Drugstore.com

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

You lost a customer today. On 1/7/12, I made an online purchase through DrugStore.com for $32.50. Today, I discovered a $14.00 charge on my credit card statement from a company named ShopperDiscount.com. When I was finalizing my purchase with DrugStore.com, an offer for a $10 coupon off my next purchase at DrugStore.com popped on to my screen. Of course, I would like $10 off my next purchase at DrugStore.com. Who wouldn't? Of course, I'm completing a purchase on DrugStore.com's secure website, so I have no reason to believe a reputable company would be sending me to a third-party website that's in the business of scamming people out of $14 a month. By clicking yes to the coupon offer, I have now been signed up for a coupon scam. Your company sent me to this third-party website while I was completing a secure transaction with you.

This is a really douchey business practice. Obviously, DrugStore.com has something to gain from being affiliated with the fraudsters at ShopperDiscount.com. Now, I've wasted an hour of my time on the phone with Discover Card, ShopperDiscount.com and one of your reps in Salt Lake City because you linked me to a third-party scam while I was completing a secure transaction on your website. I won't be doing anymore business with your company.

This company sent me emails starting several months ago until yesterday. They said they could beat the prices of CVS and Walgreen (not so).

They also offer tempting promos to encourage buyers to spend a certain amount. In the three or four times I've ordered, never have I received their promos like free shipping, tote bag worth of $45 dollars of 'green' samples etc.

I ordered Vaseline intensive lip balm on Nov. 9, 2010 via the drugstore.com website. They charged my credit card $9.97 for the product plus shipping and handling. The product never arrived. I received an email from drugstore.com on December 8, 2010 which said they would refund me $3.98 for the product which was never shipped, but they did not refund the $5.99 for the shipping and handling. I was scammed out of $5.99. If they do this with just 1000 people, they will have stolen $5,990! I want everyone to know what a rip-off this website is.

On 9/14/20, I set up online order for medication for cat. Have already done this in the past with drugstore.com and each time I have a problem but price is cheap. Website indicates they will contact dr to verify and get authorization on night of 9/20/10. I call to find out what problem is because no action on order other than confirmation that they received order on 9/14. They show no contact from doctor- nor do they show that they tried to contact the doctor at all. Agent tells me she will turn problem over to person or team that handles these problems. At 6am/21 September, they send me email stating that prescription has no refills left. Huh? This is a new script!

I checked with vet and they had called "special number" I had been given for problem team and were told that they are not to call. They have to fax in info-and a fax number is given to them. I called 800-378-4786 to check and I get told that they do not have a fax number. I wait a while, check account and still nothing. I check website and there is a fax number for prescriptions. Called vet again and this is a different number than the one they had been given. I gave them the one listed online- wait a while and call drugstore.com again. nothing done on their end. I asked for someone higher up and get told that "a supervisor" will call me back but there is no time span listed for if/when this "supervisor" will call.

Needless to say, it will be weeks before getting the med even though the evening, agent last night assured me that this would be taken care of and the pills overnight to me at no extra expense. The bottom line is that, 1. they are incredibly stupid, 2. they are incredibly nasty and 3. they are both stupid and nasty take your pick.

We ordered a Delonghi 13,000 BTU. The company that they get the air conditioner from was out of stock. So, they cancelled the order. They told us 2 different times that they would not charge our account and they did. I don't know about you but that is really shoddy business when they tell you they are not going to charge your account. 570.98 is a lot of money to do with out.

There response is, it will be back in your account in a couple of days. In the mean time I'm out the money, and can't order another one from a different company. Beware when ordering from them, and using your debit card, are charge. Don't do business with them.

I have just wasted a load of time getting together an order to qualify for free shipping, finding the qualification for free shipping confirmed along the way to check-out, and then finding a hefty shipping charge when I finally reached check-out. It is only when clicking "free shipping" before checkout [or after backtracking to the page after seeing the shipping charge] that I get a "sorry" message telling me that I do not in fact qualify for free shipping because I am not a new customer. Well, I can assure you I will no longer be a customer, period! Yes, I know there is an alert on one of your pages that this offer is available only to first-time customers but that alert is in hard-to-read super-tiny grey print.

[Note: a screen shot of the page with that note was included in the email to drugstore.com, but could not be pasted here for some reason. ]

Some customers may be forgiving and/or feel they do not want all the time. They have spent at the site going down the drain and will complete the sale anyway but I am not one of them.

I purchased 2 ladies' shavers. Opened one of the packages, the head would not stay on, in fact it came off while trying to use it; flipping off when pressure applied to shave legs. I did not open the other package. Sent both back for refund, and was denied refund because one was open...how would it be known it didn't work if not opened....
refuse to contact me back on the defective shaver

did receive refund for the unopened package

the cost of the second shaver should have been refunded as defective merchandise

I ordered an advertised special for a canister vacuum, model MO82700 By dirt devil. I called to verify the model number two times and was told it was this model MO82700. The one I received on 11/20/2008 was one of lesser value, model MO82660. I called them and they assured me they would correct the problem and send me the correct one, Model MO82700; The one advertised on their web site. They again sent me the one of lesser value on 12/1/2008. I feel this was false advertising. One time would be an accident, but two times is a fraud.

They are going to credit my credit card and arrange for both vacuums to be picked up by UPS. I have been waiting for them to contact me regarding the first one since 12/20/2008. No one has contacted me. I was told not to do anything until I was contacted. Hopefully I can just return these Items. This vacuume was to be a gift. This was a fradulent advertisement switched for one of lesser value.

I have been using Neutorgena products for some time including antiwrinkle intensive treatment, SPF 20. I go to web site and it sends me to Drugstore.com. They do not have product. The same is true for other neutorgena products I have used in the past. A company that is supposed to be for informed and quality oriented users should have reliable sources to find their products. I am not impressed by their marketing or sales.

I want to use Neutrogena products but I can't find a reliable place to buy them. Should I switch to another brand?

On 4/7/06, my visa debit card was charged $56.47 for a purchase I made on drugstore.com. I never received my order. On 4/19/06, I emailed them stating that I never received my order and I wanted a refund. I have been emailing them back and forth before this date because I was inquiring as to why to delivery was taking so long. It usually takes just a few days to receive an order via usps.

They claimed to have credited my account on 4/20/06. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I waited 2 days. I checked my online bank statement again and still...no refund. Keep in mind that wells fargo online banking is very up to date and I can view purchases that I made within 1 hour. I could view the original purchase of $56.47 on 4/7/06, but no refund. I just checked again 1 hour ago and still...no refund. They are insisting that they credited me, but they didn't! I even emailed them my bank institution name and phone number so they could verify the credit, but I have yet to see my refund. I need your help to help these people move faster with this.

I am short $56.47.

Went to Amazon to order Rogaine - pushed to Drugstore.com - received quickly a cheap bottle of underarm deoderant and no Rogaine. Shipped it back.

I have lost the use of 50+ dollars. I suspect this is a systematic approach to money management (probably advised by recent partner AOL). By delaying my order, Amazon or Drugstore get to use my $55+ as a float. Fraud.
