Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On 03/03/12, I purchased for my 12-yr-old son, a $30 Echo1 E90 300 Round Airsoft Magazine. My son received it. I watched him attach it and attempt to use it. It did not work; it was jammed. I was upset, and being a busy mom, I did not mail it back immediately, but, mailed it back on 03/27/12, regular mail, with stamps on the envelope that I had had weighed. Well, I then e-mailed them on: 4-19, 4-25, 4-26, 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 & 5-7-12 and each time got nowhere or no response. I asked for someone to call me, no one did. I demanded a supervisor, no one called, no supervisor e-mailed me. I have called six times now. No one is calling me back. I've been told they cannot find the item.

I tried to order an item on sale on HobbyTron website. They do not list the accurate prices. You don't find this out until you come to check out and find they charge you more than what their "sale price" says. Real ignorant people in the "chat" room too. Don't trust this company!

They do not give refunds. They do not repair items. If your item is defective or broken in shipping, tough luck—you are out of your money. Here is my experience with this company.

I purchased a remote control truck from HobbyTron on 11/27/2010. This was my son's Christmas present so I ordered it well in advance in case any issues came up. I received the truck on 12/6/2010 and followed the directions and charged the battery overnight. I plugged it in and no response whatsoever. I called HobbyTron on 12/7/2010 (waited 20 minutes for a human to answer). I asked if they could charge my credit card for another one, let me send this back, and then they could credit my credit card when they received the non-working truck. They said they could not do that. They do not provide refunds. They told me I would have to fill out an RMA (return merchandise authorization) on their website and I would have to send it back to them to have it fixed and returned. They said there was no way I would get it before Christmas.

I filled out an RMA on their website and a few days later I received an e-mail saying they were shipping out a new battery and charger. So their RMA means nothing to them. They just assumed it was the battery or charger, even though I told them the battery was warm when charging. I figured we can at least try it. One week passed and no battery or charger in the mail. I called and they said it was "in the process of being shipped". Another week passes and I called. They said, "Well, it is coming from overseas, so it may take a while." I told them that I would be disputing the charge on my credit card and they hung up on me!

I disputed the charge on my credit card and will have to wait up to two months before it is resolved. Here is my advice: do not do business with HobbyTron. Go to your local hobby store and fork out the extra money and get a good remote control car. I did this and paid $185 for an extremely durable car (Traxxas Stampede) and the hobby store will fix the car if it ever breaks for $30 per hour. That assurance alone was worth it to me. The hobby store people know what sucks and what does not. HobbyTron almost destroyed my son's Christmas, but the local hobby store made him happy. HobbyTron is a rip-off company!

The company misleads me (the customer) about the delivery Next-Day Air (which cost me at $55.00) to then the time frame of my refund. This is the worst experience of my life because I was mislead about delivery then lied to on several occasions by **, the Manager of the Customer Service Department. Horrible experience! Horribly unacceptable!

Same old story, I opened the air soft gun on Christmas. Glasses were scuffed and obviously used before. The gun jammed and also appeared to be in "used" condition. I returned the product with the RMA# and never heard from Hobbytron again. Phone calls and emails go unanswered. Do not buy from Hobbytron!

I purchased airsoft gun for Christmas present. It didn't work properly and I tried to contact HobbyTron for return. They said they will not accept return because 30 days had passed. Thirty days have not passed. I filed a complaint with BBB. HobbyTron claimed and said the same thing. They claimed I purchased the gun in May of 2011, which is not true, it was December 2011 and I have bank draft to prove it. HobbyTron receipts do not have purchase dates on them. They are a rip-off company.

My son picked out two Airsoft guns for his birthday. When we got the shipment, one gun was broken at the barrel the other was missing part of the stock. We did let him use the one with the missing part but the trigger broke the next day. I did the online help but they just keep telling me that the broken gun was from shipping (UPS) and that I should go after them.

Well the box did not have a mark on it so it was not caused by shipping, so I am not going to call UPS about this. Hobbytron just sells junk and most of the time they're just tricking over kids. I will stop payment with may charge card. Do not buy from them. And how much are they costing UPS with fraudulent claims.

I ordered a new Airsoft rifle on 1-4-2012. When I removed the rifle from the box, I realized it was missing the internal battery connector. It will not work without it. This item is defective. To add insult to injury, I had to pay to ship it back and I will wait 3-4 weeks before they process my return. This whole process to receive a functional product could take 2-3 months.

You can't get through to their customer service phone line. Their online customer service takes 10-30 minutes before they reply. I'm afraid they will send me another defective product and we will start this process all over again. I will never order from Hobbytron again. I suggest anyone reading this complaint to only buy from a company willing to stand behind their products and service.

Hobbytron has failed to reply to my request for a RMA sent on 12/26/2011. This is the electric Cyma CMO32A M14 Socom Rifle FPS-425 Full Metal air soft rifle I purchased for my son. It was assembled incorrectly in a manner rendering it inoperable. The internal wiring is routed incorrectly preventing the battery to be inserted inside the rifle stock. I have made numerous calls to their 818 number. They haven't answered any calls. I am left to only leaving my telephone number hoping to be called back. That never happened. Now it has passed the 30 Days and this is very disturbing,

I ordered my children's Christmas gifts on 11/23/11. My debit card was immediately charged for the order. As of today, I have still not received the order. I received an order number within an email. When I check the status of the order it is "processing". I have called numerous times, left messages, etc. No one has contacted me. It is impossible to get through to anyone on their customer service number. I also tried to call the supposed retail stored associated with them and did not get an answer there either. I really hope they needed the $67.00 that they extorted from me. Bad karma for them! My kids didn't have those presents for Christmas.

I purchased an RC heli. It didn't work upon delivery. I returned it properly. No word since it's impossible to contact the company. I'm out $45 for the product and $10 for return shipping. Scumbag company owner is a thief. Stay away from these rats. I got mugged online.

I ordered an air soft gun for my son for Christmas. It came and did not have a manual in the box. We charged the battery for 4 hours and nothing happened. The gun does not work. I have emailed them 4 times since December 25. I requested two return authorization numbers and they responded with an email that says they will send me a number via email in 2 days. I never get the return email. The phone is always busy. I never have I been able to speak with a person. I have requested call backs at least 4 times. Never have I got a call back from them. This company really is horrible. They should be shut down. Horrible overall experience. Seems like this is a repeat offense for this company. I would love to see them respond to my requests. Fine them. Any help would be great.

I ordered an airsoft gun for my son for his birthday in November. They sent me the incorrect battery. I have been trying for weeks, but nobody answers the phone and nobody calls back if you leave a message. I just tried to call for the 11th time and it rang in their answering service for 37 minutes before I gave up. Never buy from Hobbytron.com! They take your money and run.

I purchased an airsoft gun for my son and after firing the gun for less than one minute, it stopped working. We found out it was a blown fuse and bought those. It continued to blow fuses and now it does not work at all. I have been trying to make contact with them since 12/26 and have heard nothing. I leave several messages a day and emailed so I could receive the return form but have heard nothing. Isn't there someone that can be contacted to do something about all of these complaints with the company?

My son wanted to order an air soft pistol from Hobbytron. I never thought to check out the legitimacy of the website. They deducted the charge right away from my account but I never received an order number or email. It was a couple of weeks and we still have not received the item. I have tried to call for days and they keep saying lines are busy. I entered some numbers for an extension and ended up leaving a message with two different people. I also left my number for them to return my call as well as sent an email and tried live chat. I still have not gotten a hold of them. My son is upset. This is his birthday money and he wants it back. Now, I have to go to my bank and file a dispute.

We just received the airsoft guns we ordered from Hobbytron (5 plastic guns). They all broke within 24 hours! I called, emailed, and there was no response from them. I'm not even worried about it. I just charged back the entire order with my bank. No problem at all, Hobbytron, I will be credited back within the next 10 days. If they try to debit the account again, I will just cancel my card and get a new one from the bank. Want to talk to me now, you **? Everyone who has been ripped off by these ** needs to charge back their purchase. That will give them the same treatment they give us! Nice try, Hobbytron, but you are the one left out in the cold. No return, no money, can't stay in business long with this kind of thing going on. Bye!

I agree with the majority of posters: Hobbytron should be out of business. They have absolutely no regard for their customers or the general public. You cannot be in the retail business and blatantly ignore your customers. You cannot make them wait on hold for upwards of 30-60 minutes. You cannot allow them to opt for a call back and then not call them back. You cannot make it impossible to contact them. I say we file a class action suit and give them the ultimate wake up call! They must be held accountable for their actions! My issue is not as a customer but as someone who received a package in error.

The name on the box doesn't seem to match the name of the person whose number is on the box. I called the 9000 and 9001 numbers twice with no luck. I opted for a call back but no luck. I called the retail store but no luck. They told me that there are only 3 people answering phones and they've had trouble hiring more people--really? I knew nothing about this company up until today but if they make it this hard to deal with them for something that doesn't even really involve a product grievance, then I pity the people who have those problems! Do all you can to speak out about this problem and something will have to give!

HobbyTron is the worst business. My first time buying their product will definitely be my last! I am trying to call to find out my shipping status and customer service is horrible. They continue to hang up, I have been on hold for 36 mins. and then they hang up on me. Folks, take my advice, do not buy anything from this place. Your blood pressure will go up. I'd rather pay double the price and be able to know I'm getting good customer service. They said it will only take 3 days, but it's been 6 days and my merchandise have not arrived yet. Terrible! Don't shop here! I will rate -0, but it won't allow me to.

I ordered a remote control vehicle online, and the color that was presented was green. I had been looking for a green remote control car for my granddaughter for Christmas. I had searched the web for this item. I ordered it, and specified under comments that if it is not as presented, specifically referring to the color green, not to send it or email me. I received the car, but, in the color red. I called, and got the runaround. I requested an RMA with return postage, since it was their fault, and they refused, plus invoking a 20% restocking fee, even though it was their fault. I have tried to contact them on numerous occasions, only to either be ignored, or have no one answering their phone lines.

Their version of customer service is ludicrous. They are the worst company for customer service. Once you order, they send you anything they want. I won't recommend doing business with them to anyone, unless you like rolling over and playing dead. They are not a firm that possesses integrity. I am reporting their conduct to the NYS Attorney General's office. I can't fulfill a wish of one of my granddaughters for Christmas. Any monetary problems can be rectified by filing a dispute with my credit card company, however, disappointing one of my Granddaughters is unforgivable.

I ordered a gas 1/6 scale car for my son's birthday, and when it arrived yesterday, it was not only in poor condition, but was not the gas-powered car ordered. Also, the car delivered was 1/8 scale, not the item ordered. I tried calling the company for 5 hours, and after holding for 30 minutes at a time, I was transferred to their voice mail.

"Bait and switch" and mail fraud seem to be what they do best. They were refusing to return my calls. I have contacted my bank, and they have opened a fraud report against the company. I want my money back.

I went to the Hobbytron retail store to ask how much they would charge me to replace the springs on two guns. I was told $45 per hour per gun so I walked away. An employee named Mike approached me and stated that they would replace springs on the two guns for $45 plus the cost of springs. I verified this several times to make sure I heard him right so I said okay. I brought the 2 gun the following Monday and dropped off the guns with another employee also named Mike and verified that they would charge me $45 for two guns plus the cost of springs several times. I asked for an estimate receipt and he said they do not issue estimate receipts. I picked up the guns on Tuesday and was charged $45 per gun plus the cost of springs. I mentioned to them that I was told $45 for two guns plus the cost of springs and they said it took two hours of labor to replace the springs on the guns. I argued that I verified several times on two different days about what I was told the cost would be, but that did not help so I paid them and told them I will never do business with them again.

They will look you straight in the eye and lie to you. Do not do business with Hobbytron! You will regret it. They will also tax you for labor fees, which I am not sure is legal in CA. I paid $126 and change for 2 guns and the cost of springs just to get the hell out of there. I hope this business does not succeed due to shady business practices.

Shipped a partial order to me with a back ordered battery. Four weeks went by with no update.

I sent an e-mail request for an ETA on the back order and they responded that the order was shipped complete originally even though the packing slip clearly shows the back order. The email refers you to a phone number that a human will not answer and if you wait long enough, it drops your call. Anonymous, work your magic.

My son used his own money to purchase an airsoft gun. When we opened the box, parts were missing and the gun itself was broken. I requested an RMA number online, after several attempts to contact them by phone. What a joke! I received an email that my son has a credit in which to order another item. We are to call to place an order, have called several times and again, no answer.

I purchased an airsoft rifle and it arrived broken. Their policy is that if it's opened, they won't refund. We spent a total of 3 1/2 hours on the phone trying to speak to a live person and finally got someone. We got a return number and we paid to send it back for "a replacement." A month later, they issued a "store credit" because it is supposedly out of stock now. So, we will need to call in everyday to see if they came in and pay to have it shipped, if it ever does come in. That will be a total of about $45.00 spent in S&H on a $44.00 item.

Well, I was employed at wholesale department of World Trading. I was employed from Feb. 2010 through April 2010 until I had to stop working due to medical leave. Although it was prescribed by the doctor , I still went back to speak to the owner and to guarantee that I will be returning after I had my baby. That was when they told me that they would be moving to a different city and asked if that would be a problem for me. I assured them that it wouldn't. So, after I was cleared to return to work, they completely shut me out. I called everyday about 10-15 times a day and conveniently, the person I had to speak with was never there. Trust me, when I say that I know she was there. I know because when I was employed there and anytime someone would call looking for that person to collect money, that person would always hide and I would have to say they weren't there, although she always was since she was the one who opened in the morning and closed at the end of the day. I was left without a job in which I did not quit and was fired without notice. I fell that justice needs to be done.

Do not order anything from HobbyTron.com. They are a fraudulent business meant to trick people. Their website seemed legitimate so I ordered a nitro rc car from them. I should have read other people's complaints before ordering!

First, they emailed me back to tell me that the item was out of stock for 8-10 weeks and that I could exchange it for another item on their site. I told them that rather than waiting that long, I preferred to cancel my order and be issued a refund. I sent multiple emails but I received no response. When I called them, and after waiting an average of 20-30 minutes for a customer service representative to pick up the call, I was told that I would get a refund.

One week later, still no refund. I called again, this time to get an email confirmation that my refund was being issued. And after finally getting that email confirmation, five days later, my credit card was still not refunded.

The entire process took about a month, which is ridiculous. How difficult is it to cancel an order and issue a refund? On top of that, their "contact us" form on their website doesn't work, and their customer service representatives are clearly not professionals. For example, one of their representatives, Valerie, actually said to me, "Okay, I'm just writing down a note in your account that you want an email confirmation or whatever. "

Finally, to resolve my issue, I had to call my bank and file a dispute stating that this company is fraudulent. They are helping me resolve the situation.

Bottom line: Don't give this **, fraudulent "business" any of your money.

Great experience at HobbyTron. Their retail store is amazing.

I used to have to buy all my stuff online at HobbyTron.com. Now they have a retail store and it's amazing. You can test out a gun before you buy it and they help you with any upgrades or repairs.

My son bought an Airsoft gun. It jammed from the beginning but because it was used from the box, it's not covered. He used his graduation money to buy this crap, shame on them. He has begged me for years to get a gun and I give in only to be sold a piece of crap!

I ordered an AirSoft rifle for my son. He used his own money, a $40 purchase. The item was defective out of the box. I emailed the company, left a Live Chat message, and called them repeatedly. None of my correspondence has been answered. Totally ignored!

I went online to their website to find an FAQ as to what to do with defective merchandise. Their site lists how to get an RMA#, but conveniently, that feature on the website is non-functional. I did a search to see how many others besides myself have been ripped off by this company. I see dozens of other complaints! Why is this company not being fined or shut down for selling defective merchandise to children, no less, robbing from people with no punishment?

It's funny that I read the responses of so many people regarding their experience with Hobbytron.com that those experiences were exactly like mine! Definitely buyers beware when you are purchasing through Hobbytron.com. My son saved his money and we purchased an airsoft gun package for around $110. The gun worked fine out of the box (that automatically disqualifies you for any refund or exchange from Hobbytron! ) But the gun stopped working. We did nothing to it! My son is 10yrs old and was very responsible with this gun.

One of the guys at our airsoft arena looked at the gun and stated that it is defective and sounds like the gears are stripped. I called Hobbytron and all they could say was sorry, it worked out of the box and nothing we can do for us. They told me to email Luke, who does the repairs to see if he could do anything. Nope! He didn't even make conversation in the email, just sent me their "canned" response, sorry we cant refund or exchange. It was working out of the box! Now, I know there are dishonest people out there where they try to return a item that they damaged, but what about us honest people?

Hobbytron has horrible customer service, horrible return policy and they totally threaten you with "returning merchandise you have damaged is mail fraud" and "attempting to return items you have opened for a refund in mail fraud". Oh, and if the item you purchase is defective "out of the box" you have to deal with the manufacture! Save your money and buy from a local hobby business! We purchased a new airsoft of much nicer quality for just a little more money and if any repairs are needed, I bring it in and will only cost $25! No shipping back and fourth, no threats, just good customer service!

Hassle. I contacted my credit card company to stop payment. Did you know that your credit card will go after any merchandiser that has done you wrong? Once the credit card company withdrew payment, Hobbytron did respond. We will see how it turns out.

I ordered an airsoft rifle for my kids, one 15 and one 9. The 15-year-old's rifle worked fine, but after an hour of use, the 9-year-old's rifle started to malfunction. I contacted Hobbytron and informed them what happened. They assured me that they would handle it, had their technical support e-mail me twice and decided that the rifle was out of warranty. **? Less than one hour? What the ** kind of warranty is that? Secondly, the FPS they advertised on their website is never what is on the box; both of the rifles advertised one thing and on the box, it's clearly something else. Do not do any business with this company!

Now I have to explain to my 9-year-old that it's okay to steal people's money and there is nothing you can do about it!

I have read many of these complaints and I am sick. This company or con-artists have stolen millions of dollars and are getting away with it. I have started a petition called "Close Hobbytron For Good". Please sign this petition.

I ordered an RC Truck for my grandson, the item did not work. Spent weeks trying to get info to ship back. The customer service woman was very rude and would not issue a refund. She said I would get it repaired and back in about 3 weeks if not call them again.

If it does not work again, send back again at my expense. Very bad customer service. Do not order from this company and please do something to shut this company down.

I ordered a junior drum set from this company on December 16, 2010 or thereabouts. They took the $29 from my checking account on December 17, 2010. I have not received the drum set! Well into a month that they were late, I tried calling and emailing and a large volume of calls on queue is all I get when I call! Please help anyone, what do I do?

I ordered an AK47 FPS300 Airsoft gun on September 16, 2010. The item did not work so I called and obtained an RMA no. and the person I spoke to was very helpful. I returned the item at my cost.

I have been calling and emailing them ever since and have yet to speak to a person or receive an email. When you hold for the next available agent, it cuts you off after 20 minutes and you have to start all over again. The item cost $59.00, plus two shipping charges totaling over $20.00 (to receive and to return). I will do a little more research before I make another online purchase. Buyers beware!

A part of my order is missing from the box. They will not answer the phone and when they do, they always hang up after 23 minutes. When someone called back they yelled at me. I had to follow their guidelines but then they will not answer the phone again.

I ordered an airsoft gun and R/C helicopter for Christmas. Both were defective out of the box. I attempted to contact Hobbytron for RMA to return for replacement or refund. The RMA request was rejected by Hobbytron, stating that we do not know how to operate the items. They are a complete joke of a company with no customer service. No one will answer a phone there. I was on hold for more than (4 hours) on two separate occasions. The only thing I received was the email rejection for the RMA that says call the number, where no one answers.

I ordered an RC helicopter from Hobby Tron as a Christmas gift, paid $27 for two-day shipping and $59 for the item. It arrived on time but I received a completely different helicopter. It was used, broken, and the instruction book was to a different helicopter. I have been leaving messages for 10 days but I have had no response. So, they stole my money and won't contact me to make it right. I don't have money to replace this item. It was a gift for my husband. So now, no gift and no money. I feel used and I can't believe I let this happen.

I purchased a Dominator off-road electric RTR RC monster truck from Hobbytron's web site as a Christmas gift. I did receive it in a box before Christmas. On Christmas day, the present was opened, taken outside to play, and two wheels fell off and broke. The next day, I tried to call Hobbytron, but all i get is "leave your name and number, someone will call you back". I did this for three days, and received no call backs. This last time, I called and waited for over thirty minutes, and was told to leave a message.

I purchased a soft air gun and spent extra money to get it delivered in 2 days. I did not receive it until a week later. My son opened the gift on Christmas day and it worked manually, but had to charge battery for 14 hours before using it semi-automatically. Sunday, he was able to use it with the battery. Every time he used it, the gun jammed. We took it apart (only as much as they show on diagram) and checked for something that may be jammed.

There was nothing there. It would work for a few rounds and jam again. I called first thing on Monday. After 20 minutes on hold, it disconnects you and you can either leave a message or hang up. Since Monday, I have left 5 messages and 3 emails. It states in their policy that I would have a response in 24-72 hours. It is Thursday and still no response! I cannot send the gun back because they will not take it back unless I get an RMA # from them. I will report them to BBB.

I ordered three airsoft items for my son as Christmas gifts. When I received the shipment two of the items were wrong. I ordered a bag of black pellets and was shipped a bag of white pellets. For those that do not know, black pellets are harder to see in flight, making it harder for your opponent to see where they came from. The second item that was wrong was a face-mask. I ordered a Scott since I knew that it fit properly and that Scott makes quality products. They sent me some off-brand (World Tech Arms) made with lower quality plastic. When I called they said that the items they sent were "hand-picked by our experts to get you a fun gift in a timely manner".

This despite the fact that the items I requested were still being shown as in-stock on their website. I received no contact from them regarding the replacement before the items were shipped. When I called they said that since the items they sent were comparable to what I ordered I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I am now stuck with white pellets. He can use them but not exactly what he wanted. As well as a face-mask that will not fit him right. I had to go to another local store and pick up the Scott face-mask. I will never order from them again!

Ordered a remote control helicopter for $129 and it absolutely is unoperable. The manual provided is insufficiently equipped to troubleshoot any problem. The information supplied is definitely written by someone whose second language is English. So if one speaks English, it is not clearly written or deciphered. No help available on chat or by phone.

7/3/2008 purchased an RC Helicopter, Electric Helicopter Shogun, and UTG Sniper Rifle Acccushot. Cost $898.19. I returned all items with an RMA received by Hobbytron. Shipped via UPS. I have packing slips and copies of the items being accepted by B. ** at Hobbytron. As of today 12/9/2010 I have not received my refund. I wrote to the Attorney General of California and Hobbytron responded to the AG's complaint but not to me nor did Hobbytron try to resolve the situation. First Hobbytron responded they didn't receive the returned items. Then said the items were damaged. They were received (I have proof) and they were not damaged. Items were not taken out of the boxes and returned within 1 week of receiving them. Stay away from Hobbytron. They are thieves and the business is a rip off.

I ordered 2 airsoft guns. One came in broken and missing parts. The box had obviously been opened and repacked. Nothing was in the plastic bags like it should be. The merchandise is obviously black market with many misspellings on the box, no manufacturer's name, and inferior quality even for a low priced item. I filled out the request for an RMA and admitted that I removed 2 screws from the broken slide forearm. They denied the RMA on grounds I had tried to repair the item. I tried emailing but their system is setup to recognize you by the order number and they wouldn't let me continue the email. Of course, replying to the RMA request was undeliverable.

I got on Live Chat with Nicole, told her that they had me on a technicality with the attempt at repair, but I would not accept the missing parts and I wanted the parts or the money value for them. I pointed out that missing parts are not a warranty issue and the attempt at repair didn't apply. She claimed the parts were not included and were accessories. I pointed out that they are clearly listed on their website and on the box as included items and sent her the link for the Web page of the item. Also, the one item was included, the "Faux Red Dot Sight" but didn't have any lenses, no power switch, no contacts in the battery compartment or any guts that I could see. I did not disassemble it. I pointed this out to Nicole and she said she was sorry but there was nothing she could do and ended the chat session.

I entered Live Chat again and waited 20 minutes for Valerie to answer. I told her the whole story again and that I wanted the parts or money back. She said they didn't have any parts and couldn't send them and that the warranty was void because of the attempt at repair. I pointed out again that missing items are not a warranty issue. She said there was nothing she could do, but she could email me coupons. I told her to not bother as I or anyone I know will never buy anything from them again. She ended the chat. I printed the transcripts from both chats and will scan and post them here if anyone would like to see them. Their chat window won't let you copy and paste, but it will let you print.

I purchased two RC cars from them during the first week of November 2010. I opened boxes to see if they worked. Both cars had steering problems and ran sluggishly and erratic, even with brand new batteries. I boxed them back up and emailed HobbyTron for an RMA #. I received a reply that since we had obviously opened the boxes and played with them, that no return could be made. It was only returnable if the defect was apparent before opening the box. How do they expect you to know that you have a defective product before opening the box? Their return policy is extremely offensive--stating in writing that if you ship back a product to them that was damaged by you (no mention of what if the damage is by them), that they can prosecute for mail fraud. Also, if you have your credit card company issue a charge back, it will incur a $50 administration fee from HobbyTron per charge back.

I ordered from them, received partial shipment with no explanation (i.e. back order, approximate date expected to ship, etc. ). Also, I received item with missing part, which was obviously slapped together in haste. No Q.C. verification, unprofessional quality at best! I emailed to have substitute for stock item but no response.

I asked "Valerie" how many millimeters apart the RIS rails were on an airsoft gun. She said they didn't have that information, so I replied by asking, "You have all these air softguns, but know nothing about them right?" And she never replied.

I ordered a R.C. tank, it came about 6 days late. Well, that really didn't bother me but when i opened the box, the tank was missing some parts that were attached to the tank from the manufacturer not just that either, while in shipping! The box was really thrown around because the tank was damaged in side. The too lights on the front of the tank were broken off. The radio for the tank doesn't work right either! I figured it would be a waste of time to try to call them on it.

My 11 year old son recently purchased an air soft gun from hobbytron.com. The gun broke within 24 hours with normal use. I followed the return instructions and submitted an RMA as instructed. I was told that my request was denied because I attempted to repair the item by disassembling the gun and that this violates their policy and voids any warranty. I escalated with Customer service, the CS rep simply told me their policy and there was nothing that could be done, I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor (April I think), told me repeatedly the same thing and there was nothing that could be done, eventually she hung up on me. So much for customer service. I now have a very unhappy son who spent his own money to buy something from a very poor online firm.

I bought a $200 airsoft gun for my son. I missed the 30 day deadline to send it back. I find their return policy very threatening. They will have you charged with mail fraud and be subject to prosecution. I cannot find any manufacturer information online. I'm waiting for a response from Hobbytron but from reading the other complaints, I'm not too hopeful.

Purchased two RC Helicopters from Hobby Tron. One was missing parts and the other caught fire after charging battery. Emailed and received RMA # and then the trail went cold. I paid with credit card and return shipping, promised a refund in a few weeks nothing, no refund, no more emails, no one ever answers the phone. Total Rip off. Do not buy from this company. They know that most CC have a 90 day grace period and you that to rip you off. I have lost $141.35 and the cost of return shipping cost. When will someone do something to help the consumer.

I ordered on August 5, 2010. It was on backorder for one and a half month and when I received their crappy product, it was all broken. To top it off, it wasn't even the product I ordered or even close to it. You cannot contact them, I emailed them 10 times, 1 fax and 1 letter. I left 2 phone messages to be called back and never received a call from them nor can you get past the constant busy signal. Finally, I called the credit card company to issue a dispute. They still advertise the model I wanted on their website. I don't know why they couldn't send that to me. I'm very, very disappointed with this merchant.

As you can see, I should have done more research on this company before I bought anything. Now that I am doing it, here's what I found just by reviewing their policies: Hobbytron.com guarantees that you will get a new working product(s) or you can return the product(s) for repair or replacement. Color, frequency and packaging may vary. Occasionally, items run out or are discontinued from a specific manufacturer. We reserve the right to send items of equivalent function in order to fill your order in a timely manner. Wow, if they don't have the item, they ship you something else! Isn't that great? So in theory, if you order a $200 airplane from them, they could replace that with a folded paper airplane instead because it has the equivalent function? They both fly, right?

In some cases such as during the rush before Christmas, we reserve the right to upgrade your order to an item(s) that is completely different but that is lots of fun handpicked by our experts to get you a fun gift in a timely manner. If you are unhappy with the exchanged or upgraded item, you can return it unopened per the usual policies. Completely different but lots of fun? What the heck does that mean? What do they consider upgrading? I ordered an $80 gun, they shipped me a $30 equivalent. Do not buy from hobbytron.com. Please everyone, listen to me. It's not worth it! Our children do not deserve the products and service this company has to offer!

Do not buy from hobbytron.com. Please, everyone, listen to me: it's not worth it! Everyone, please go to **. File a complaint. They will help you, trust me. Everyone do this! Our children do not deserve the products and service this company has to offer!

I lost my money. They're basically fraud. The children were very sad and cried so much about it. The list just goes on and on. This is not the way to run a business.

I paid over $100 to these people for a new airsoft gun. I received a used airsoft gun with missing parts. The parts it did come with were in "Sandwich Baggies". Do not let them rip you off. This gift was for my son's birthday. I was not able to give him his gift because of this company's horrible service.

I had recently ordered 2 scott voltage paint ball masks from Hobbytron.com which were $24.95 per mask plus tax and shipping. When they arrived, they were two scott vectra masks which is a totally different mask. The voltage has a dual pane thermal lens and the vectra has a single pane non thermal lens. Bottom line is the voltage protects your eyes better being it has two lenses.

When I called and emailed Hobbytron and spoke with Nicole, she informed me that their policy states if they are out of an item, they can send a suitable replacement. I would have no problem with this but the single lens is not a suitable replacement. This is my eyesight and people's safety they are fooling with. I never received an email giving me another option or telling me they didn't have what I ordered. And the topper is that their suitable replacement costs $21.50 per mask and I was charged $24.95 per mask (in my eyes that is just stealing and very wrong). And she told me there was nothing they could do for me. I have read several complaints from people saying the exact same thing. Hobby Tron.com is a bunch of crooks.

I purchased an item for my 11 year-old son only to have the incorrect item shipped. Despite my endless attempts to resolve the matter including many voice mails and e-mails, the company notified me that they could not replace the item as it was out of the warranty period. Obviously, this is not a warranty issue as I did not receive the item ordered and paid for. A supervisor by the name of Nicole, abruptly ended our ''Live Chat'' by stating that, "this matter is closed and I cannot help you." This type of unreliable delivery, lack of Customer Service and disregard for the customer has prompted my posting with the hopes that other consumers will not be defrauded, disappointed and deceived.

My son purchased an air-soft gun with his own money. Cost $75.00. It took quite awhile for it to arrive and when it did, it did not work. I tried the phone number many, many times, but nobody ever calls you back. On live chat, a person named Valerie acted as if it was my fault that it did not work , but finally gave me an RMA number and I mailed it back to the place they told me and that was on letter and spent another $20.00. I mailed it on August 25th and it is now Sept. 21 and the first place it went to said undeliverable and now it went to another place which said refused. This is a horrible business place. Never order from this site.

My son ordered a $40 RC boat. After waiting an excessive number of days for it to finally arrive, it did not match the product description in any way and barely chugged along in the water. After e-mailing them and getting an RMA number I shipped it back. 8 weeks later I had to pay once again to pick up a box from the post office that I thought would contain an exchange for a different boat. No, it turned out that the boat I tried to return was refused.

So, after spending $75 I now still have a boat that barely works at all. I did try talking with someone in customer service but calling it customer service is a joke! Others are right when they say that the person on the phone will do everything to make you feel as if you are in the wrong. Never purchase an item from this site!

I purchased an airsoft gun from Hobbytron for my son and and it worked for one hour but then it stopped working. I emailed the company but they said there was nothing they could do for me because I took it out of the box. If I knew it was defective, I wouldn't have bought it. Then I called their customer support line but always got an answering machine telling me that my call was important to them. I called them four times and never talked to anyone or received a call back. It seems my call wasn't very important to them. This is the most uncooperative site I have ever dealt with! Do not order anything from this site, it is very unreliable!

I ordered 10 of their WW II Replica M-3 Grease gun spring action airsoft guns. When I received the order, none of them had the adjustable stock that was in the picture on the website. There was a place for the adjustable stock in the packaging, and the box had directions on how to adjust the stock, but no stock! The website did not say that it came without an adjustable stock. When I called customer service, she said the site said it came with BBS, sling, and safety glasses. It didn't say that it came with the adjustable stock. I said it didn't say that it came with a barrel or magazine either. She said, "Well, that's obvious." If the item is not as pictured then the proper thing to do is state this on the site. She blamed the problem on differences in packaging, which she said is acceptable. My opinion is do not deal with Hobbytron.com for anything. They are unreliable, misleading, and do not stand behind the products that they sell.

Purchased 4 items totaling $898.19 on 7/3/2008. All items returned with RMA# 7/22/2008. To this date, I have not received my refund. I sent letters to CA Attorney General's Office for help. Hobbytron's response is "we already refunded $640.00", but cannot provide any verification. They ignore my calls, e-mails, and letters. They literally ripped me off. They got the entire order returned, and they kept the money. My son's credit card had to go into default, because of Hobbytron not issuing the refund. My son's credit was negatively affected.

We ordered a remote control helicopter for our son's birthday. They sent a helicopter that was different than the one we ordered. They had a note in the package saying that they were out of stock on the one we ordered and they were sending a comparable replacement. They did not notify us in advance to give us the option of (i) canceling the order, (ii) waiting for the one we ordered to be available or (iii) accepting their recommendation of the "comparable" replacement.

We don't believe the replacement is comparable. It requires more batteries, had fewer replacement parts and was about 20% less expensive. They didn't credit us the difference in cost. I assume they think they can send an inferior and less expensive product and keep the cost difference. We decided we wanted to get another helicopter they showed on their website that we believed was more comparable and was the same price. My wife tried calling them several times and was only able to leave voicemail messages which have not been returned. She also emailed but has not received a response to that either.

It was shipped defective and the customer service department will not take the item back because it was opened. How do you test an item if you cannot open it? There are hundreds of com[plaints regarding HobbyTron via the web.

Hobbytron does not inform you that processing an order will take up to 1 week, adding days to your expected arrival time and choice of shipping. My product seemed delayed after 3 days and no notification of shipment, and when I checked on it, I found that it was still in processing. I was told via email that I couldn't cancel it or change my shipping preferences. The RC boats I ordered were mine even tho they were still on Hobbytron's shelf. Really.

I purchased 2 replacements at local retail (best decision I made) and expected to return the boats for a refund. I just found out that shipping, packaging and restocking fees are more than the $150. paid for the 2 boats. Hobbytron gets a poor grade from me. I couldn't cancel my order and now I can't send them back! I have $150 in RC Boats (brand-new) that I should have been able to cancel before they left the warehouse.

My son ordered an airsoft gun from Hobbytron. The magazine clip won't stay engaged (out of the box) and the semi-automatic setting works sporadically. We tried to report the issue but the customer service number is defunct, you only get a busy signal. We discovered how to fill out a return authorization online. Hobbytron rejected our request saying, "the gun is used". This argument is silly in light of the website's published 30-day return policy on defective items. I'd like to sue them but I'm pretty sure "them" is a few pointy-headed geeks with no official address or citizenship. Spread the word about Hobbytron!

I purchased an RC boat for my grandson in June 2010. When I received it, it did not work properly. I tried to call Hobbytron, but no one answers the phone. So I filled out an RMA form and sent that in. When I received the new boat, it only worked for about 2 hours. So I sent in another RMA form.

On August 3, I received an email telling me they will not send a replacement, because it was used. It was used for a total of about 2 hours on and off through the day. The boat may not have been defective out of the box, but it was not built correctly to only last a few hours.

For my son's birthday, he wanted an electric Airsoft gun. I ordered on June 22, 2010, and I got it on July 2, 2010. The gun wouldn't work, so we charged the battery for about 5 hours. I tried it again; the gun still did the same thing. So I emailed HobbyTron and was told, "It's your fault; you overcharged battery. Only charge for 2 hours. Bye."

So even how crazy that sounds, I bought a new name brand battery, and It still doesn't work. Who's fault is that? There's no response back, because I've already been denied. Warning: F rating from BBB. They are not consumer-friendly. We're not out of hundreds of dollars, but we could have used $68 somewhere else.

My son ordered an Airsoft spring sniper rifle. The item was shipped defective. My son sent several emails to the web address for customer service and no one ever replied to him. When I finally found another address and filled out the forms, they sent an email to my son that it had been over 30 days and they couldn't do anything about it. I sent another email asking why no one ever replied to his customer service emails and of course, they didn't reply. We could never get through on the phone number listed. I just went back to the website and can't find a mailing address or phone number now. Nothing is listed on the invoice they sent out. My son is out $68.30 with an item that will never work because it was broken to begin with.

My sons ordered two expensive electric airsoft guns for a total of $399.90. They had earned the money and so I allowed what seemed an extravagance. The guns were supposed to be close replicas of Vietnam era M16s and were to have steel stocks, but they had plastic. They were also supposed to have detachable carrying handles, but did not. Also, they were advertised as having a heavy-duty metal gearbox that was supposed to be much stronger than the plastic gearboxes many guns have.

One gun quit working within days, and I've had the same experience many others have had as far as Hobbytron not answering their phone and not returning calls after leaving messages by email and answering machine. Do not buy anything from Hobbytron! The unfortunate truth is that much of the shopping for the kinds of toys this company sells is done by kids, with the parents coming into the process late to provide credit card info. I hope that this will at least be lesson to my kids: buyer beware.

We ordered a total of four airsoft guns. Upon arrival there was only one of them in the box. It took forever to get through their customer service. I left two messages that were never returned, and when I went online for assistance that message told me I needed to call!

After finally getting through to a rep she said she'd have to call me back because she had to verify info with the warehouse. She called me back and said they weighed the box and they agreed the items were not in there, so they reshipped. (Also the gun broke within five minutes of my son using it.) So, the reshipment arrived, still missing one $3.50 airsoft pistol. I called again and the rep told me she would call me back in an hour. She did not. So, I called again and she told me she hasn't talked to the warehouse manager yet and would call me back. She did, within 15 minutes, but told me they re-weighed the items we ordered and it weighed the same as what our reship went out at, so the gun had to have been in the box so unfortunately there was nothing they could do. I told them it is a $3.50 gun.

I am not lying about missing an item, let alone that it's $3.50. If I was trying to rip them off I'd say my boys didn't get their $19.99 gun. My son paid for this gun out of his allowance, and I want the gun shipped for him. She repeated there was nothing they can do because it had to be in the box. I said I wanted to speak to a manager. She put me on hold and when she came back she said she told the manager what was going on and the manager agreed there was nothing they could do. I said I want my money back. (Meanwhile the other two guns that arrived had already broken.) I told her they screwed my order up twice, the products broke, and they need to get their ** together. Right then the manager came on the line and said they would credit me the money. I have yet to see it on my statement. Don't order from this company!

Hobbytron is a scam. I ordered an RC helicopter and was assured that it would be shipped by 2-day mail. When it did not show up, I contacted the company and was told that there was a mix up and it would be shipped out right away. I called 4 days later when it did not show up and they told me that it was backordered and hung up on me. They debited my account and still have not returned my money.

HobbyTron is a scam. Normally, when you buy something online, you can always return it if you want. You don't even need a reason. HobbyTron will not take a return that has been opened. Our air soft gun was missing a scope. How do you know something is even missing until you open the box? It is a rip-off. The customer service is non existent. No one answers their phone, it goes to voice mail. I returned the gun and have heard nothing from them. There should be some way to put this company out of business. I called my credit card company and they refunded my charge and will dispute this with HobbyTron for me. I don't know what else to do.

I purchased two inexpensive spring airsoft pistols in December 2009. They started to jam after a couple of weeks and then completely broke. I did not do anything because they were under $20 each. I just purchased a $150 electric sniper rifle (against my better judgement). We received it, opened and charged it. It does not work. I called Hobbytron and they told me to fill out the RMA form online, which I did.

A week later, they sent an email of a company "Leapers" that I needed to contact for resolution. I called them twice and left messages. About two weeks later, I finally got someone that said they would try to "fix" the gun. I was not satisfied with that answer and wanted a refund which they told me I had to call Hobbytron for. I called back and got answering machine but I kept hitting 0 and I finally got someone only to be told that I had to go through the other company. They then put me through to Nicole who said they do not refund if a product is opened and that for any other resolution I had to deal with Leapers. She then hung up on me.

I purchased three items, an RC car, boat, and helicopter from Hobbytron. A week went by and no delivery. I emailed them and left a message. I got nothing. I finally checked the status of my order and see that I can chat with someone. I get Nichole. She says it will take 2 or 3 days for my order to ship. I told her if it had not shipped by that Friday I was calling the bank. Two days later I got an email saying my order shipped. That Saturday I got one package in the mail. It was the helicopter and it was broken.

I still have not seen the other two items I ordered. I have tried over and over to get someone on the phone, nothing doing! I have left messages and emails, nothing doing! I have yet to get a response. When you go to the website you see that the chat icon says offline! Customer service is not done this way. They are straight robbing people. They said if your item is on back order or if they need to change an item, you will get an email. Have not seen that yet.

I ordered for a 12-inch R/C car but got a 22-inch one which was also defective. I wanted to take this car to my nephew in India and this 22-inch' car will not fit in my baggage; moreover, what's the point in carrying a defective piece? I called them and asked if I can get a refund but they told me that they have the rights to send a different model by their policy, and as the packing is opened I cannot get my money back but only a replacement or a store card for the defective piece.

Doesn't it mean that the customer cannot get a refund on defective pieces at all? Only after opening the box anyone will have a chance to know if the piece is defective or not. They just have the same answer for all questions, "It's in our policy. Blah, blah, blah." I don't think even 1% of the customers would read the policy before purchasing the product. At least I didn't and I had to pay for it. Is there anyway to create an online campaign against this website and close their business? I am new to this country and not sure if something exists. I lost my $35. Great disappointment to the two-year old kid who is excitingly waiting for his uncle to bring his first R/C car from America. I couldn't purchase a new car as my flight was on the same day as I received the package.

My 13 year old son saw an airsoft gun that he liked on the internet and wanted to use his birthday money that he just got to purchase this gun. The gun was about 80 bucks and shipping was an additional 30 bucks because he was so anxious to receive it. He paid for the express shipping of which we were told that we would receive within 2-3 days. I placed the order for him and when the third day came around, my son was asking if the package had arrived and I told him "no not yet". So we proceeded to wait another 3 days and still no packaged delivered to our door. I finally called Hobbytron to check on the status and I was told that the shipping would take 2-3 days after they pulled the order (which took at least 5 days). So whatever, the gun finally arrives and my son is so excited as this was his very first airsoft gun that he purchased on his own. Well his happiness did not last very long when he figured out that something was wrong with the gun as it could not take the bullets it would always jam, therefore not able to use his airsoft gun.

Thought he wasn't doing something right so it took him 2 days to troubleshoot it and could not figure it out and than asked me if I could contact Hobbytron to see if he can get a refund. I called but was unsuccessful in reaching them. I called their office at 10:00 am Hawaii time and the answering machine came on and said that they were closed and call back on regular business hours. Who the heck closes their store at 12 in the afternoon? I finally get a hold of them and was told that we could not get a refund. Our only option was a store credit or item replacement.

So again, whatever what can we do. So I spent another 20 bucks shipping the defected item back to them. I gave it a week before I would hear back from them and of course I did not get a response. Several days after that, I called Hobbytron and was told that the item was received, however they did not get a chance to diagnose the item and therefore could not give me an answer as to whether or not they were going to fix it, replace it, or give us a store credit. I asked them how long would it take for them before they had a chance to look at our defected item and they said not sure give us a couple of weeks. Wow! This is some kind of customer service don't you think?

Finally got an email from them stating that they will only give my son a store credit of $80. I see that there are a ton of complaints on Hobbytron with customers experiencing the same dilemma we are going through. If I had known that Hobbytron does not back up their items with a money back guarantee, I would not have ordered from them. Shame on Hobbytron for taking advantage of a 13 year old boy who had spent all of his money on a defective gun purchased from your business. I would like to tell anyone out there who is meddling with the idea on whether or not they should do business with Hobbytron and I would say to them "Don't do it!".

I ordered a Scott Voltapex Airsoft mask and I received vforce mask instead. I complained via online chat (Nicole) and they said that their policy state that if they don't have the specific item that you ordered they can replace it with the another almost similar item without giving you a notice or email if you want the replacement or not.

I ordered an airsoft gun for my son's birthday which was right after Christmas. It never worked and was returned as requested in all original packing. I have been waiting now for three months for the credit. I now have called online to check and have been advised that they are only issuing a store credit. I do not wish to order anything else from this store. Why should I, and get another item that does not work? I would like refund directly to my credit card. I am already out the shipping and return shipping for this item.

I ordered the F-150 for $55 back in December and it was defective. I paid $20 to return ship it for an exchange and received another defective product. They will not reimburse or refund the money. If I want to exchange again, they still want me to pay for the return shipping. They will not refund my money at all since I opened the product. How can someone tell if it is a defective product if you can't open the box?

The website is a scam. I warn anyone from ordering from them, they do not care about the products or the customer. Even if I hadn't open the product and they were to refund me my money, I would have to still pay for return shipping, ridiculous.

I ordered an RC helicopter for my husband's birthday. The order arrived broken, and the company promised a refund. After I shipped the item back, they refused to offer me the refund and instead issued a store credit minus the cost of shipping, not the full refund as promised. After arguing with them many times about the promised refund, I was informed that not only would I not get the refund, but now, my credit was expired. All of the so-called "customer service" representatives were rude and incompetent. I was even hung up on a few times. I was robbed of $50 by this company.

I bought 3 items for my son. None worked and one caught fire. They didn't care. It appears they are knowingly selling defective merchandise.

There's no response after repeated attempts via email and phone. Item shipped was not complete and missing parts that were advertised online.

I ordered 5 items from HobbyTron.com in November 17, 2009. The items were shipped in a reasonable amount of time, but when taken out of the shipping box to wrap for my son as separate Christmas gifts, we found certain pieces to attach parts to the Airsoft guns were not included, and the Airsoft pistol would not cock. I am glad I checked the items before I actually gave them to him. Imagine the disappointment of getting a new Christmas gift, and you cannot even play with it.

I have tried several times by email and phone, and no one will acknowledge you. I have been contacted once by email to call the 818-675-9000 number, and they answered and hung up. And then, it goes to voice mail after that. I would like a refund on these items. I left another message today by email and phone, and I told them if I were not contacted within 24 hours, I will be asking PayPal to revoke payment. I then found this site and decided I should complain about this company which seems to be ripping off a lot of innocent hardworking people. Can you help? Thank you so much for your time.

We ordered airsoft guns for Christmas in the beginning of November. We received an email mid-November stating that two were not available. We called five times and sent five emails to notify the company of the replacement items we would like. It took 10 days to reach them - they never called or returned our emails. When we finally reached a living, breathing person, she listened to the issue and left me on hold for 18 minutes. I called back and her "associate" put me on hold again and they never returned to the phone - we remained on hold for 30 mins before hanging up.

We then called back ten times over the course of an hour and the answering machine picked up each time. For three days we left messages with no return call. Finally, I sent a not so nice email requesting a refund and they sent me an email stating the order would be sent (this was the Monday before Christmas). We never received the items. Today, 12/29/09, I sent an email asking for a tracking number, which I had requested twice previously. I just received a note from FEDEX, not from Hobbytron - that said they "initiated" shipment today. It has not even been picked up from the store yet.

So much for planning early. Now we have a son who did not receive his Christmas presents and no way to get a refund b/c they won't return calls or emails.

I ordered a $275 remote control airplane (with Fedex 2 day delivery) from HobbyTron for my brother who was recovering from cancer surgery.

HobbyTron immediately whacked my Amex card for the entire amount plus shipping, and never sent the product. Phone calls and emails were not answered. How is it that these crooks are still ripping people off w/o consequences?

Stay away from Hobbytron.com. Read what others have to say. I wish I had. My son ordered an air soft gun from this company. It did not work. Their cumbersome on-line customer service process treats the customer like they did something wrong. The product arrived defective. The company's response was to contact the manufacturer, which I did. The mfg said the product was discontinued, and not covered by warranty. I informed hobbytron.com of this, and the dullard of a customer service response was tough.

This is a fraudulent company. Where is the California better business bureau? Where is the postal service. The company should not be in business. The people who work their can't shower enough to wash away the grime of this company. But, don't just listen to this post. Read what others have to say. It is widely regarded as a dishonest company. Do yourself a favor: buy from someplace else.

My son ordered an airsoft gun. It was defective & I returned asking for a refund & for s/h to be refunded. The next week a package arrives from Fedex. I didnt open it & sent it back. I then called them & I was told I wasnt elgible for a refund because I opened the package. I asked her how was I to know the gun was defective if I didnt open the package.

I also told her I did not ask for another gun :& had not rec'd an email from them. In the meantime my son bought another gun. She refused to refund me for the gun & so I am out $81. I would never order anything from this company. A complete ripoff & the worse merchandise.

Started the order process in July. The order arrived and immediately broke. After countless attempts to contact someone, finally just sent an RMA to exchange the item. No word on the status.

No way to contact a person, emails and phone message left unanswered. Would never do business with them again. $30 is shipping for the return.

i bought a rifle airsoft gun for my son,and when we got it and we tried to use it the spring that holds the pellets GO, came out and broke. now ive made several email complaints and want to ship it back and get an exchange. but NO ONE WILL CALL OR EMAIL ME BACK.. THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP OFF AND SCAMMERS.. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.. NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONES OR RESOND TO EMAILS....IM REPORTING THEM TO BBB

My son was supposed to receive an airsoft rifle with free pistol. The products have not arrived. I am furious that I can't get in touch with them. I suspect they are a scam operation. Please do not do business with them. Hobbytron is evil.

Nobody will answer the phone or respond via email. I wish I had never done business with them.

I purchased a remote control helicopter for my son last Christmas. As I was trying it out for the 1st time(per the instructions).it acted in a faulty and dangerous way, clearly defective. For 3 months I called and emailed.multiple times.nothing from the company. I then notified the better Business Bureau..the company told them that they have me a return number, which is a flat out lie. I sent the helicopter back..nothing for 2 more months..called the BBB again! The company said they sent me something for instore credit(another blatant lie!). So I just got off the phone now with Nicole from Hobbytron's customer service. She told me that I have a credit of 23 dollars. I paid a total of $139.89..she said that was policy..20% of the original cost. After 5 minutes of me explaining my case..and why that policy was just plain wrong,,well..thats why I am here. Tp let as many peopl know to NOT GO TO HOBBYTRON.COM FOR ANY PURCHASE. Buy from a store to where you can take a product back if you have to.

We ordered two airsoft guns. One malfunctioned immediately. I asked to return it or exchange it and they said no, "we can't cover it because it has been played with." They are selling defective merchandise and taking people's money.

I ordered an Rc Boat. When it arrived the boat won't work. send boat back no answer lost $70.00. I used a money order. Please do not order from this company.

My wife ordered an airsoft gun from Hobbytron for our son. The gun was a replica AK-47. After a week and a half, we received the gun and what a piece of garbage! The gun cost $17.95 and was supposedly marked down from $40. I can tell you for certain that nobody would pay more than $5 for this item if they had an opportunity to look at it first. It is your typical cheapo Chinese $1 toy that is sold in the dollar stores. Absolute garbage!

I think these people are guilty of false advertising at a minimum and overcharging for shipping. The website shows that the magazine on the gun can hold 200 BBs which is incorrect, you can barely shove in 15. They list an "original" price of $40 which is as accurate as selling a stick of gum at an original price of $40. Then the $11.45 shipping charge for an item that weighed 1.9lbs including all packaging, seems very high.

Being furious about the garbage I received I decided to see what could be done since we were out $30 and a piece of garbage toy that our son was extremely upset about. That's when I cam across the return policy that only allows the return of items that are unopened. You cannot even see the gun until you open the box. Then I did an online search and came across all the complaints about hobbytron. Boy, do I wish my wife would have done some searching for reviews initially! So after reading how hobbytron basically sells garbage and takes no responsibility for what they sell, I'm just going to chalk it up as a learning experience.

i order a boat from hobbtron, i email and caled them to tell what i want in particular boat. i want with one propeller NOT dual propeller..when i received the package, wow not the right one and some parts are broken and its a piece of junk..its worse than buying from the swap meet. i wrote them an email..so, i dont know whats next to this..i will try to call them and let you guys know..thank..remember think twice before you order from hobbytron..

I purchased an airsoft electric gun for my son. He used it once, then it wouldn't work for some unknown reason - less than one week old. I emailed Hobbytron for store credit to put toward another purchase. But no, they only accept unopened items! They didn't offer any solution to fix it either - from them or the manufacturer! I am still fighting with them. I will not purchase from them again - very poor customer service.

I had a fraudulent charge to my credit card for a purchase at Hobbytron.com. I have made many attempts via email and telephone to contact their customer service department or anyone else. Each time, I am met with "all our customer service representatives are busy, please try your call later". I have left many voicemails and emails to no avail. I have tried everything I can think to stop the transaction from continuing, but nothing has happened. Luckily, my credit card company has policies and procedures to combat fraudulent credit card purchases. On this front, I am protected. On Hobbytron's customer service, this is unacceptable.

After reading many of the other complaints, I can only reinforce the common issue: No return messages, no return emails. It appears that Hobbytron is but a business that accepts money and has no accountability whatsoever beyond that. I must agree with my complaint colleagues. How can this business remain in business?

We ordered an RC truck for my son on June 4. My credit card was charged on June 5, and we still haven't received the car. As stated in many complaints that I just read, they will not answer their phone. And I have called plenty of times. I emailed them and told them to cancel everything, and Nicole emailed back that the truck would ship tomorrow and that she just needed me to verify my address. I did that, and we still haven't received anything. Do not buy from the bogus company. Currently, I am out approximately $350.00. My son was so disappointed.

I ordered an RC boat for my husband from this website - biggest waste ever. I paid almost 40 dollars for overnight shipping so it would be here before Father's Day. When it arrived, the shipping box was a little damaged but the inside looked to be okay. So I really didn't give it too much importance. Well, I planned a whole pick nick by the lake and everything so that I could give him his boat while we were there. Well, as you can imagine from all the other complaints, the boat didn't work and a propeller was broken off! So my husband's Father's Day was ruined. Then I emailed them and I got a response that not to worry about shipping back the boat, but they were simply going to send me a new one. I thought, well, isn't that really nice?

A couple of days later, I received a package from them. When I opened it, it's a cheap RC airplane that seems to have been previously used. I was infuriated, so I kept emailing and calling and by now you should have figured out that they don't ever answer their phone. So I finally got someone on their live chat thing and I was told that they didn't know what they had sent me but that my real order was shipping out no later than today and that I should receive it overnight. That was 2 weeks ago, so please do not pay your money to this company. You will get a crappy product - if you even get a product. There is never any customer service to help you should there be a problem. I paid about 70 dollars in total for everything. I might as well have took it and flushed it down the toilet!

This is about HobbyTron's Poor customer service. I ordered several items but they all broke within days. One of the items, which I ordered in April, was never received. I bet it is a business run out of someone's garage. Close this business down as it is a rip-off. My son was disappointed that he never received his item and disappointed that the other items broke within days.

On June 13th 2009, I ordered a High Wind 30" radio controlled speed boat. On Monday the 15th, I called customer service and left a message to have someone call before shipping as I had some questions. No one returned my call. Tuesday, I followed up with an e-mail stating the same thing. Again, I had no response. Today, I sent another e-mail stating this is very poor customer service and if no one called me back today, I would refuse the merchandise because they're obviously a reputable company. No response again. After going online to see if anyone else was experiencing this, I read complaint after complaint for the same problems. The law needs to get involved here. Their website states, "Please no walk-ins. They are an online company only." My bet is this address is bogus. Please take immediate action to get all of us unsuspecting consumers their money back and haul these thieves off to prison. I am unemployed and my daughter and I went in together to purchase this gift for Father's Day. Now I am sure we have been scammed along with countless others.

On May 31, 2009, I ordered a couple of electronics kits from Hobbytron. The order was "flagged" because of a different address for my credit card than what was given by me online. I recently moved, so I thought their request to call before they shipped the order was reasonable. Unfortunately, no one answers their phone. And no one answers their emails.

As we could not connect to come to terms on this order, I canceled the order via email on 6/4/09. Hobbytron's response was to immediately ship the order. My card had already been charged, as of 6/01/09! After numerous attempts to call, email, and snail mail this company to discuss the matter, still I have had no response. I have refused delivery by UPS and have filed a dispute with Visa. Beware everyone! This company is bad news. It's best to find another source for your toys.

Hobbytron is not a reliable or customer friendly outfit! Beware. No one answers their phone. I ordered some airsoft guns for my son on or before 5/25/09 via their online website. Though their site indicated I would receive free shipping (with promo code) and shipping in 3-5 business days, I received neither. As of 6/8/09, I am still waiting for my order. Unfortunately, my son needed it before he left today. I tried to contact them numerous times about the delay in shipping and to possibly cancel my order and receive reimbursement for shipping charges. They (Nicole) responded with short answers and excuses (3-5 days actually means a little longer and they make take a week or more to actually ship it out), but no refund of shipping. I have subsequently read online that sometimes Hobbytron charges a hefty fee for returns on your credit card. So stay tuned. I also read that this outfit filed bankruptcy and then bought back its own stock at bargain basement prices under a different name. Why isn't this company out of business? Is there a class action against them?

Wow, after reading all the complaints, I guess mine is the same old story. Hobbytron has a great website. We found the airsoft rifle we wanted from a YouTube advertisement. It look like great fun. It was a birthday gift for our son. We ordered it on the 20th with the 3-5 days shipping it would be here in time. Well, his birthday came and went with no present. I tried tracking it and it said still processing. I started calling every day and left messages. I started emailing and same reply "order ship in 3-5 days..." They never answer your questions on the phone. Today, I called their phone 35 times and never get a live person, just the same message. I called my bank today and I am disputing the credit charge. I emailed them back and told them to cancel the order. My question is how is this company still in business?

I ordered an electric airplane and it arrived in reasonable time, but appeared to have been damaged in the post office shipping. But on opening the package, the product appeared to be used and was broken. After receiving no answer to my email complaint, I read this complaint blog and realized I wasn't the only consumer taken in by this unscrupulous internet thievery. I made the most of this previously wrecked plane and with a lot of glue am getting it to fly.

BUYER BEWARE.

I place my order in December 2008 for a r/c helicopter. Hobbytron.com charged my card immediately despite the fact that they took 3 weeks to ship the product (which was delivered on 1/7/09). The product advertised and the one that was received were either not the same product or they lied with regards to the flight time and charge time of the product. An RMA was requested on 1/8/09 and it took another week to receive one. The product was returned immediately through Federal Express.

We tried contacting Hobbytron.com numerous times by way of both email and telephone, but were not able to get through and did not receive an email response until 3/2/09. That email stated that we had a store credit, but that it could only be used via telephone through a customer service rep. Unfortunately, since Hobbytron.com's customer service reps never answer the phone, the "store credit" is worthless.

I ordered 2 RC infrared battle tanks April 24th 2009. Rec'd one battle tank on May 1st. I figured UPS must have forgotten one of the two packages. I waited until monday and tuesday and nothing from UPS. Even saw them drive pass the house. Never stopped. So I tried calling hobbytron. First time I called Some one said, "Please hold". I waited 5 minutes and it went to voice mail. Thats when all the fun calling started. I called again. The next day I called and left a message.

I emailed, Called, Left a message, emailed again, then left a BBB report threat on the voice mail. NO ONE CALLED ME OR EMAILED ME on my missing battle tank. It was about 2 weeks later, I happened to dial the number again and I actually got someone. I told her the situation and she put me on hold for about 8 mins. I wasnt haning up. She came back on the line and told me she would ship out the missing tank. About 2 weeks later.. it finally arrived. I trsted them both and they worked.. I would ADVOID buying anything from this company. T

My son purchased an Air Soft rifle from HobbyTron.
The Rifle arrived on time but had internal damage.
We emailed Hobbytron several times with no responce.
We called customer service number and got an answering machine with Becky's message that said she would return the call and never did.
No responce from Hobbytron. After reading all the legalese on their invoice Hobbytron stated they are not responable for defective merchandise and to call the original manufactuer. Hobby Tron has not returned our call to find out who the manufacturer is or any way to contact them.
All of the leaglese on their invoice should be a warning as to their practices and I am under the impression that all of their items are pre-damaged

and they know it. Please make your purchases from a reputable company that supports the products that they sell - not Hobbytron.

Hi All I made a big mistake by not checking Hobbytron backround before I purchased anything from them, had I known there were alot of complaints I would have not bought anything from this company. I bought a new Airsoft gun and 4 bags of 5,000 round BB's After 3 weeks which I think is way to long for shipping I finally received the items that I thought I ordered, first of all when I opened the box with the BB's they sent me 15 of the little bottles to equal 20,000 BB's thats why I didnt order little bottles I wanted the 4 bags that came to 20,000 BB's also when I opened up the Airsoft gun box and took it out of the box I noticed broken pieces not a big deal a little super glue and it was fixed then my son was shooting the Airsoft gun for a half hour and one of the magazines broke so I called them to get a replacement magazine it took me over three days calling and calling them each day today I finally got through and was placed on hold of course after a few minutes they picked back up and I told them what was wrong and they told me to buy a new magazine from there website (which it was not in stock so I couldnt anyway) so I mentioned about it being under warranty and the said yes BUT I would have to ship the whole gun back at my exspence and once they recieved it it would take up to 3 weeks for them to fix it and then it would take 2-3 weeks to get it back they also said just go to a place around my area to buy a new magazine because it would be alot cheaper that way needless to say I will never buy anything from this company again. I never dealt with such a poor company in my life a wasn't going to write a complaint but I hope this will save someone else the hassle dealing with them, and if you dealt with them before and got the run around PLEASE take a few moments to write a complaint.

Purchased an Air Soft rifle for my son (Money that he had spent months saving up for.) When the product arrived it was not working properly out of the box. I contacted then via E-mail to get a RMA#. received that information from then just fine.

Sent the rifle back to them with all of the instructions followed very carefully. Now it has been 1 month ago since the package was delivered to them and I cannot contact them. They wont return my e-mails and they wont return my phone calls. I'm not sure what to do now. Call the Better Business Bureau I guess.

My son is in tears every night because the money that he saved so long for is just gone, and he doesn't have the toy he so much wanted also. Makes me sad that some businesses are run like this. Especially one that sells toys so there are children involved

I ordered airsoft guns in December as gifts. the guns did not come before Christmas and Hobbytron's customer service center was shut down. In January, I began again trying to contact Hobbytron by email and phone. I finally got someone on the phone who told me they would have to have the order tracked with UPS and I would get my refund once UPS completed the tracking form. This happend in about 4 weeks but it has now been 4 months and I still do not have my money back. Since that time, I have continued to send emails, contact Hobbytron through their web site contact us and by phone. With all the times I have contacted them (I have lost count) I have not received my refund.

$82.97. Additionally, I have spent a lot of time trying to get my refund, additionally they have had my money since December 12th-I feel I should be compensated for my time and their use of my money.

My son received an electric remote control boat for Christmas. When the boat was delivered to the friend that purchased it for him, it wasn't the same boat or color ordered. The actual cost with shipping was $189.00. We dealt with the change in boats and colors, but when we took it out of the box, the propeller is broken. We have tried contacting Hobbytron via e-mail, and phone calls for the last two months. They do not respond to any type of correspondance at all.

I'm very disappointed with the fact that my son received this as a gift (and a very pricey one at that), and he cannot use it because it was broken when we received it, and was not the originally purchased boat to begin with, it is an entirely different product. Their customer service stinks!!!! They won't even respond.

My son is unable to use his Christmas present.

I ordered an airsoft gun early Feb. The money (over $400) came out of my bank account immediately. After several weeks we checked the status and it was backordered. After 2 more weeks I called and asked for a refund. The next day the order had been cancelled but the money still has not been returned. I have called daily and also hear the 'voice mail box is full' message. Today (3.25.09) out of the blue, someone answered and said that a coworker had stolen funds and they were not able to refund my money! They said the best I could do was notify my bank. We have dealt with this company in the past and I am very disappointed that it took this ugly turn.

I am out 800.00 now because I ordered the gun for someone else. They trusted me enough to give me the cash and I ordered through this company as I have in the past in good faith. Since the company failed to provide the product, or return the money, I felt it my place to return the money to my friend meaning I am actually out 400.00 now. Hobbytron would not respond to my emails or my messages. I couldn't believe someone answered the phone today only to tell me TOUGH LUCK! I'm shocked and have reported them to VISA.

Purchaed product via internet, charge my debit card (wrong move on my part)and never sent the product. Do not respons to calls or emails. It has been over 3 months. They are basically thiefs

$107 stolen

i ordered a rc plane on feb 2 and i have never gotten it they keep saying that it is on back order in my e mail when i call. they say they will be open after the holidays on jan 2.. im starting to get worried.. my purchase price was 95.95

i might be out 95 dollars

On 12 Dec 08, I purchased an RC Car through Hobbytron.com for $219. I received the car on 22 Dec 08. The car was damaged during shipment due to inadequate packaging, and was a different car than ordered. After I opened the box and noticed the lack of packaging materials, I began taking pictures of the items inside. In accordance with the instructions contained in the packaging, if the package was damaged during shipping, I was to write refused due to shipping damage on the box and return it within 24hrs. I sealed the box (after taking pictures), wrote refused due to shipping damage on the box, and returned it to the shipper (UPS in this case). The UPS store stated they do not take return packages, and I would have to call their 800 number to arrange pick-up for return shipping.

I called UPS and was told, by UPS, that if the package was damaged during shipping, the person filing the claim needed to start the claims process, and then UPS would arrange pick-up and return delivery of the package. I attempted to contact Hobbytron through telephone and e-mail repeatedly. I was finally able to contact them through online chat. I was then told by Hobbytron I needed to request an RMA to be able to return the RC Car. I submitted the RMA request online as instructed on 22 Dec 08.

I did not receive the RMA until 2 Jan 09. Once received, I completed the RMA process online as instructed (requesting an exchange or refund) and shipped the RC Car back to Hobbytron on 5 Jan 09 through UPS. Hobbytron received the package on 12 Jan 09 (Online tracking). I began attempting to contact Hobbytron on 26 Jan 09 to find out the status of my exchange/refund. In eight attempts, I was able to make contact once and was hung up on when put on hold. Additional e-mails were sent requesting status with no response until 5 Feb 09. The 5 Feb 09 e-mail stated it took on to two weeks to process returns, and had no additional information. I followed this e-mail with an additional e-mail because it had been over 2 weeks since Hobbytron had received the package with no response. Additionally, I submitted a complain through the Better Business Bureau.

On 19 Feb 09, I received and e-mail that I was given a $203.47 in-store credit that had to be used within 6 months. I again contacted Hobbytron, and they told me their policy did not allow them to issue a refund and they deducted $11.53 in fees from the $219 I paid as a result of the return. I have reviewed their policy and it does not contain the aforementioned provision. Additionally, while on the phone, I stated I did not want to do any further business with Hobbytron, I wanted my refund. When Hobbytron refused because of Policy, I contacted my bank to file a charge dispute. The bank was unable to assist because, as luck would have it, I was 5 days late. The bank could only accomplish the dispute within 60 days. Following this, I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision.

The RC Car was for a Christmas Gift for my 16 yr old son. I have been denied the ability to provide the purchased item or replacement item for my son due to Hobbytron's apparant refusal to exchange or refund the money I spent for the ordered product. Additionally, I believe Hobbytron is fraudulently advertising products they do not sell as a result of their inability to provide a replacement to the item I ordered within the 2 month timeframe since the order.

Bought a 65.00 dollar helicopter and it doesnt work and cant get a refund, phone keeps saying mailbox is full.

Very dissapointed Grandson.

I had ordered a remote controlled plane for a christmas gift on December 20,2008. They said that shipping would take 2-5 days. On January 7, 2009, after repeatedly calling over and over they said that it would not be delivered until January 14, 2009. They offered no explanation for the delay and made no effort to contact me with information regarding why my order would take nearly a month. I have researched many other similar complaints on the internet.

No gift anywhere near Christmas. They had my money for 3 weeks, I would have had another 2 pay periods to buy something else

I purchased an Airsoft rifle for my sons birthday. When he opened the box we found the battery would not take a charge. I requested a replacement. I was sent the wrong one as a replacement, so I had an electrical engineer solder the connections so we could use the toy. After the batteries where charged, the toy would still not work. I found that wires where not connected, so I connected them, and the toy worked for one cycle then stopped. I contacted Hobbytron for a returns authorization. After 6 days and 2 additional calls, I finally recieved an RMA. I sent the toy back at my expense.

The Toy was recieved by them on 4/29/08 at 9:51. I spoke to Linda who said they could not find it, but that I should call back as it would take them 1 to 3 days to fix it once they found it. I called back on 5/5 and was told that it would take them 1 to 3 days to fix the toy. I said I had already been told that. She gave me excuses about how they had inventory and then that the repair guy was out sick. Finally on 5/7 I called back and was told that the toy had been repaired, and that it was an adjustment of the motor, and that it was being sent back. I recieved the toy back on saturday 5/10. the toy worked for a couple of hours. The toy started failing sporadically on Sunday and eventually stopped working altogether.

I called Monday 5/12 with the intention of speaking to someone who could walk me throught the adjustment process rather than A)send it back again at my expense and waiting time and B) save them the labor. I spoke with Thad who said he would have the repair guy call me. I also talk to Thad about the replacement battery and he said that I should get an RMA and they would take care of it sending the correct battery. I did request the RMA. I also waited throughout the day and did not recieve a call from The repair guy. I called back at 4:15 and spoke to Thad again, he said he sent the repair guy an email while I was on the phone with him, and that the repair guy respond instantly, with the response that he would call me.

On 5/13 Irecieved an email that my RMA for the replacement battery was being declined as they don't carry replacement batteries and I should contact a retailer who carries batteries and buy one. I re-requested an RMA saying that there response was not acceptable. I called back again on 5/13 at 10:05 my time after they opened, and asked to speak to the repair guy and a lady said that he left early and would get to me eventually. I told her I was losing my patience with this toy, there poor response time, poor customer service and that I would like my money back. She told me that they would not do that and I would have to just wait till they could get to me.

I have a non operable toy that cost $139.00, plus accessories that cost approximatly $70. I spent $12 for shipping. I also have a non fuctional battery with a value of $30, they will not replace. If I replace the battery at my cost, I will also have to replace the battery charger at a cost of $30. The real damage is, that this was agift for my son's birthday. He was to have a party in which he and his friends would play with airsoft rifles. Because the toy did not work we had to cancel my sons party.

It has been a month and a half. My son has not had a party of any kind, and he doesn't have a working toy. The time I have spent with Hobbytron, between phone calls, emails and mailings comes to 6 hours so far. my time is worth $32.29 per hour or a cost of $193.74

We ordered a PiccoZ mini remote control Helicopter for our son's Christmas gift and it did not work ever. We have tried numerous times through email and phone to set up an exchange and have been completely ignored. I have since read and heard other scamming complaints on this very company, from fake PiccoZ's to products never sent, to the same complaint as my own. They should not be allowed to continue business if this is a common problem. Something needs to be done to protect the consumers! It was not a cheap toy!!

My Childs disappointment at the thought of a total loss on the toy he was so excited for, as well as the excessive amount of time we have spent trying to contact the company, and the finacial loss.

I purchased some remote control items such as a helicopter and boat. Neither of the items worked upon initial inspection. They were defective and of the lowest quality. When I called for return authorization, I was told that I could not return it because the package was opened. I was told that if I returned the items and disputed with my Credit card company, they would re-bill the purchase price and add an additional $50.00. I believe that this is unethical and possibly illegal. I believe that it is my right to dispute a misrepresented purchase. I simply wanted a nice toy for my son.

Although the item looked nice on the website, I was amazed to receive a non-working item that was actually made from 2 pieces of styrofoam held together with scotch tape.

I was told that If I return the order it would not be accepted or refunded. I was also told that if I disputed it, they would re-bill the purchase price plus add $50.00. I returned the order anyway and disputed it with my credit card. No settlement has been reached at this time. I am out my original purchase price as well as return shipping totalling approximately $150.00
