200. Some that were advertised as 'Gem and Brilliant Uncirculated' look like they were found in the street. I'm not paying return shipping and/or a "restocking fee", so guess I'm SOL. I am livid. By the time some rep gets back to me, it will be past the 15-day return policy time limit anyway (it's been 2 days so far)! This site is a scam, and yeah, what the heck is up with charging $15 for shipping when it only costs $2 to get something to me? Stay away from uBid! Worst shopping experience ever.

I won 7 or 8 auctions and at the end when you confirm the order. The page says you have 4 days to pay. Well, they automatically tried to remove my money. I never authorized them to do this. And after they couldn't get my money, they cancelled my order. This was all done within 24 hours it advertised that I had 96 hours. I talked to a Mrs. **, and she seemed helpful at first, telling me that she would talk to her supervisor and that he would get back to me. Well, today is 4-27-12. This happened on 4-4-12, and still, there's no response. I'm very unhappy with this type of business practice. Beware of companies with terrible customer service. This is a terrible company to deal with!

Everything about this company is fraudulent! I have won 6 auctions over the past month. Each and every item was not as advertised, used, broken and dirty! They charge huge shipping rates and then they will put your items in "one" envelope. So where does the other shipping charges go? They sure didn't return it to me and they didn't use it to ship my item! Making a profit off of shipping is fraud!

Their customer service staff will tell you "I don't know what to tell you" when you question them, which is totally unacceptable. I ordered a ring and when I opened the box, the stones fell out! I haven't even bothered to return it. I just want this company out of my life. I will never use them again! Oh, and the "new" tablet I ordered from them was warped, had jelly on it, scratches and pornography loaded on it! This was a gift for a 6 year old! Can you imagine my horror!

Fake rings at top dollar pricing: My husband and I bought a ring from this site. The ring was supposed to be a solid sterling silver ring with a 3.5 carrot diamond in the center with surrounding stones. When we went to have it appraised at the jewelers, we were informed to our anger and dismay that the stone is not even a cubic zirconia and that the setting is plastic. What?! This is fraud and theft and a lawsuit has been filed against the company. We want our money back.

I ordered a Blu-ray DVD player, and uBid shipped me a USB keyboard instead. I phoned them, and an employe said he would send me a return label by e-mail. That was last week, and I have not received it yet. I have e-mailed the company three times with no results. If I do not hear from the company this week, I will post a copy of this letter on Facebook, and I will never order another thing from the company.

I bought a Mac on Dec 31, 2011 and it said on the auction ready for wifi and I could get onto the internet. Well, when I tried to get on the Mac, it was not up to date. I have to do major updates on it that will cost $100 to do. I should have gotten a new one if I knew this. Well, I have emailed them 3 times; each time they give me a new ID number or reference number. They won't email me back. I have given them over a week to do so. I would like my money back

My experience has been a disaster with uBid. I have bid on quite a few items and I am very disappointed at the service this company provides. First, I receive the items a good 3 weeks minimum and when I receive the items, there is no return address, no slip attached, nothing. The item is just lost in the box. I then sent them many emails about the items I received but there was no response. I even called them a few times, and as of now, I have heard nothing. I also told them I was going to cancel all my orders but I still have heard nothing. They don't even deserve the one star. They are not even worth having stars.

Worst care ever. I ordered a product through uBid on RedTag.com on 12/17. I received a confirmation email but no shipping or order info. I emailed twice using their site's email form with no reply. Finally, I called on 12/31 and the lady said she would cancel the order and refund (never received order or confirmation of shipment). On Jan. 4th, I received charge again on AMEX. I called AMEX to dispute after calling RedTag/uBid and waiting on hold for over 2.25 hours, and them saying "we never charged you". I hope dispute works. uBid has holding time of over 2 hours and the care reps laugh and say "we always have over 50 people waiting".

Everthing about ubid.com is lies and deceit; they take your money and don't even message you or kiss you.

uBid does not even deserve a star. I bid on several pieces of jewelry and I won. Well, it is not until after you complete the payment process that you see the shipping and handling fee, example, $1.00 winning bid, $14.95 shipping and handling, $1.99 transaction fee, $17.95 total. That is 1500% of the $1.00 winning bid. The product I received was not quality as they led me to believe, the genuine gem stones are of a poor grade and they are very cloudy. I won a bid for a ring, I couldn't wait, this was before I received other products; they were shoddy. I received the invoice and the ring box, but there was nothing in the box.

Beware of uBid. The return policy does not benefit the consumer, you will not receive the shipping and handling, but you will have to pay 15% restocking fee. I will try to call about the ring but I expect as much help as everyone else; none.

I won an auction for a 1.85 carat genuine diamond ring on December 7, 2011, which was a Christmas present. Today is December 19, 2011 and still there's no ring that has been shipped. The customer service says it is a warehouse issue and if it doesn't ship in 48 hours, it will be cancelled. Fine and dandy, but it sounds to me like they are false advertising on this site. If they can't get a high bid on it, they just don't follow through with the order and that is a crock of **. Don't advertise no reserve if you are going to not send the item and if you can't get enough money out of it. I am contacting an attorney and I will not let them get away with cheating the people who use and trust uBid's ** lies! I will remove all moneys from my account so they cannot get payment for this item.

I was shocked to see the list of winners on uBid. Who on earth will actually allow kids to play/bid and win on uBid? Where would these kids got the money to bid since most transaction were done online via credit card? Perhaps the authority, Government of Malaysia, should check the company and definitely it can be the biggest online scam.

I successfully bid on a Kodak EasyShare C143 12 MP Digital Camera with 3X camera for $42.00. I paid with my credit card. When it arrived I have Kodak EasyPlay digital camera without flash. It does not take clear picture either. I contacted uBid and talked with one of the sales volunteers. She gave me a Merchandise Return Number and told me that she will refund the money in full, but I have to go to "My Page" and print out return label. I tried and did not get anywhere, there were no labels. I tried the same thing again today and the website will not let me access the "My Page". What should I do to get my money back?

On 08-25-11, I purchased a monitor from uBid.com. After 2 weeks, I received my merchandise. After opening the package, there was no power cord included. On 09-09-11, I contacted uBid.com per telephone and advised the representative that I need an RMA# and a mailing ticket for FedEx to send the merchandise back. I was e-mailed all the information, and on the same day, I sent the merchandise back to uBid.com

My package was received by uBid.com on 09-15-11 at 1:47 pm sign by E **. I was told by a representative from uBid.com that my refund will be issued within 10 days. Today is 10-04-11, and after several e-mails and phone calls to uBid, I received no answer about my refund or a date of when I'm supposed to receive my refund. I tried one more time this morning to speak to a representative, and after being on hold for 75 minutes, which is an average hold time for uBid.com, I was told that they were having technical issues and can't access my account and I would be called back within 1 hour.

Needless to say, I never received a call back nor have I heard anything about my refund via e-mail. At this point, I strongly believe that uBid.com is not issuing a refund, even though my return was exactly as described in uBid.com returns policy and procedures. It looks like I'm never going to my money back. Lesson learned.

I have an issue with uBid.com. I ordered an HP laptop and paid for it. What happened next is shown on my profile; that I ordered many jewelry items, which I didn't do for sure, and they started to charge me for that. They took money from my bank account for this jewelry that I didn't bid and I didn't order. I don't know how it happened. On the next day, I started to send them an email about canceling those jewelry items from my account. I sent them many emails about that and they sent me back few unclear messages that they will cancel, but they still start charging me for other items.

I sent them few emails about this situation. I didn't get any response from them. Nobody from them want to respond and after few emails, they blocked my email so I can't send them a new one. That is what shows up after I try to send them a new email about those items, "We could not submit your email request at this time, please try your request again later or call our Customer Care Center at (866)WIN-UBID". It's hard to contact them about my refund and canceling those items. They almost cleared my account. I don't have money for a living. The other things they are trying to send me, I didn't bid on them, The laptop that I bought from them is still in the warehouse. I think they don't want to send me this laptop.

I could write a book on how uBid has stolen my money in the last two years. For example. I won an auction for 3 Hp Netbooks. To my surprise, when I got the package, only one computer was there, but I still got charged for all three of them. I never got a response of where the two other laptops where. Another time, I have ordered a lot of notebooks and desktop computers, and they arrived mis-advertised, meaning, they had less RAM, hard drive space and other features as the ones posted in their website.

To top it off, in the last month, a lot of orders I had place for more laptops were mysteriously held at their warehouse. Then, I realized, the same Items I won were being sold again. But this time, this particular member of CA Fort **, was always the highest bidder, making him the winner in all of the auctions, at much higher prices. I wouldn't be surprised to see the items he won, again being posted for sale. After all, they need to sell the merchandise to someone that is not employed by them.

I have decided to close my account with them and put a complain with the BBB. Listen to someone who has dealt with these people for the last three years, don't do business with these people. They have the worst costumer support, and would never do the right thing.

This place is company of rats, who operate in the web doing fraudulent business. They got me with a lot of money (many bids) on jewelry and electronics (computer). I bid on many things and won on it. All jewelry were not as what they described it. They described it as so good as they want it, so to cheat the customer and steal your money at the comfort of your home. All of it change color or fade after use and electronics have defects. I asked my self a question: How is it possible that these thieves can operate in the USA and do it over and over, even if they have a physical address (a building to operate) and continue to do fraud? Why wouldn't the government shut down their buildings? How can we get back all the money for all the trash they are selling us?

I have bid on what is now my third laptop. All of which, after anywhere from 2 weeks to a month later, only to receive an email from customer service each and every time that they converted their system and they placed the laptop for auction in error. Their conversion took place apparently in July 2011 but it is now September and they claim not to have resolved such a problem. I doubt it very much.

They are running a scam and needs to be investigated. Also, on the email they sent, they are offering a 10% discount on future purchases. Well, I have had subsequent purchases of non-computer items and even though I sent the email to get my 10% discount, it has not happened. I spoke to customer service and they promised to refund my credit card. A week later, I still see no refund. I will be taking this matter up with my credit card company.

But these folks need to be investigated. How can you set up auction and not follow thru when items are auctioned? Are there others who have experienced similar situations? I am sure this is not an isolated case since it has been happening continuously with 3 laptops that I have won.

After winning an auction for a laptop computer at a good price, I never received the item in question. Two weeks have passed with several emails and phone calls to uBid, all of which resulted in no resolution. uBid customer service is rude and unhelpful, with long wait times of nearly an hour on each call. Also, their email customer contact results in no replies returned.

The item is still listed "In Warehouse," and uBid spuriously claims there are issues with inventory yet continue to list this item in subsequent auctions! Should items sell for below a particular (unspecified) price, uBid simply will not fill the order and in fact will list the same items again and again in subsequent auctions, all while existing orders remain outstanding. This is clearly company policy, as evidenced by the many consumer complaints of a similar nature.

I ordered a desktop computer, and they charged my card for the price. Since it was a good price of the bid I won, it is still showing in the warehouse, and it was at least ten days past the auction close date. The customer service representative I spoke to said, "We can cancel your order, but we don't know when it will be shipped." UBid is a scam. They only ship items which sell for a higher bid; lower bids go to the warehouse to hangout, until they cancel the order. It looked like the owners of uBid are like Bernie **.

This company has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I was the winning bidder on an MP4-5 player. The company cannot furnish me with an accurate tracking number. I have contacted them on a number of occasions. They refuse to return my email. Many products are greatly inflated, which is a polite way of saying "there are bunch of liars".

I won an Apple laptop and then called them. They said that there was a mix-up in the warehouse and couldn't fill the order. So why do they have other laptops on the site if they didn't have one to send me? Why didn't they just send one they are auctioning off now and do business in an ethical way? I would not do business with these people.

I was informed by uBid that I was the winning bidder on an MP Player. Since that time, I have made a number of attempts to have uBid furnish me an accurate tracking number. According to FedEx, the tracking number uBid forwarded to me does not exist. I would hope that the BBB investigate the number of complaints filled against uBid and take appropriate actions. Recommendations to future bidders, don't fall for their scam. Their customer service (if such a department exists) must be filled with employees who can't find an honest job elsewhere.

Do not waste your time attempting to resolve a problem with these people. I have sent a number of emails requesting information on a recent transaction. The tracking number supplied was inaccurate and cannot determine the status. They wouldn't answer any of my emails. I attempted to contact them by phone, 20 calls on hold with customers with similar problems. Terrible customer care and service. Do not use their services!

I won a computer at an auction on 8/26/11. It says 2-4 days shipping on items in the uBid warehouse. 2 weeks later and 3 phone calls, average hold time 50 minutes, they said they can't cancel the order. They said they would call me back but didn't. They gave me an excuse that they were moving the warehouse after the third call. I don't believe them. I filed a complaint with the BBB as well. Consumers, beware. This is not a good outfit to deal with at all.

The uBid auction site says purchases will be shipped within 2 days. It has been two weeks and my item is shown to be still in uBid's warehouse. I cant get them to answer my emails and have waited as long as 1 hour and 40 minutes to speak with someone on the phone. When I got through, the person said all he can do is check on it and get back with me which never happened.

Recently, i purchased 3 to 4 laptops from uBid and all were having problems. It looks like they don't check anything before shipping, contrary to their claim that refurbished laptops are checked twice. When contacted by email, they had no response. Then, I had to call on the phone and I always wait for 1 hour plus.

Today, I had a chance to talk to someone, but there was no outcome as the supervisor was not on seat. I have left a message for the supervisor to call me back but I am sure that nobody is going to call back. I must say they have very bad customer support. They have no separate line for international customers. I bought one laptop using one of my friend's address and in spite of the many emails and telephone conversations, they shipped it to the other address, causing me to lose $85 US. They have the poorest customer service I ever seen - rude and liars.

I purchased a laptop from uBid.com and after a week, the laptop still shows that it is in their warehouse. You can't get a hold of anyone that can answer anything about the holdup. I am so frustrated about their poor customer service.

The only reason I placed a bid on the item was because they claim to have the products they're selling on hand. I would warn anyone dealing with this company to not be blinded by the deal but research the company.

I have not had a problem with UBID until now. I won a video camera and it has been 'in warehouse' status since July 26th, it's going on 2 weeks now and their customer service told me it would be shipped this week but nothing yet. They've got my money and I want my camera. They have very poor customer service. Hopefully the BBB will come down on them, they told me they are backed up and behind on orders in their warehouse yet I saw another camera, the exact same one, going up for sale this week!

On July 19, 2011, I "won" (and I use that term loosely) a food dehydrator for $14 + $20 shipping + $1.02 "transaction fee", all for a total of $35.02.

Immediately after I confirmed my bid, I got a confirmation email thanking me for my purchase of $145.22 ($14 for item + $126.99 shipping + $4.02 transaction fee).

I immediately wrote them back (no customer service number on the website) and told them this was a mistake and they are not authorized to charge that amount. I received no response for 3 days despite repeatedly emailing them.

Finally they responded and gave me a number to call customer service. I called them and told them that they overcharged me for shipping and my transaction fee. They told me they would contact the seller. Almost immediately, I got an email telling me that the seller refused to give me the "discounted" shipping because the item originally cost $120. Like I care what the item originally cost. They agreed to sell it for $14 + $20 shipping and it does not cost $126.99 to ship a 10.3lb item. I didn't buy a refrigerator! I bought a small kitchen appliance.

I told them I was disputing the charge with my bank. They said when I receive the item to contact them and they would give me some RMA information to return it for a full refund. Except the tracking number they provided me was invalid for over a week.

When I asked them for the correct tracking number, they said they'd contact the seller and "get back to me". They never did. Two days later, I got the package. I immediately emailed them for this RMA information and it's now been 5 days with no response from them.

I will be calling them shortly to listen to whatever new lies they will be telling. Stay away.

A TV that I won the bid on arrived in a package that looked like it had been stomped on,I refused to accept it, UPS took the package back with them after I called Ubid and spoke with Allen who stated that He was creating a RMA right then since I had refused to accept it and there was nothing else for Me to do except to wait for My refund wich would take about 5 to 7 days. That was June 24,2011. Ubid received the TV back on June 28th, since I have called and spoked with 5 different Reps and 2 persons who were supposed to be Supervisors every 2 or 3 days who all tell Me that My refund has been procsesed and should be posted on My bank account I a couple of days.

It is July 15th and still no refund. Today I was told that I would be sent an Email with all the info including a comfirmation # to prove that their end of the bussiness was completed and it was the bank that was holding up My refund. I never received the Email. I HAVE SPENT MORE MONEY BUYING A MORE COSTLY TV AND A COMPUTER FROM THEM SINCE THEN ,WHY WOULD THEY TREAT A GOOD CUSTOMER THIS WAY? I NEED MY MONEY.

Do do businesswith this company. Not only you'll money but they will even deny any transactions. I have been selling on their web site (ubid.com). In 2008 we were selling computers and electronics on their web site. The collected the payment from the buyers and stop paying us more than $23,000. I files claims with the State of Illinois but they've manged to claim that they are a new group and the old regime was gone. However, they are still the same people, same location.

Be aware of these people..it is like they are a Chicago mob, you'll lose every thing.

They Still owe us more than $8300 and refuse to pay.

Between the dates of April 13th to April 18th 2011, I placed three bids on flower plants (Echinacea x Big Sky Series 'Twilight', Echinacea x Big Sky Series 'Harvest Moon', Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm').

For anyone who knows plants, the first two are Cone flowers and the third plant is a Black eyed Susan. When the plants arrived, I opened the packaging to find all the items looking all the same (three different plants identical). They all where a long limb that resembled a stick with roots, no off shoots (limbs), no leaves, no flowers. I thought this funny but I planted the items as directed in the instructions.

It has now been almost three weeks with no change. So here comes the good part, I contacted the customer service to try and figure out what my options are, and they tell me, in a returned email, that they have a 15-day return policy and that it has expired. I politely wrote them back telling them that from the time I ordered to the time I received my plants, it was almost two weeks, that gives me two-day to know if the plants are gonna be okay. They told me that when the plants left the seller's warehouse, they were in a healthy state and that there is nothing they could do for me.

I spent 50 dollars to get some sticks. Yes, I know it is only 50 dollars and should count myself lucky that it is not more, but nonetheless, I want my damn healthy plants that I bought and paid for. I have tried to call them at their 1-866 number, but after a few minutes of explaining to the representative, I was put on hold and the last time was 36 minutes. I have not given up; I continued to flood their customer service box with request and will continue to hound them until I get the plants I ordered, even if they have to go to Home Depot and buy some.

Well, I am out of 50 bucks and 14 plants. My first order was three, second order was six, and third order was five. I just want my money back so I can go and get what I originally thought I was getting or I would like what I paid for healthy plants.

I purchased two air conditioners from Ubid.com back in September of 2009 from one of their local sales that they had in Ft. Lauderdale. I was told by the sales person that if I purchased the three-year extended warranty for them, they would be covered for anything. When I left there, I was given only a sales receipt and a pamphlet for the extended warranty (through Banker's Warranty Group).

Well, one of the A/C units is not working and I need it repaired. When I call the number listed on my receipt, which is Ubid.com, they refused to help me. Elsa and Michael at Ubid told me that I need to contact Banker's Warranty Group. I contacted them (BWG), but they have absolutely nothing on me nor my purchase. BWG even told me that they canceled warranties from them and refunded Ubid, but I never saw anything back from them! When I called Ubid back, they say that their hands are tied and that there is nothing that they can do.

I paid for two extended warranties and now, there is nothing that they can do? I have been calling and have given the run-around now since October of 2010 (seven months) and I still need to have my A/C repaired. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that has had this problem. When I was at the sale, there were hundreds of other people there making purchases and I'm sure that quite a few of them purchased extended warranties as well. What are my next steps in this process? Can Ubid tell me that they are not responsible for me not having an extended warranty? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more information, please contact me. Thanks so much!

Early April 2011, I bade on and won a Dell OptiPlex GX260 computer with Windows XP. I knew this was an old computer, scratched, and it does work. However, it was advertised as having a hard drive with a capacity of 40 GB. However, its capacity is only 18 GB; less than half of what was advertised. I have contacted uBid, but so far no response, not even a form acknowledgement that somebody has received the complaint. Needless to say, I have removed uBid.com from my favorites, unsubscribed from its mailing list, and now join hundreds of others who warn one and all not to do any business with this ripoff company! As a result, I had to add my own purchased equipment to provide adequate hard drive storage space, but it is clunky and inefficient.

I ordered 2 Sansa MP3 players. For 2 weeks the status of the order was shipped and the tracking information was 'The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper'. So I called them and asked what was going on. They said the best they could do was to cancel the order and get a refund. A few days later a credit appeared on my Credit Card for only 1 player. I called Ubid.com and they said that they credited the players individually and that I should check with the Credit Card Company as to why both credits did not show up. I called my credit card and they only showed 1 credit for 1 player.

So I called Ubid.com back and told them that only 1 credit had gone through. The lady at ubid.com said she would contact a supervisor and make sure the other half of the total purchase would be credited. I get an email later that day saying that the other half of my purchase had been credited. I go and look at my credit card activity and nothing. I mean nothing, not even the first credit was there any more. So I called the Credit Card Company and they said that the credit for the first player had been removed. So now I'm back to a charge on my credit card for the total amount and no merchandise. These guys are either crooks or completely incompetent.

On December 8, 2010, at approximately 10:00 am, I won an auction on Ubid for a set of 1.50Ctw F SI1 Diamond Solitaire Earrings, a present I would give to my wife on Christmas day. A week later, 12/15/2010, wondering why I had not received the order, I went into Ubid's website (ubid.com) to check the status of my order in the "My Page" section of my account. Incredibly, the status read the same "pending processing payment" that I saw the week before, the day I won the auction.

I immediately began to email Ubid, asking about my order, to which I got no response. The following day, after finding the number, I contacted customer service, where I spoke to Ashley. She checked the status of my order and told me that the order was "stuck in the system", but that she would push it through, promising to call me as soon as the process was completed. I never got a call from her.

A couple of hours later, I called and again spoke to Ashley, who said she was still having a problem "pushing my order through". At this point, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After holding for a while, Ashley came back on the phone and told me she couldn't find the supervisor, but promised that she would make sure the supervisor gave me a call when she returned.

I never got a call, and when I called back around 2:00 pm, a message loop kept repeating that they were closed, even though the message said that they closed at 5:00 pm. After this, I began sending one email after another, insisting that I be contacted by a Department Head. Needless to say, this never happened, but I received a communication later on, telling me that the problem was being handled by customer service.

I was already frustrated, disappointed, and apprehensive about ever receiving my order. The following day, Friday, 12/17/2010, I spoke to Ashley once again. She recommended pushing a second order through the system, to which I agreed. She called me later that day to tell me that when her day was over she would have another rep. continue to monitor my order.

Today is Sunday the 19th. I now have two orders for the earrings "pending, processing payment", "stuck in the system". Please, I need your help to correct this huge mess. Thank you.

Won a bidding for a digital camera with "no reserve" clearly displayed. Two weeks passed and no shipping information. Called in and was told that the "seller" which is not ubid at all could not be reached and the order was cancelled. I stated that clearly the seller had no interest in following through with his/her end of the bargain and the customer service from ubid was "we cannot confirm or deny that. We only know that we tried to call them and got no return call." Don't waste your time with this company. Not only do they not have any products to sell and stand behind, they have no way of enforcing their own rules with the suppliers they do "business" with.

They advertised free bids. I signed up expecting to get some free bids to try the system. I gave my credit card expecting to pay for bids used beyond the free ones if I continued to bid. I discovered that they had charged $75 to my account and gave 100 bids which I did not want.

In response to: Sandra of Halethorpe, MD, November 5, 2010. Upon checking over the complaint presented by Sandra, I am showing that we have fully refunded her account the entire amount that she purchased as well as shipping cost she incurred to send the product back. At this time, she has no outstanding balance to be refunded. uBid prides itself on taking care of our customers and making sure that they are treated fairly.

uBid.com is an online auction site, specializing in jewelry sales. I purchased (4) diamond rings, all for resale. The rings were from 1.4 thru 4.0 carat weight, E thru G color, Si1 thru Si3 clarity. These (4) rings came from the same seller on uBid. I paid over $6000 total. I received the rings and I got each one appraised. All 4 rings were less in carat, clarity, and color. It took 3 months to receive my money back, plus an additional $250 for appraisal fees which I didn't get back.

I spent time, effort, and money to get back the $6000 I paid for "not as described" rings. uBid still has the same seller selling these rings, with the rings not as described. In addition, uBid customer service is only open 7 hours a day, and they do not converse with their buyers when trying to gain information about disputes. So, if you have $6000 laying around and you want to get ripped-off, check out uBid.

Pages and pages of complaints. I only wish I read these complaints before I ordered. My granddaughter's birthday was coming up and I bid on and "won" her birthstone opal pendant "with diamonds". When it arrived, it was so cheap and small compared to the photo online that I wouldn't even put it on my dog.

I sent a message to customer service that it was falsely advertised and after several communications, they sent me a number for return. Needless to say, I've written several communications to them asking where is the credit to my charge account and nothing back. This was almost three months ago and I still have not received the credit even though UPS had a tracking number that proved the pendant was delivered and signed by "Mark in Reception" and I emailed it to UBid. I have deleted them from my "favorites" list and will never order from them again. Never, never, never!

I purchased a Philips consumer home theater system on 7-12-10 and an extended warranty for parts and labor coverage through 7-12-2011. On 9-19-10 the DVD/CD player stopped working. I called their warranty center (1-800-206-7848) and they denied me replacement coverage. I spoke to a manger and it is presently under review, although they state it is unlikely to be covered.

Avoid this site! Fraud activity!

I was the winning bidder of a watch. I was informed I won and in 3 days was told they had an inventory error and did not have the item. The next day, the same watch was up for bid again and was selling for more than I paid.

After my complaint they offered me totally different watch, but for the same bidding price. I told them that my bid was for the different specific watch and there is no way for replacement item in auction.

Don't buy from them.

I purchased an xBox 360 elite in June for my 16 yr old's birthday. Once plugged in, the system would not work. I borrowed a cable from a friend in the event it was a cable issue and still the system didn't work. I contacted ubid and was told to return the system and allow 2 weeks for refund. It has been 3 months and no one will contact me regarding this situation.

On 8/11/2010 at 12:13:00, I was the successful bidder on an Olympus Stylus 300. After several weeks, I contacted uBid to find out why I had not received the item. Today, September 5, 2010, I went to the uBid website to check on the status of this order. The status is cancelled. I did not cancel this order. I can only hope that American Express will stop aiding uBid in the fraud that it is perpetrating on the public. I am left with little or no time to obtain a camera before departing on an extended foreign trip.

I bought a watch online at ubid.com and wore it for the first time today and it just fell out of my hand. The pin that held the strap together just came lose and my watch just fell to the ground. Everyone around me looked at me wondering why my watch just fell apart. I wrote a complaint to them directly because I realize the seller of the item is not a third party seller but ubid itself. Sure, I won the bid at a very low price but the shipping and handling service charge carries about 90% of the total cost. Needless to say, sending it back to them will cost me more in shipping and what I get in, refund will not even cover my shipping. I would imagine they will say they can't refund shipping and handling. So they sold me junk.

If they were in Singapore, they would be shut down and jailed by now. In Singapore, if someone is selling fakes or deliberately misleads faulty goods for quality goods, they have committed a crime and get shutdown immediately. I am just surprise the item looks cheap and not like in the photo and fell apart on first day of wear. The total cost of this purchase was $12.99. It was sold as a bargain but doesn't even hold up to a kid's plastic watch. I just have been cheated by ubid. I think that website should be taken down and the domain removed and turned into a consumer alert site warning people of online auction sites. Just because they have a legit URL doesn't mean they are a legit business. Please follow the trail of complaints. Require them to create a link on their site with people's actual comments, good and bad, to be available to all to see when they go to the site. I made an error in trusting this site. I just hope others will not continue to be robbed by them.

I was the winning bidder of a dell printer. It was a good bid price. I was informed I won and the next day was told they had an inventory error and did not have the printer. The next day, the same printer was up for bid again and was selling for more than I paid. I was informed that my account would not be charged but in fact it was and when I complained, I was told I was not charged and after two days the charges were removed.

I recently won a watch at auction on uBid.com. After several days, I noticed that the status of the auction still showed the item at the suppliers warehouse. I used the uBid email form to enter a question regarding this. I received a response form Dan ** stating that the supplier was out of stock on that item and was offered two options. Either I accept a replacement model or cancel the order but I must respond in 72 hours. I immediately responded to that email per the instruction within the email.

After two days, I had not received any response and I sent another email inquiring as to the status. Again, there was no response and the following day, I received an email that due to my not responding to their 1st email the order was being cancelled. I quickly called uBid at the number indicated on their website and spoke to a Customer Care Representative who was of very little help. She did offer to take my name and number and have Dan ** call me back as he was not at his desk at the time. I received no call or follow up email. When I checked my order status on the uBid site, my order showed cancelled.

This company needs to stop ripping off people. Please take action against this site. Customers don't get the product that is advertised on the site. They are a fraud and overcharging an item without even letting the customers know. They are a fraud!

Sellers of junk! Diamond was 0.97 ct and not a full carat. Color was enhanced and should have been stated as such. The ring had a small chip on the diamond and there was an etch on it due to jeweler's saw or some other type of blade. The ring was not the ring pictured on the auction page. As always, similar, but not that same ring that was pictured! Jewelers told me that the GIA certificate was not authentic and it was some ** certificate that was photocopied. Authentic GIA certificate is blue and white and laminated! Not a brown school certificate looking thing! Shipping prices are way over-inflated for the time it takes to receive the item! Outrageous! The diamonds that are sold on uBid are of poor quality that they can't unload elsewhere, so the consumers end up with these junk diamonds that are bumped up with these fancy descriptions which are not accurate at all! Yeah, I think that about says it and then some! I will never ever shop with these dishonest people again!

The company is using deceptive wording. You must look real close to the wording. In my case it was only $1.00 but that is just the principal. This is my email to ubid:

"You defend your motives with the statements below. But, in the picture and description it shows a large gem and says $5.00 stone. It says nothing in the description about stones. There are no extra S added to make it look like there are many stones. I still plan on making a poor report on the seller about watching about wording and buyer beware."

I bought a laptop from uBID as I did over 20 others. I also purchased a two-year warranty through them. They admitted that they lost the order and did not process the warranty. Meanwhile, I have been without a laptop for two months and they are unwilling to give me a credit or resolve the issue. I was without a laptop for two weeks since they told me they were going to fix this quickly. I finally got to the point that to keep my business running, I had to buy a laptop. Meanwhile, they tell me that the warranty will still expire after two years from the date that I originally purchased the laptop! Can anyone help?

I bid on and won, 4 separate auctions for mp3 players. Because nobody bid against me, I won these for the opening bid price. uBid sent me verification that I had won, and later USPS tracking numbers. But they never actually mailed the units, they only issued tracking numbers. When I started to complain, a month later, they just ignored me. Finally, after many repeated complaints, they said they would refund the charge to my card.

This is not acceptable. They cannot cancel the contract just because I won it for the opening bid price. They obviously have more in stock, as they put more units up for auction several times a day. Communication with their customer service department has gotten me absolutely nowhere, they just ignored me.

I am now ready to file four complaints with the Federal Trade Commission. At least, I will have the satisfaction of knowing it will cost them hundreds of times as much in legal fees to respond to those complaints, as what they are trying to cheat me - a customer who has spent a couple thousand dollars with them over the last decade or so - out of. And obviously, I will never ever do business with them again.

I certainly would recommend that people stay away from uBid.com. They are not honest, and do not even respond to customer complaints.

uBid sucks! I bid on a ring online because it was gorgeous and won it but I noticed that the item you bid on is not what you get. They send out a different ring that is similar but not the exact ring that was pictured and think you're too stupid to notice. I had complained about the first one and returned it but the second one I'm keeping because it's just more time and money to return the *** thing. Buyer, don't assume that you're going to get the item you see in the picture during auctions. So done with uBid!

On 1/23/10 I made a bid on this website for a ring and won the bid. After waiting the two days for it to go through and the money be taken out of my bank account, it did. Then it showed up on "my page" that the order had been shipped and it even came with tracking number. After giving them two weeks my ring was still not here. So I contacted ubid and told them the problem and they said that the ring was from a private seller.

After trying the number they gave me to contact the private seller, it turns out the number had been disconnected. So I called again and got a different phone number which also had been disconnected. Calling them again, I got her email and, surprise, the email address was not valid! So calling them once more. the customer service lady said they would try and take action to call her. So now I'm out $80 and still have no ring. I do not advise anyone to buy from this website!

I purchased a 32" Westinghouse Refurbished TV. The TV was a Christmas Gift and sadly, the joy of giving was turned to frustration. The TV worked at start up but would, within minutes, turn an amber orange color. Not long after turning the set on there was nothing but the amber glow. I called uBid on the Monday after Christmas and they issued me an RMA number and provided a return shipper.

A few days later, I receive an email stating the TV was damaged by UPS in transit. I asked at that time what the damage was and the girl said she could not share that with me. I called back and got another one of their customer service reps and after much debate, she let it slip that there was a crack in the screen. They would issue a damage claim and get back to me. Needless to say, the TV did not have a crack when I sent it back. Every time I call, they advise they will refund my money. Needless to say, I check my account and no funds have been posted. Consequently, I have a disappointed daughter (it was her Xmas gift) and lost $278.48.

We placed an order for a Christmas gift for a relative in the beginning of Dec. 09. It is Jan. 21, 2010 and I have yet to receive this order. "So much for a Christmas present". I never received a call explaining what has happened. There was no information on my account online. I had to call to see what was going on. "Keep in mind they already took out my money from my account and everything was paid for". Upon calling, they stated that there was an issue with shipping. I tried to get my money back and was denied. They have bad customer service, are a rip off, and have no satisfaction whatsoever. My money was not refunded.

On 9/10/09,I purchased one lot of three tiny crosses at $2.00 each for a total of $6.00. I was charged $64.25 shipping & handling, plus a transaction fee of $2.11. Total cost for the $6 purchase was $72.36. When I complained about the excessive shipping charges I was given the standard reply about how expensive it is to ship items, even though the actual mailing cost was under $2.00.

Even though this was a lot purchase of three items, they were not sold seperately, I was charged shipping as if they were three seperate items. They could give the stuff away and still make a very hansome profit on the outrageous shipping charges. The return policy is they will refund the purchase price, but not shipping charges.

uBid.com is a scam and a rip off! I have closed my account and will never buy anything from uBid again! I was grossly over charged for my purchase and was deprived of funds that could have been better used elsewhere. I am retired and living on a fixed income, so every penny is budgeted. This overcharge caused me to run short that month.

Fool me once... And anybody would have to be stupid to bid on anything from uBid. (For me, NEVER again).

I had bought a watch from them. The date dial and on of the buttons on the watch do not work properly. The box that the watch came in was scuffed up. And the shipping package did not come with a packing slip. I tried to contact them but there was no information that came with the watch. I had to go on line to send them an email. No response. I had called the 1-800 or 1-888 number and left multiple messages. Again. No response. Worst yet, I can't get Capital One to reverse the charges. I have explained to them that I did try to contact uBid multiple times to return the item. But if they don't call me back there is nothing I can do. And I am not going to throw money after bad to try to get a second opinion on the watch by going to a jeweler and pay them to tell me that the watch doesn't work. Needless to say, I am also cancelling my card with Capital One because I feel that they do not protect their customers. They don't want to offend the perpetrating merchant that continue to pay them a fee everytime a transaction is made on the Capital One card.

I bid on a two watches and won the bid, upon receiving neither one of these worked! Not only that you could tell these two watches have been shipped before. They where not in original packaging. I also bid and won a American Bald Eagle, upon receiving it was broken in three pieces. The eagle appeared to have been glued before it was shipped to me. I will NEVER purchase from Ubid.com!

Last year I went on Ubid's page... looking for items to buy and sale making a small profit by saling to peo-ple at the Flea market. After reading this not including hoe much I paid into this business. I wasn't always here in S.Carolina I recently moved here! I left calforina march 15, 09. I gave my son one of many watches I still have. Fail apart!!! The ring one of many I still have here. Before I left I gave to my son for his enagement to his Girlfriend lost it's diamond's and color.

This is the third item I've bid on and it was a bit misleading. Ubid.com advertised a 16-piece tie set with starting bid of $1 each. There were a few bids for $1.00, so I placed a bid for $3.00. What the site does is then multiply the $3.00 x 16. Mind you, you have to buy this as a 16-piece set, so I would expect you are bidding on the entire lot. When I called, I was shocked at the tone of voice of the customer service rep. I explained I thought I was bidding on the entire 16-piece set and she said, "oh, I think I know what you are talking about--the ties, is it?" And I said yes (I think obviously they've had this problem before). She had a very insulting tone and told me it's very obvious right there on the page what I was bidding on (another way of saying I must be pretty dumb) and I said no, I think if you are selling something as a set and it shows a picture of a boxed set of 16 ties that most people would think they were bidding on the set. You don't multiply my bid 16 times. I don't go into a store and see a 16-piece plate set and think I am going to buy each individual plate out of the box, am I?

Also, not one of us wants to overpay and I think it's obvious if there are only bids for $1.00 that I would then bid $2.00, not jump to a $3.00 bid if I though I was bidding that 16 times. She said, "well I just explained to you that it is obvious and that is how the merchant decides to do the bidding, etc". She was no help and started right off the bat by insulting me and there was no way to retract the bid even though there are 6 days left on the auction. Since the bidding was still open, I called my credit card company and cancelled my credit card. I will never do business with this outfit again.

I have ordered a lot of Jewelry from UBID and now I am finding out that it is no good. Not only did the one I e-mailed them about lose it's gold. Another one that I tried did the same thing. They claim that they use only quality companies. This is not quality at all. This would be the kind you get out of a toy machine. I want a refund on all the Gold items I ordered. Gold that is a joke.

I also have another item coming from you all: SD Beautiful 16.5" 2mm 18K Gold gf Ladies Necklace 902810840 1 of 1 $15.49 This item probably will do the same thing.

I have sent them e-mails and they will not answer my questions. Then I called them and they gave me the number to the company and I got no call back from them. UBID say's they have nothing
to do with it. After me telling UBID this they company still has their idems

a up for sell on UBID's site.

This idem in their aid claims it is worth $285.00 C11483275 (3) $69.27.

Maybe it is worth .05.

I bid on a computer that I could afford for my daughter (I'm a single parent on a fixed income). My daughter is starting college next month and she needed a note book computer. So, I was searching the internet and I really don't know much about computers, so I blindly trusted what I read. The ad on the auction said satellite ready out the box. When we finally got the computer on July 14, 2009, there was no book or manual in the box. It was scratched on the part where you open the computer, the side that holds the memory card was broken. I turned it on to see how it would work and the computer would shut off.

So, we plug the cord in the wall and it still was shutting off. So immediately, I called uBid the same day and gave them as much information as I could, so they told me to call the numbers on the enclosed flyer and I did. The next day, I called uBid again and was given an email address. I emailed them and the email came back it could not be delivered. I called again the following day and reported to uBid that the email address given to me did not work. A report supposedly taken and uBid emailed the company on my behalf.

I called uBid again today and all I was told was I have to give the company 48 hours to respond. I took the computer into a shop to have it checked out. I found out the computer is old and most of the parts that would need to be replaced possibly may be hard to get, and it would cost me about $400 plus $175 for labor in order for them to get the computer working correctly. The repair man said they knew that the computer was old and not working properly. So, as I got back home and was talking on the phone to uBid company and explaining to them what was still going on, uBid said I'd have to wait for the company to respond.

An email came through to me from bestdealcomputers@gmail.com and they asked me to email them and explain to them everything. I just explained to you and I did. So, I got an email saying that I should not have taken it into the repair shop because parts had been removed, and the repair man removed no parts other than opened it up and point out everything that you can see with your eyes that's wrong. He cleaned it off and inserted a new memory card and it is still trying to shut off. So the repair man told me to contact the company again and I did. This company Best Deal Computers, (423)762-0361 and (423)605-2841, says they will send me the exact same computer for an exchange. I just want my money back. Please, can your company help me because I'm not getting the help I need through uBid! My daughter is not going to have a computer when school starts in August because of these two companies!

My experience is with an auction site called Ubid.com and their parent company, Always at Market. I bought approx. 30 men's watches from them in Dec. 2008. They began to fail immediately. At first I was treated well because I bought so many watches and continued to buy watches. But as the failure rate climbed, I stopped buying. That was it. Watches continued to fail and I was told that they could be serviced but instead of receiving the good service I had gotten used to (refund or exchange), I was told I could send the units in for service where they would be sent back to China and I wouldn't see them for 3-4 months.

These watches may look "different and sexy" on the auction site but beware! The automatic movements are cheap Chinese *** (no racism intended)! Despite their feeble attempts at a disclaimer on the "retail pricing", what you are getting are "$2,000 watches" that aren't worth 25 bucks. Michael ** was my best buddy. Now neither he nor anyone else will return my calls. They auction several different "brands" but have you ever heard of any of them? And if you look closely, there is only one manufacturer! The "different brands" thing is a gimmick. All the different brands are made by one cheap ** company in China. Despite their attempts to create an "aura of mystique" around each company, it's all the same ** and the "mystique" is **.

Watch out for other suckers like myself who got stuck with this junk and are trying to unload this ** on eBay, using the completely fictitious "list prices." You may not regret it today or tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life. I am out over $1,000. Don't let it happen to you. Always at Market should be investigated by the Texas Authorities.

I had bought a watch from them and the quality is definitely not as advertised. The button to change the date feel flimsy and one of the buttons does not always change the date a full notch when you want to advance it to the next day. I tried looking up on their site for a return policy or a contact, but there is no such thing as an easy access to uBid. The only means of contact is to call their customer service number. I had called 4 times and not once did I get a live person. I finally left two messages and it has been a week now—nobody has called me back. Be very careful when you want to bid on anything or buy anything from them.

I ordered two Arundo donax 'peppermint stick' and was sent something that looks like a bush. It would cost more of my hard-earned money and precious time to even try to get my money back.
This is the second time I've ordered something from ubid and unlike ebay there is no one to contact with a problem. The first item was a blutooth with no volumn.
I guess I'll just have to call it bought experience and lable myself a fool if I ever order from them again.

Why doesn't someone stop them?

i bought a wohler watch lasted about a week. the wohler watch is grosley over priced. it seems ubid does not care because i called them and told ubid this and the price droped from about 1900/00 dollars to 900.00 dollars but they are still way over priced

just cost me allmost twenty five dollars to send it back for repair. can,t wait to hear what they will want to fix it

On 2/8/09 I purchased (what I thought was a 100%) REFURBISHED Magellan Roadmate 6000T GPS, for $139.00, when item came, it is NOT fully refurbished, and missing promo ocdes for free trials, Item and contents NOT as described. GPS has mapping that it 4.5 years old. Spoke to Ubid and manufactuer Magellan. I was told I had to pay $90 to upgrade mapping, Ubid refused me to return for a refund, said tehy had to conact their vendor? I paid Ubid, NOT their Vendor ( sounds like scam to me I bet the vendor is magellan the manufacturer)

I have now filed complaints with my credit card, Ubid, Attoney Generals office and mother company Enable Holding. The cost for ME to FULLY REFURBISH this item outweighs the cost of buying a BRAND- NEW unit comparable for $199 at local Radio Shack!

I bit on this company called Ubid. I bit for 3 18k gold overlay gucci-style men's bracelet and the thing is fake its not gold its complately fake i contact Ubit and they are not responding for any of the calls i made I pay $5.00 each and the shiping was like $60.00 so im out like $75.00 for some fake crap.

the end result is I end up fake product and out of $75.00 and I think this is froud and it should be process to the autorities.

I bid on,won and padi for a watch on their web site. Immediately after this transaction, I started getting emails from several watch companies and various other companies that I have never dealt with. I contacted uBid and their response was that they don't sell or release that information, it's against their policy. But, in all fairness, there is no other explanation. I was never receiving these emails prior to this transaction. People need to be aware of what uBid is doing with their information.

I will now have to delete this email address and establish a ew one. It is a shame that uBid is allowed to get away with this. AS MENTIONED ABOVE, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY THESE COMPANIES COLD HAVE GOTTEN MY EMAIL ADDRESS. UBID SOLD THIS INFORMATION.

I received defective watch from Ubid.com. Ubid said I would have to work it out with seller. Seller will not answer emails and will not contact me.I am out $50.00 for a bad cheap watch

Loss of $50.00

Purchased an 2MB MP4 Player, a version of 2007 for $91,- including an inflated shipping charge. The player was advertised as new. The port to transfer data and to charge the device was loose and did not operate at all. The included adapter was not approved to be sold in the US. I returned the defective product to their distributer and requested a refund. I informed uBid of the non-compliant adapter by sending a letter to CEO Mr. Jeffrey H and Customer Care Ms. Sally D. An associate of the distributer informed me that she was instructed by uBid to deny a credit/substitution and to replace the defective item. She confirmed that another new 2GB MP4 Player was found in their stock and that it was shipped.

I received a replacement, the box arrived sealed with a tape. The 'new' box included an alternate adapter. The second player's data socket is also loose, as the one before, but operable. The product has no name identifying the manufacturer and has neither a serial number nor an inspection ID. I looked at the replaced device and found that the screws show slight marks of manipulation. I suspected this player was opened to repair the socket. I had taken photographs of the first player and adapter. I compared the replacement to my documentation of the original which confirmed that they are identical. I puchased a used, defective player that was advertised as new. The same player was repaired and returned. Besides that the item is used, obsolete junk, not all functions work.

Watch out if you are bidding on uBid.com. I had a bad experience with them recently. I bid on an HP laptop. When the auction closed (in this case it did not went to overtime), uBid.com web site showed me as the winner. However, more than an hour later I received an outbid notice. I went back to uBid.com web site and it showed a new winner with a bid of $200+ higher. I complained to uBid.com. Their response is that there was a glitch in their system and they are not responsible for the mistake. I went to BBB (Better Business Bureau) and filed a complaint. uBid.com gave the same answer.

One month after I sent in my rebuttal, uBid.com did not care to respond at all. BBB (Better Business Bureau) then closed my case with this conclusion the BBB determined the company addressed all the complaint issues and made a good faith and reasonable effort to resolve them, although it appears you were not satisfied with the outcome. Therefore, your complaint is being closed at our Bureau as administratively resolved, and will be reflected as such in the company's reliability report for 36 months, the Bureau's reporting period?, which is funny for me (in particular, administratively resolved?).

I bid on a compaq desktop computer. I won. It was for my daughter. I could not get it to her right away, but I managed to get it to her last week. She opened it and it was wrapped in bubble wrap. It was refurbished from the government, or so the ad said. She told me there was red marker on the outside of it that looked like someone tried to wipe it off. The writing said HDR, which later on we find out there is no hard drive in the computer. So HDR must mean hard drive removed.

She took it to her father in law who fixes computer and he told her he could put a hard drive in it if the mother board was ok. When he tested it we found that the mother board is shot. I have not gotten my credit card statment yet but I believe I paid about $130.00 for a shell of a computer. That amount included shipping. I have contacted them but get an automated e-mail response. I am contacting my credit card company to see if they can help, but other than that I do not know what to do.

The economic problems this caused is that I spent this money on a worthless item. My daughter signed up for the internet which cost her 200 bucks for someone to come out and set up the wireless system. It also cost her for the fist month of service which she can not use. That was 78 dollars. Plus I am so embarrassed that this site scammed me, and now her in-laws know. I need this money back so I can get her another computer.

I purchased an Ipod from ubid by way of auction. Sale was by ubid with stated warranty and payment was to ubid by my credit card. Upon receiving the ipod the so called rechargeable provision listed in enclosed instructions did not work. Five attempts to ubid finally resulted in a respone instructing me to contact an indepentent seller. Two att- empts to seller resulted in no responce. Ubid then said they had no responsibily Deal with seller. I am stuck with a worthless porduct.

I am charged with an item that is worthless and I am relieved of $39.95.

i won a bid on a digital camera. they said i'd be recieving it soon. then i got an email saying the pricing was wrong and i won't get it. then i won a bid on a digital camera that was described as 10 megapixals, when i got the camera it was 5 megapixals....SCAM ARTISTS.....

I purchased two pairs of earrings and when I received them they were for a child and not an adult. The description didn't specify that they were for a child. I contacted ubid.com to return them and was given a hard time about sellers remorse and that they were not required to take the earrings back but because the desciption didn't specify that they were for a child they would make an acception and would have to charge me a 15% restocking fee. Why should I have to pay a restocking fee when you I was getting what I expected. The representatives for ubid.com are not pleasant and are not willing to help. I would urge everyone not to purchase anything from ubid.com because you don't know what you are going to get.

I have to pay a restocking fee for merhcandise that I don't want and was initially told that I couldn't return the merchandise and after much debate the representative decided to take it back but only if I agreed to pay a restocking fee.

WARNING!!! -- COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS from uBID.com. I ordered a pair of Sony MDR Ex90 headphones and received COUNTERFEIT ones instead. I noticded they did not perform as I expected them to upon purchase. I did some research and concluded that the item I was sent was not the Sony headphones I ordered, but a counterfeit set. The item I received had no instruction sheet, incorrect packaging, no warranty card (which Sony always includes) and did not contain the additional sized earcups. I have a message in to uBid now and will report my progress with their customer service department.

I'm out $39.95

This company can zap a customer's credit card immediately for a purchase, ship a DAMAGED product necessitating a return (it was supposed to be refurbished), incur a major undertaking on customer's part to get an RMA issued, and then in so many words tell the customer that it will take a massive technical operation to properly refund the customer's funds.

Unfortunately, this has become a way of life in dealing with so many internet sales companies.

This company IS a member of the Better Business Bureau (don't laugh). According to the BBB, uBid has had 201 filed complaints over the past 36 months and 63 of those were closed over the last year. (They have still managed to maintain a satisfactory record with the BBB but of course those reports don't tell you how much time and trouble customers had to incur in order to receive rightful service.)

After some weeks of monkeying around with uBid (and getting the run-around), this customer finally got their attention by threatening to contact organizations including, but not limited to, The Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's Office of customer's home state, the Attorney General's Office of Illinois (uBid's domicile), The Federal Trade Commission, and other regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over internet abusive sales practices. It also helps to tell them you will file reports on them with various consumer complaint boards (such as this one) and report them in applicable trade journals warning others of their shenanigans.

After convincing uBid it would be in their best interest to act on my return without further delay, they finally made due and proper refund. Of course the refund directly from uBid finally posted to my credit card account AFTER I had already officially disputed the charge directly with the credit card company. Then I had to go to the trouble of getting the credit card dispute reversed.

Such a shame customers have to work this hard and go to this much trouble to receive due and proper service.

First and LAST time I will use the rip-off site called Ubid. The item was a 2oz bottle of Michael Kors perfume. The site displayed a VERY large photo of this EXACT container while in tiny print near the bottom of the page mentioned .2oz. I hesitated but when shipping cost was shown as $6.00 I concluded it had to be 2oz to take up $6 postage. I not only received the item in an envelope bearing 2 41cent stamps but the 1 sq. inch tiny plastic bottle included the following statement - typed in no-less than SIX languages-: SALE OF THIS PRODUCT IS PROHIBITED!

You guessed it. I was actually sent a test sample anybody can obtain at any major dept store free of charge! Not only did I get robbed on the postage but the actual item as well!

I live on a $717.00 SS check in a Sr. citizen subsidized bldg. I've wanted M.K. perfume for years and thought I had finally found it modestly priced. Someone selling for money what is clearly marked as Sale of this item prohibited is an out and out thief. Including theft via overcharging postal cost by 95%. How about Federal charges on the intent to defraud using U.S. mail across state lines?

I have purchased several Items and am happy, However twice I have been burned. I won the bid and when I went to the secure payment page and entered my cc # and hit submit a final outrageous shipping fee was charged.

The most recent was on 6/28/2008. I bought 3 sd2GB memory cards for my camera at $2.00 a piece and was charged 39.97 for shipping and handling. I did not know the final charge until I submitted my cc info. I tried cancelling it but I was not allowed and the product was shipped. my credit card was charged 45.97.this has got to be ilegal. this has occured one other time. Please help.

I purchased a cell phone from you ubid and it will not charge. Now I cannot find a way to return it. I have tried e-mails & phone calls and I get no satisfaction. Is this site a scam to get rid of junk?

I am out $70.00 with no recourse.

Ordered/placed an MP3 as advertised. They shipped a different item. Asked for a refund but took sometime plus they did not refund my full money. They charged the shipping cost back to them in which they were at fault. They screwing a lot of people and nobody dares to stop them. If there will be a class lawsuit...count me in. I have all the transcripts with me.

I recently won a bid for a brand new Dell Latitude XT Table Notebook at $750, retailing over $3000 according to ubid. The price was too good to be truth. After 2 weeks of waiting, I realized my notebook were never shipped. I therefore called ubid for an explanation. Ubid replied by e-mail saying that the laptop were found damaged in the warehouse and no replacement unit were available. They offered a refund to my credit card. However, I told them I simply want my notebook instead of refund. It was a brand unit and it comes with 3 years of manufacture warranty by Dell.

I asked ubid to repair or replaced simply because it was brand new and under the warranty. Ubid refused simply because it was not an option. I feel strongly that I was a victim of fraud. The ubid have refused to honor the price that I won because it was under their cost, maybe. As of today, there are still 13 brand new units for sell with starting bid of $ 1299. Why can't ubid just send me one of unit available...? If this is not a scam or fraud, then what's it? I have all the e-mails replied by Ubid and related information saved. If anyone is interesting of fighting this organized fraud, I will be more than happy to provide any information needed it.

I have follow their rules and played their game. I ended up with a lof of frustration, street and simply upset. Time were wasted for nothing....

I bid on two headphone MP3 player sets and won the bid for 4 dollars Each. Shipping charge for each item was 14.95. I received a bill for 40 dollars. Both items were shipped together in one envelope via USPS 10oz First-Class Parcel rate which from AGIS the approved UBID seller 60567 to my address at 60613 maximum priority rate would be 4.80 plus 75 cents for delivery confirmation. These overinflated shipping prices allowed by UBID are outrageous and ridiculous. Something should be done about their practice. This seller made approximately 24 dollars in shipping overcharge.

None- just want the public to be aware of UBID's unfair policy.

This company, Ubid.com is an online web based Large company. On numerous occasions I and or my roomate have purchased several HP computers from this comany. On more than one occasion orders that have been received were substantially less than what was being advertised for sale. For Example: I just purchased a HP Computer lot# 11264460, Order # B11052604 which was listed as having an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 Processor, 3GB Ram,400 GB Hard drive, 256MB Video Card, DVDRW & 48X CDRW , 15 & 1 Card Reader & Vista Home Premium.

Instead what I received was an Intel Celeron M 1.8,512MB Ram, No CDRW drive, 160GB Hard drive, NO Video Card and No card reader & Vista Basic.

On another occasion I ordered a HP Slimline PC with a TV Tuner, Wireless Lan and DVI Video Card. The PC I received had none of the components I bid on. This company also states a 90 Day warranty thru the manufacturer but if you call HP within the 90 days they say the warranty is expired and payment is required to assist with any problems. Ideally the problem is this. When they list an item having certain specifications it drives the bidder to bid higher on an item. You win and do not get what you pay for. This is causing me to no longer desire to do business with this company.

Emails are sent using their customer support web based program. I get an auto response and no one ever follows up. In that, I have to pick up the phone, wait on hold and then get a customer service rep who will do everything in their power NOT to allow you to send the item back for a refund. Instead they want me to call HP and tell them the item purchased did not have the components specified. I call HP and they direct me back to Ubid as they can not help me. After all why would HP resolve a purchased item that was not as advertised from another company. After much frustration UBid will end up granting a RMA or offer a discount amount which in no means covers the cost of the missing components. I would not usually complain but it seems of late this has happened alot with this company.

ordered 7 different bareroot plants offered through ubid. received orders 20 days late. all dead. more importantly, every order was the same, whether it was bamboo, thyme or dogwood. all were sticks that were clearly NOT what was advertised. shipping was separate for each order. received a reply from ubid that they would contact the vendor which usually takes 48 hours.

first reply issued 05/03/2008. it is now 5/28/2008 and have written several times. no meaningful reply, just standard email that i first received. unknown at thsi time, due to the fact that i will ask for refund from my credit card company. if not received, then approximately $80.00.

i was a member, wished to lace a $270 bid on an hp s3027c pavillion desktop--mistyped $370, tried to correct error, then got a screen saying bid declined 'due to improper e-mail address. went thru this 3 times--finally thought i was 'safe', as they repeatedly kept denying bid, did not respond to 'bid-error correction'--went to sleep. next day $370 gone.

as a former Fed, this, and other ubid events,Are 'Wire-Fraud'. read on--they offer Chinese watches. before i bought one, i mailed as to 'country-of-origin' and was told they had Swiss movements, assembled in China--absolute lie, and again 'Wire-Fraud'.

to the best of my data, most of these computers sold via ubid for +/- $260-- after refusing to let me instantly correct bid error, saying 'bid refused' i'm 'ripped' for $100.

Purchased a replacment battery for laptop, was stated Brand- NEW Manufacturer Gateway for customer, wasn't just under 30 days the customer complained the battery wasn't able to run the laptop. Sure enough the battery was dead, unable to accept a charge. I contacted Ubid, they said manufacture warranty was only 15 days. This was not on any paper work, invoice or even on the purchase order. Yet every battery on their web site was 6 months. Not only costing me $67.00. I have to purchase another battery now. No exchange, refund, only a short to bad email.

This makes me look bad to my customers when they sell junk to unload, then won't back up the product. Sell from warehouse, then say 3rd party vendor

I have a habit of buying things, Whether on e-bay, or u-bid, or just about anyplace I could find where I think I'm getting a good price. This incident just happened last week. I bid on and won a laptop for my wife and an LCD Tv for me. The laptop was great, while the TV stunk. I got an RMA # and then returned it . Then I got a little jealous of my wife's laptop. I went on U-Bid and found a great laptop for 279.00 but only 4 minutes left on the bid. I panicked and just clicked on buy it now . How could I let that great deal get away. This was done on Sat. night at midnight. I decided to get some sleep and look at the item and the details on Sunday. It turns out that it was an item sold by a third party, not U-bid. It also had a 59.95 shipping fee, when the laptop I purchesed last week was only 39.95. After further reading thas laptop I just agreed to buy had a three(3) day guaranty where the other one had a 6 month guaranty. No problem, all I would have to do was call and cancel, my order due to misrepresntation.

But no-one from customer service works on Sunday. I then tried e-mailing, and did get through, but just to a person that said he would forward my info to a cust. service rep on Monday. I ended up writing about 5 or 6 e-mails because I was quite upset. I woke up on Monday and immediately called the office and spoke to a customer service rep. She started out nice but ended up nasty. I should have read the fine print. I said I ordered it in a hurry and thought since I was buying from U-Bid everything would be ok. She informed me that i Purchased it form a third party supplier and he can put whatever warranty he wants, and he could also charge whatever he wants for shiiping.

Much to my dismay, I asked the representative if U-Bid screens these third party vendors and had any rules . she said yes. When I asked her why they would allow such a small return window and such large shipping fees she said I should have read better. I didn't lose my patience yet but remained calm and asked her to explain to me why I just printed out my shipping statusand it said that it was still at the supplier's warehouse and the seller's ID was U-Bid. If the item is still at the warehouse why couldn't I cancel it. Even for a nominal charge I would. She insisted that the seller will not cancel. The item would ship out as originally planned then once I recieve it, I should call U-Bid for an RMA#. I would have to pay to ship it back, then have to pay a 15% restocking fee as well.

Now this item that I don't even want is going to cost me well over $150.00 ahfter the $279.00. And that is if they even take it back becuse no matter how fast I move . There is no way to recieve it then transship it back to whereever in 3 days is virtually impossible, despite the fact that I am handicapped and in a wheelchair0. U-Bid should not be doing business by claiming they are a member of the Better Business Bureau and has been in business for ten years. Stay clear of U-Bid . com

I had bid on, and won, 6 Diamond heart pendants. I only recieved 5 of the 6. It wasn't until after I won that I realized I was being charged shipping for each one ($93 total for shipping) and yet they all arrived in a USPS envelope with a $2.00 postage sticker. Thats $91.00 for handling which they didn't even get right as I wasn't shipped all 6!!!

I was charged for Items I didn't recieve! I was gregiously overcharged for shipping.

I bought a diamond ring and returned it for false advertising. It has been 2 weeks since they received the item and never credited my credit card for the amount of $2779.00. Now I have to pay the interest of this purchase.

I bid on a digital camera and won and the thing does not work! You can't take a picture, it doesn't do anything!

It was a Christmas present for my granddaughter! Naturally she didnt get the one thing she wanted!

I won a bid for 4 units 3.5 tft screen refurbished color televisions for $32 dollars each. It appeared to be a nice deal. However when shipping charges were presented to me the following day, they billed shipping as if they were 4 individual packages at $26.50 per package. In reality, they shipped a single 8lb package UPS ground for $111.00

They hid $100 dollars in extra, unnecessary and probably fraudulent shipping charges behind confusing, unclear language which wasn't presented to me at the time I placed the bid.

I was/am bidding for many laptop computers at different times on UBID, and I notice that there are few people from different places trying to bid each time against me. Their names are very familiar to me. I think they are from the same network trying to bid against me to raise the price of the item (possibly for UBID). I asked myself how could these people keep bidding item after item? What is the coincidence?

During the last few minutes bidding for an item, when I hit the key CONTINUE to execute the bid, the software is not excecuting and show blank in the price box, as if I was outbidded by someone else. Without knowing, I ended up bidding against myself and had raised the price up a few times. After three times, I was able to excecute the bid. It seems like cheating to raise the price.

I bought a 50 inch Sony TV which arrived and worked fine for 9 months. The TV is now a 100 pound boat anchor because that is all its good for after it died last week. I bought a 2 year extended warranty, which evidently isn't worth the paper it's written on. I have called 5 times now to try to get a repairman out to fix my warranted TV. Nothing. They had the audacity to tell me they are having a problem locating a service outlet in my area.

I got on Sony's website, got their 800 number and called them. The lady informed me that there were 3 Sony repair shops in my local area. I called UBID back again for the sixth time, and told them about how I found 3 repair shops in my area while they could find none. The person then informed me that none of these shops were on their list of authorized repair shops.

The only damage was to my wallet. I bought an extended warranty for $280, but have got nowhere with their claims department. They offer an extended warranty which they underwrite, then claim they can't find an authorized repair shop. I found 3 within 5 minutes. What, do they expect these shops to fix my TV for free out of their pocket? What did my $280 go to?

I bought a Compaq laptop for $299.00 +39.00 shipping on UBid.com. It was advertised as factory refurbished. It arrived one week later and when I plugged it in it seemed to work fine for about 45 minutes and then the battery charge was used up and that is when I realized the A/C power pack plug was not working. The icon in the tray had remained showing "battery" for that time. Once the laptop shut off after the battery was depleted it no longer comes on.

I immediately emailed UBID on their complaint form and checked the return policy which said I had 15 days to report problem (this was exactly 7 days from payment date) and 30 days to return item. I went to Best Buy and bought a new A/C power pack figuring it was just the power pack but the new one wouldn't work either. I have been writing to UBID for over a week trying to get an RMA number which they state in their policy you need to return an item. I don't know what to do with this totally non-functioning piece of junk they sent me. I assume if I just send it back I'll end up loosing the money I paid for it.

I am senior citizen on a fixed income and was thrilled to find a laptop that I could afford. I am, so far, out the money and the computer. I am very distraught over this. I wish I had seen this site before I bid on anything on UBid.com.

I won an auction on uBid. My order was supposed to ship in 2 days. I waited 11 days, and then e-mailed uBid and they asked me to give them an additional 5 days for processing. I then received another email stating that my order had been cancelled due to an oversight in inventory. Then they offered me $5.00 towards my next purchase.

They stated My Credit Card had not been charged, but I saw they had taken the amount the day after the auction ended. I wouldn't buy a life preserver from them if I was drowning.

Bid on a hdtv 32 inch on or about 12/21/06, won bid for 527.00. I called numerous times on the product and the only answers that they could give me was that they were on back order and would need to get up with the vendor/buyer. I then received an e-mail that they have another brand hdtv 32 inch, I let them know that i would accept the other product. I then called once again on that product and was told the same as above were on back order or product came in damaged and would need to get up with the vendor/buyer. I then called on the 12/19/06 and was told the same as above and that they would research it and get back with me.

Also told me i could cancel my order if i wanted to, i said no, research and get back with me about this problem. i also so stated to her been over 30 days replace the product with a 42 inch for the inconvenience you have caused me. She stated she could not do that and will do the research on this problem. Ubid also gave me a 50.00 certificate for my next order when i stated to them I had bought one of the tvs for my twin boys for their birthday..

On 1/16/07 I made a bid on a gps system. My bid for $99.00 was sucessful. But to my suprise the shipping charge was $199.00. My credit card was billed Fo $200.00 more than I bid And customer service was not suprised and said that there was nothing they would do to to rectify this scam.

Their stated auction close time for lot number 601783531 was extended a full 24 hours. This is no doubt this was done simply to push up the price. I was not provided the item I rightfully purchased.

I purchased a PS2 game for my son's birthday on uBid. I made the purchase Oct. 21, 2006. I got an email on Oct. 31 that it had shipped. I NEVER received my son's game for his birthday (which was Nov. 13). I contacted uBid several times and never got a timely response. I never got an email from them or anything. It was the WORST online shopping experience ever.

My son was so disappointed when he did not get the birthday present he really wanted. I felt so bad for him and it is hard to explain BAD BUSINESS to kids. Now the other site I could have purchased the PS2 game from has sold out. I am still looking for the game for my son.

I bid some old coins that looked like something of value online. it was about $10 for the amount of bidding. I received the items 2 weeks after it was delivered. I work for the military and i had to do some field job at that time. when i opened the envelope, i was so disappointed with the so called antique coins. it looked like one of those coins you get at disneyland when you press a penny. The real astounding part too is they charged me so much on shipping which was $60.77 but it says on the stamp $3.77 only.

I called UBID and they said that the vendor cannot accept the return cause the 15 days grace period was over. I explained my situation but to no avail. They said that they cant do anything with it. I checked my receipt if there is such thing as 15 day return policy and there was none.

The $70.77 doesn't seem so much of an amount if you look at it, but for someone like me who works for the military, that is a big deal. that money could buy me 1 week's worth of food. I am very disappointed and felt that i was victimized by a scam.

I bid on a laptop, Sony Vaio. For some reasons, when I made a higher bid to try to secure the laptop in the last three minutes of the biding process, I kept receiving web pages saying to bid again. I kept bidding, unknown to me, against myself and I jacked up the price to about $150.00 more. I sent e-mails,explaining the problem, but to no avail. When I got hold of customer care, they were RUDE and seemed to not care.
