All my accounts in Imvu were disabled for no reason and they say lies in their messages and I'm pro creator in that website. I did spend 4 years working hard in this website and Imvu takes away all my work and my credits. Is there a way to stop these kinds of websites who rape us?

My second account has now been banned, also in a matter of 2 weeks from my original account being banned. This time, it's linked to a different account, which owes 700 dollars. Now, how can that be when I've only had it for 2 weeks? I am now on my 3rd account and I'm begging IMVU to help me, like I mean begging literally. I am so distressed by this. I cannot cope why they won't help me. I haven't used any of these linked accounts. I don't know who they are at all. I need help as I don't want to keep being banned all the time. Someone help me please. There must be a way. I did use a 3rd party company to buy credits which needed my name and password.

Okay, this is for all the people that were banned from IMVU from 2010-12. The reason why most of you might have got banned is you bought your credits. In 2010, IMVU discovered fraud with its 3rd party who sold credit to the players. So if you bought any credit from a 3rd party that asks for your password and username, don't trust them. You're most likely going get banned when IMVU updates its system. How did I know this? This is what happened to me and I did my own investigation. I look through and see if I was the only one and I wasn't and learned what happened. So be careful where you buy your credits because cheap is always not good.

Every day, I get unwanted messages from hackers who are saying they have read my profile and warning me they are a friend of my girlfriend or boyfriend. I am getting tired of deleting spam. Can you stop this? Please help me stop spam IMVU.

Okay, so I tried to log into my account a few days ago and the password came up as invalid. So I tried uninstalling and re-installing IMVU. It didn't make a difference. So then I had a little stress and got a little upset (suffer from extreme anxiety and depression). Then, I calmed down and made myself a new account to contact IMVU by making a ticket. I think it's called that. Anyway, I filed a ticket asking what was going on and asked for help. The reply came pretty quickly about 24 hours later and they said my account was linked to an account called diospiry and I had $200 of charge backs and a $100 fine!

I have no idea what that means and I have emailed them again, saying there is no way I'm going to pay for anything I have not spent as every penny I have spent I have proof of. What do I do now? I want my account back. I must have spent hundreds of pounds on it. Someone, please help me. Can trading standards help? Also, my brother is a solicitor. Would it help of I inform them of this? Please help.

Okay, so I tried to log into my account and my password was "invalid" so I tried to reset it and got an email saying my account was permanently banned for payment fraud. I was shocked. I have never stolen anything in my life! They have a charge back of $440.00 in my account and it cannot be reactivated. I hate IMVU! Their customer service doesn't even listen to you or your problems and they are trained to say I understand and I'm sorry all day long when they don't. I would rather the entire site be shut down!

IMVU has bad service, awful, and lacks security. Anyone can disable anyone, it takes a group of people to harass and attack one person, and then you're disabled over something stupid. You spend so much money and it isn't even worth it. Servers are always crashing, and if you get disabled, it takes you eternity to get it back. You can easily get hacked. You're unable to do hardly anything. Second Life offers so much more than IMVU.

It's the 2nd account I have since the 1st one got hacked or something and I lost all my stuff so I messaged ijji with no replies. Then I decided to create a new one and start from new. I invested some cash on it and loved for long time, till 2 weeks ago when I enter my account and half my stuff were missing. I even changed email. After that last week, I was trying to log in when I got this, your ip account has been blocked or something. I didn't do anything wrong so I wanted you guys to help me. I didn't use anything illegal. Nothing. So help.

A few days ago, I gave my password to my friend and I told her not to log in when I'm online. After we were done chatting, I was suddenly crashed and when I tried to log in, it said "invalid ava name or password". What does that mean? Did she try to log in when I was online? Or is it something else? Can anyone please tell me !! I want my account back. Please help me.

I don't know what happened to my AVA. I can log in to Imvu. I'm never doing anything illegal here. I just want to know what happened to my AVA account. I hope the owner of Imvu can help me to find my problem. Thanks. My Ava being lost is "dedylikesjagger."

My account, VerlockRasimus, was disabled because IMVU is accusing it for payment fraud by linking it with another account that was supposed to have gifted me of which that account was disabled for violating IMVU's TOS. Now IMVU will not re-enact my account until I pay a $670.67 charge back that the other account has rounded up.

My problem is I can log in into Imvu but I cannot chat, invite, the friends list does not appear, the closet it says empty. Basically, I cannot do anything except sending messages to friends. Every time I want to enter room, it says "Imvu error problem getting information from room card." It goes the same with others. For your information, I have tried to re-download and reinstall Imvu many times, trying other versions of Imvu, reconnect my internet, even signing in from other PC but the problem remained the same. Before this happened, I got taking and saving pictures error. It has been a long time since this happened. So I really hope Imvu can do something about this and fix it. I want my Imvu account Seanghazi back to normal.

IMVU have disabled one of my accounts due to apparent payment fraud which was not committed by me but my account is supposedly linked to the person who created the charge backs. I have proven to IMVU with my PayPal statements that I have never purchased credits via an individual and always via a company. IMVU have acknowledged that I am not at fault but will not return my account unless this other person pays the chargeback fees owed to IMVU. All I want is my account back and for IMVU to stop treating me as if I was the one at fault. I have no connection to the person who has committed this fraud and have never dealt with that person. Now, I'm being punished for something I have not done. IMVU, I would like my account PrncssHeavenofSouls account back with my 30,000 credits, all my pending profits, my AP and 300 credits per day due to loss of profits because of your inappropriate closing of my account.

IMVU has targeted in making the interior virtual currency safer, as they claim. They have implemented a procedure call the credit pend for IMVU creators. Creators (IMVU users who pay an extra fee to become a creator) are the ones who have built the majority of the virtual catalog. There have been issues of fraudulent credits floating around in the credit system. The main cause of Fraudulent credits is credit card reversals of purchasing credits, another cause of fraudulent credits is if someone steals the credits, they can transfer the credits out of the stolen account and place them into the thief's account. The plan is to have credits go into a pend (formerly called a credit escrow, but IMVU was quick to change the name). While these credits are being held for 14 days in the pend, they are being checked (according to IMVU) to see if there are any fraudulent credits. If there is, they are removed from the pend, the original holder of the credits is disabled, and the creator loses the sale. There have been reports of missing credits, credits bypassing the pend, and confusion of reading IMVU reports provided by IMVU. The 4 reports are not accurate, and there have been many cases of people posting in the forums about missing credits since the "help desk" (their Customer Service) has not been responding back.

We, as creators, feel they are targeting the creator community and not focusing on the site as a whole. This implement was tested by a small fraction of the creator community, only to be quickly put into place with glitches and problems. There are over 700 pages, in the IMVU forums, of people showing dislikes, statements of shortages, pleas of changing to a simpler method in fear of not being able to survive as a creator in the IMVU creator community.

To many creators, it is in fact a way of earning profits to make a living. Quite a few make very comfortable livings. But as some proof shown in the forums, some of those bigger creators are seeing substantial sinks in their credit income.

IMVU has a developer set up where the developer or content creators make virtual products and sells them on IMVU. IMVU, the CC and anyone who derives from the CC makes profit off the sale of the products. They are paid in credits, which can be redeemed for cash. The past week or two, IMVU has started holding back our credits until they were holding at all times 2 weeks' worth of our credits. For some people, the amount is very small but for some people, the amount is worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. IMVU said it is to protect us from people who fraud and steal credits. I think it is IMVU who is stealing our credits, perhaps like a bank, they make interest so holding on to them means they profit more. I do not know if this is legal. IMVU does whatever they want like there is no law or protection of the people who work very hard to earn income. Some of us live on this income and pay taxes as well. They try to say that credits are not income in themselves, but IMVU sells credits and even sells them in the form of prepaid cards. How are they not income?

My girlfriend, who is 70 years old, is running a scam using a phoney birth date, saying that she is 21 years old. Can you please shut her down before some weirdo hurts her?

I have been dealing with a person harrassing me on there, I am a creator, and this person went as far as to make a clone account of me, and used it to attack my friend, he also has been harassing about 15 other women

IMVU does nothing to protect us, it affect our time ont here affects our work, and they do little to provide any sort of service, the number is for billing only and all customer service tickets filed are ignored.

This user on this site has gone as far to give out his cell number to other woman and demand they call him or he will call the police, he even impersonated staff as well as the threats sent to me and others are a violation of their TOS and they refuse to do anything to protect the consumers. there have been again hundreds of reports filed, IMVU should provide us with a safe place. His duplicate account of me he made also made her a developer like to in an attempt to replace me

They also had at one time charged me4 times a month for VIP it is only one charge a month I will never get all of it back, they are very corrupt

My wife spent about $2,000 on IMVU over a 2 year time period. After 2 years of being an active paying member, they disabled her. When she made a new account and paid for advanced customer support, so she could get her old account back, they disabled the new account also. We had to make a third account and make a scene on their forums just to get help from a moderator. The moderator helped us get a ticket through, and the final verdict from their support was that the account was permanently banned for being associated with another account. When we asked who she was associated with, they pointed us towards the account of 15 year old girl who my wife had made a custom skin for.

They told us that this other girl had billing problems, and since she had spent her ingame currency (credits) paying my wife for a custom skin which my wife did make...they were associated through the transaction of ingame currency. So, she got her account taken for the actions of a complete stranger. My wife was desperate to get her account back though, so she even made an offer to IMVU to pay whatever the girl owed them. IMVU response was that they could not give my wife her account back under any conditions because it would be a security risk to other users. About 17 more tickets were filed of us arguing with customer support who continued to give us further BS reasons for stealing our money.

My 12 year old daughter created an account on IMVU back in November 2010. She registered and was told by the online help that no cost would be incurred as credits were free. All she had to do was provide a mobile telephone number to activate the account. Little did she know she then received 3 text messages one after another informing her they were costing 10 each text. She panicked and went straight back to the online supporter who had instructed her they were still "free" and the text was a formality.

My December mobile phone bill arrived and there in black and white was 3 text messages for 10 each. That's where the "fighting" began. They suspended the account and now all I have had since then is automated emails saying the matter was being dealt with and one even stated that the money would be sent to my PayPal account within 15 days. That was approximately Christmas 2010.

It is now almost 2 months later and these thieves still have 30 of my money. There is no phone number for me to reach them, all I have is an email address which I get automated replies from. I get stressed out every time I see an email coming from "support@zong.uk.com, thinking that I'm making progress but actually not. It's becoming tedious now, they should not have allowed a 12 year old to open the account. It clearly states minimum age is 13, they lie by enticing children with " free credits". Well yes they are free as the parent has to pick up the bill. This company needs monitoring as they act fraudulently. In the UK we have Trading Standards but unfortunately they will not act on my behalf due to the company being based in the states.

This company IMVU is a crook. My daughter download the software, unable to delete and causing a lot of technical problem in the computer. Beside technical problem, I notice this company still charging my account $9.99 every month, which I cancelled the subscription last year. I just notice my bank statement today and called them and don't want to cancel the account. I did call my bank and cancelled my account. Another thing to is, I noticed a pedophile chatting on line with other kids and that is why I cancelled the whole thing. This company attracts pedophile, crooks, and software is very hard to removed in your hard drive.

IMVU is some kind of chat site that has kids install their software on their or parent's computers. This software is full of spyware which can bog down even a T1 connection. It takes hours to remove and often errors during this and there is no phone number nor email for IMVU. They want you to install their software to contact them which would be insane. This is a company run by greedy people. Any legitimate company would not present in such way. Judging from others, they seem to be takers; they only take money and offer no support unless it involves giving them money.

Their underhanded tactics have cost me hours of personal time cleaning up the mess that their malware laden software and affiliated spy-ware/trojan companies created.

For 4 years, myself and my wife held accounts on the site: www.imvu.com. The CEO of IMVU explains IMVU: **

Over a time of 4 years, we spent thousands of dollars on their website, about $3000 of which is still recorded on our Paypal account from just the past 365 days. One day me and my wife went to log into our account and found that our accounts had been banned/deleted. We then tried our dev account, badge account, and alt account (other IMVU accounts which we used to sell virtual goods within IMVU), and all of those had been disabled also.

Right away we called IMVU over the phone, but they refused to speak with us and told us to file a complaint on their online customer support system. In order to do this, we had to make a new account, so we did. We filed a complaint and waited a week. After a week nothing had happened, so we posted a message on their forums about our problem. We were responded to on the forums by several people within 24 hours, all of which told us that it takes at least a month to get a response back from IMVU customer support, unless you pay $10 for VIP status which gives you advanced customer support.

We paid the $10 and waited 3 more days with no response to our support ticket. Then we filed a new ticket and 3 days latter our new account which we had not used for anything other than customer support was disabled/banned without any type of explanation or warning. We even checked our junk email folder.

Three times we repeated this, paying $10 for a new VIP account, and waiting 3 days only to have our new account, which were used for nothing by customer support, deleted/banned.

After this, we thought our computer might have been compromised with some sort of malware that steals IMVU passwords, so we asked a friend with VIP on their site to file a complaint for us. Our friend filed the complaint for us, and he to was immediately banned/disabled 3 days after filing the complaint. After that, it was obvious that someone on IMVU does not like us, and that we were being treated seriously wrong.

A month later had been about two months now since our accounts were disabled and a month since our last customer support account was disabled, so we decided to try and take legal actions. We filed 3 Paypal disputes to try and get our money back, but all 3 disputes were immediately closed because our most recent transactions with IMVU had been 46 days ago and Paypal does not deal with disputes over transactions older than 45 days old.

Now we are here. We either want my wife's account back (**), or a refund of $100, so we can comfortably create a couple of second life accounts (relocate our social activities) where we know we will be treated right.

My sister sent me credits on my last login date of 8,000 estimated credits. Now, I am trying to resend her original 8,000 credit back to her however, I'm receiving a very strange error message which advises that I have sent the maximum account of credit per day.

This is totally false as I've never sent any credits within my account since it's duration. Also, I noticed the amount of credits is totally different than what my sister has sent me. I never used any of the estimated 8000. Please contact me ASAP regarding these issues. As a result of the response, I feel as if I've been robbed.

IMVU's response is as follows: "Hello, Thank you for contacting IMVU. IMVU limits the amount of credits and/or time frame in which credits can be transferred on new accounts, accounts which have recently changed their email address, or recently purchased credits. We do this for the protection of the account owner and the other members of IMVU.

"The waiting period can be up to a week or more, but no longer than 2-3 weeks time at most. Unfortunately, there is no way to override this restriction. You will need to wait until it has been reset to resume normal credit transfers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us again."

I have spent a lot of money on IMVU in the past 4 years. I have always been a loyal customer. In November of 09, I restarted my participation in the VIP club (I had been unable to afford it for a few months.) and selected monthly charge. I then saw that there was a cheaper quarterly package and I then canceled the monthly and ordered the quarterly package.

Few months passed and I happened to notice in my bank statement that I had been charged both quarterly 2 times which was okay but also charged monthly for the same service. I emailed the "special VIP email address", only be told, "Oh, it is your fault. You should have contacted Paypal and had them cancel the subscription." I replied to them, No. Paypal is the method I pay but IMVU is responsible for canceling it. I was told IMVU has no control over subscriptions and that it was Paypal's responsibility.

After several back and forth emails I was told, "Okay, we canceled VIP." I got email stating I was now out of VIP. Imagine to my surprise when on the next month, I was charged another $25 for quarterly VIP and $10 for monthly. I no longer was getting VIP benefits but IMVU is still charging me it. I have filed wrongful/unauthorized charge complaint in Paypal and IMVU replied that I authorized it. I am calling Paypal again tonight and to see what I can do. IMVU has now wrongfully charged me around $200.

At the beginning of May 2010, Imvu took $70 out of my account in a matter of 2 days (unauthorized). When I contacted them via phone, they kept telling me they had no record of the transactions. I told them I spoke to my bank so I have it on record. Then they proceeded to tell me that I had to speak to Paypal so I called Paypal and Paypal then removed my info so that Imvu couldn't take any more money out of my account. I had to call Imvu again, and again they sent me back to Paypal.

I called Paypal again and told the man I spoke to that Imvu was blaming them for taking the money out of my account. The man I spoke to contacted Imvu so that we can do a 3-way call in which Imvu had no idea that Paypal was on the line. They proceeded to tell me the same info as the first 2 times I spoke to them. The man from Paypal told the woman that I did everything that they said I needed to do. Imvu said that in 7 -10 days, the money would be returned to my account. Needless to say, I haven't received anything back.

I have been a member of Imvu since December of 2007. I have hundreds of thousands of "credits" invested in my account over the years. Over that time, many items that I bought with credits purchased have been removed from my inventory, after they were supposedly found to be rated improperly. I received no refund of my credits for most of these items. And about 2 weeks ago, I was chatting with some longtime friends and was disconnected. When I tried to log back in, I got an error message stating that the username and password combination I entered was invalid. I retyped my saved username and password several times, with the same results.

As of today, there is no change. Anyway, out of curiosity I contacted a friend of mine who is a fellow Imvu user via another chat service, and asked her if my Imvu username showed in her list as online, thinking maybe someone had hacked into my account and changed the password. When she checked, she said I was not in her friends list anymore. When she typed in my name to view my Imvu homepage, she received a message that my account had been deleted or disabled. I immediately submitted a help request, asking for an explanation.

Two weeks later, I have received no answer, besides an automated response with a link to the same place I filled out the service ticket before. I filled out a second one a couple days after the first, and neither case number has had any response. A couple of my friends have had almost identical experiences, but just opened new accounts when their inquiries as to the disabling of their accounts went completely unanswered. Well, I refuse to invest any more money in the company. They have stolen what probably amounts to hundreds of real dollars from me on one account, so I will certainly not be opening another so they can steal more.

I used a service called Dao Pay to buy credits for IMVU.com. Dao Pay confirms my payment but IMVU.com has yet to give me the 10,000 credits i paid 14.95 for. I have gone back and fourth with IMVU showing my proof of payment from Dao Pay but IMVU.com insist the call was not completed. I still have not received my 10,000 credits from IMVU.com and I'm very upset with this. I have included the entire back and forth notes from IMVU.com and myself.

I would like to complain about their inappropriate advertising. I see their ads everywhere which depict couples basically having sex. This is totally inappropriate and disgusting. I love sex and am not normally a prude, but I am also a parent and do not think this type of ad should be allowed anywhere for underage children to see.

This is an internet 3D chat site however this site has u pay for VIP and AP status for adults. I had this account with this site for over a year. Last month they became profitable, because they are charging money for these status and there "credits" are something u buy with real dollars. On this site I owned a club so I was not obligated to buy credits or such i was gifted my stuff however a day ago i tried to log in and discovered i had been disabled. No warning to my email. Jus took what money i divested and ran. Now they require i set up another account jus to contact them and complain about the first account being disabled. My daughter is on this site and i dont want to leave her on this site because she has developed some friends and a pen pal on there however im not going to spend the real money to get the status and club back over again.

I lost over 300 dollars in buying credits for my daughter and for myself. My daughter had numerous accounts and she has been disabled 3 times. I would not recommend this site to anyone and would like to recover either my name and account back or the money spent in this silly site, along with the friend ships that my daughter will loose being that i would not allow her to be on this site with out me anymore.

I am a member of an online chat space called imvu. Originally they began as an Adult 3-d Chat space. Although free to enroll you do have to purchase credits with Real money via C.C or in store purchase. Recently the Company Began opening the chat to those 13 and over. They took on new Policy Changes these changes called for the Re-rating and working of the Virtual Goods. Upon the re-rating, Items in the Personal inventory of The client such as myself were removed with no reimbursement.

Now although they tell you that the credits belong to them and are at their discretion to reimburse or not they do not tell you that if you purchase an item in the catalog that does not meet the standard of the V.G.P that you will not be reimbursed. Now you get 1000 credits per 1 dollar.. so if you purchase something for 15,000 credits it cost you 15 dollars real dollars.. If it gets re-rated then they remove it from your inventory and do not reimburse you whether in credits or equivalent item or real money. In short they steal from you.

Failure to address an issue with a group that imvu promotes in their daily outfit challenge. Imvu lets young children into the group that not only has people roll playing (an in an adult way) the group has attacked people and banned them.Without retribution. It also has a man who's profiles depict a young girl with a girls name when in real life he is a 40 something male. Imvu has had numerous complaints but still allows this group not only to stay but imvu promotes it.

2.) imvu hold a daily outfit challenge that in itself has massive cheating. This cheating has come down to fraud. Which is looked at and answered as they are beta and they are allowed to have "glitches' well in the mean time people are spending real money buying credits and making entries to no avail. People still enter that have hopes that will win . This contest was also run with celebrities offering prizes to the top winners and still imvu did nothing about the cheating

3.) Developers are losing money due to many complaints not being answered

4.) When a complaint is filed against a member the issue is never responded to (harassing issues) copies of everything and facts of it all are available upon request

The BBB gave them a a chance at a final answer and her is what I got FROM IMVU

Thanks for your response. As I mentioned previously, we respond to safety complaints very quickly, usually within a day. And our abuse flags usually get a review within 1-2 days. I researched the account and found nothing out of order with her account with us. There were certainly no complaints of child endangerment. I asked for specific examples, including avatar names, of those who participated in fraud or child endangerment, and you did not provide that information. I also asked for your avatar name so that I could research the items you may have already reported but I still don't have that either. The "Report Abuse" link is available in many areas of our site and client and we rely on our community to flag items for our review. If you are still encountering issues that we need to investigate, please use those links to flag the items/areas for review. You may not get a response to the flagging directly, but as I mentioned, we will make a decision on the situation in 1-2 days.

I was not allowed to respond to that last post from IMVU they closed the complaint and left IMVU rating at A+

About three to four weeks ago, I paid a certain amount to IMVU-credits.com, not knowing it was a fraudulent site. After a couple of days, I started to get impatient. I went back to imvu-credits.com and told them what was happening, still oblivious to the danger I was in financially. They sent me a receipt number in an email along with a link to a site (based at Livechat.com). So, I clicked the link, and it took me to a blank page that had a 4-7 letter word/name at the top. I can't for the life of me remember what it was, and I am unwilling to click that link again.

Anyway, I waited another couple of days, and, needless to say, the IMVU credits had still not arrived. (for those of you unfamiliar with IMVU, it is a 3d chat client, similar to second life, and you pretty much buy IMVU credits to buy clothing to dress your Avatar/3d character. Search it on Google to find out more.) I went to Pay Pal to lodge a complaint, and they told me to send my complaint to the actuall person in charge of the account. I emailed them with the appropriate complaint, and they replied twice as follows:

Email 1: "Sorry for the delay Sir, because there are some unexpected delays with the IMVU credits delivery, so the time is postponed some days. Once we resolve the problem, we will send to your account as soon as possible."

And here is where it gets good: (This dud's English is atrocious): Email 2: "if you want refund, I also can apply for you but need, tomorrow, if you do, write to me tomorrow."

There was no "thank you" attached to the bottom of these or any other official looking stuff you would expect from a company. I am under the belief that this "person" has leaked my information to other people/scam/fraud sites, as since then, my bank account has had $36AUD upward taken directly out of it every 2 days. Luckily, I spotted it fairly early, and was able to freeze my account. I am going to see if I can get my back, but I will just have to wait.

I remember coming to this site not that long ago and reading all of the other peoples stories, thinking: Wow, I would never get scammed like that. Naive thinking, I know. It's always a different story from the other side of the road. Now I know. I have alerted domain.com to the fraud sites, as I have found that the same people run many sites that are dedicated to scamming, and I hope that these sites will be taken down. I know I cannot stop internet scamming all together, but if I stop just this site, I feel as though I may be making an impact-- stopping some other poor soul from making the same mistake as me.

This is the letter I sent to Domain.com: This site claims to be affiliated with the 3dchat site IMVU. They are not. IMVU themselves have said so. I recently, without knowing about them being fraudulent, purchased IMVU credits' from them. they have not supplied me with said credits, and I believe that they have leaked my bank details and information to other sites (which I will complain about afterward... though, for your reference they are: techassistsite.com, achfees.net, pay-shundiesstk.com, and gameim.com) which then resulted in approx $300AUD + being pulled from my account within a couple of months without my permission.
