Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I see why you all have so many complaints. I will make sure I never order anything from this site again. I was very angry when I ordered a bunch of Family Affair DVDs and they all had a problem playing. I could not watch one show without screwing up. I see that your company has screwed a lot of people. I have spent $120.00 on my DVDs and I got screwed. Never again will I ever order anything from this place.

I ordered Punky Brewster - The Complete TV Series on DVD 624 from the Planet DVD's website. When I received the DVDs, I realized that they were copied from the TV, have horrible picture and sound quality even though the website states "Excellent video and audio quality". Also, under the description of the Punky Brewster DVD collection, the website states that these are brand new. I contacted them through the contact form on their website, as well as emaling them at **, letting them know that I would like to return the DVDs and get my money back (according to the website, they have a 30-day money back guarantee). But I also requested that they pay me back the shipping and handling charges. Their website states that shipping and handling charges would not be returned and I would completely understand that if I had purchased the DVDs then just changed my mind for no reason. But considering their website was not at all honest (the DVDs are definitely not brand new) and gave a completely false description of the quality of these DVDs, I requested the full sum returned, including the shipping and handling total of $79.90.

I obviously never would have purchased these and paid such a large shipping and handling fee (they charge over $20 for shipping a small box of DVDs) if their website was honest in the first place about the fact that these are not brand new DVDs, and that they are of extremely poor quality (even the DVDs' box and cover were completely different from the photo on their website).

The response I received from them is that they would only give me the money back for the product, not cover the shipping and handling charges. They never addressed their dishonesty. They stated in the response: Please keep in mind an Official DVD Collection has never been released for this series and what you received was a Collector's/Fan Version. However, nowhere under the description of this DVD series on their website did it say this. I wrote back stating that, yet again, they are lying because the DVDs have in fact been released (I even included the release dates for each season).

As of right now, they have not responded to that email and once again, their description says brand new and of excellent video and audio quality. Both of which were false statements. They are not selling "brand new" DVDs. These DVDs literally look like a kid recorded them from TV onto a very old DVDs and each DVD has a sticker on it with the season written in bad handwriting. I can't stress enough how bad the quality of these DVDs is.

I purchased "Sliders The Complete Episode" in April of 2009. I received the videos in a some-what timely delivery. As I began to watch these videos, it was apparent that while they had approximately 4-6 episodes on each DVD, they did not all play correctly, some repeated mis marked DVDs, and some with a completely different show.

As I went through them all, I contacted Planetdvdstore.com and directed my complaint to the the "contact us" department. I explained the problem and wanted to get replacement DVDs for those that did not work. I received a response from a Kathy ** telling me to go through the DVDs and make a list of those that did not operate properly or that were duplicates or had the wrong content along with the order number. This was July 2009. I sent the information off and heard nothing. I again sent off a copy of the prior correspondence and a new email.

In Sept. 2009, Kathy again replied with a copy of my prior correspondences requesting the Order Number. I again replied and since that time I have heard nothing from Kathy or the company despite further emails and complaints. This company is a rip-off and I am going to find out what their phone number is and I will continually send so many emails they will respond. They have no phone number for customer support that I can find. This has cost me almost 100.00 dollars and I have DVDs that will not play in most cases at all in any DVD player.

PlanetDVDStore fraudulently charged my credit card for an order I did not place. I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and change my card number. I then contacted PlanetDVDStore via email and advised them I did not authorize the charge. An individual with a gmail account emailed me back and stated the order would not be processed. They MANUALLY charged my credit card. I have no idea where or how they obtained my credit card number. However, PlanetDVDStore is not registered with the State of Illinois and the phone number is listed as unpublished. I plan to follow up and obtain as much information as I can. Further, if these items are being shipped from China, this company (if it even exists) would need an import license, I believe. If anyone has address or phone number or other info on this company, please post it. Thanks.

Ordered Chips complete TV series on DVD. I was mis-led into thinking I was getting original box set. I received a parcel from China with pirate copies that were of very poor quality and a total rip-off. Every episode had Bravo on the screen which is proof they were recorded from Sky TV.

I recently ordered the entire series of Andy Griffith. I decided a couple of minutes later to order a set of Cosby since the shipping was $12.50. Well, I've written two e-mails trying to contact them before they send them so I can have them send both. I have not heard anything from them, and they do not have a phone number. I'm thinking about disputing this with my credit card company. I will have lost money if they go ahead and just send one set of DVDs. I'm also concerned about my credit card after reading other complaints about this place.

I purchased a complete series set of "Hart to Hart" for $69.95 ($79.08 with postage). This was advertised on the website as new 17 disc set. I received from Beijing, China a 24-disc set of discs recorded from various cable channels. These were so poor of quality that after 15 to 20 minutes, the sound and the picture deteriorated to the point that they are unwatchable. When I contacted the International BBB, I was told that they could do nothing about it and that this company has scammed thousands of individuals. I also contacted the USA Federal Government to report the fraud. They are still working on it.

I ordered 2 boxed sets of Carol Burnet the complete tv series. Total $112.00 I received them opened in a plastic case with burnt dvds in sleeves not what there site showed at all from bejeing. I told them one was for a gift. I have emailed twice back no responses there is no phone to reach them also.I'm very upset I want a refund like they state but no one is contacting me back also they tried to use my credit card cause MC called me about fraud a week later so now I have new cards.

I purchashed items from planetdvdstore
and once the item arrived it was not totally fulfilled, so I contacted them about several times and have not received any response.
They should not be allowed to trick

customers the way they do.

Sells pirated DVD's copied off of television. Advertises excellent picture (video) quality. Picture is very poor with constant fluttering. Company lists no physical-address on their website. Ships from China. Does not reply to emails. Likely also operates DVDdonkey. Changes their name frequently.

Charged me $86 on my Visa, which I am disputing. They change the amount of the charge to get around my blocking an amount.
