Much like the previous complaints (which I didnt check out prior to purchasing) this company is soooo no good. Placed an order for a Canon sx20is for 314. Should have been suspicious because this was about 60 less than anyone else. Anyway used my debit card to pay. They called the next day to get the 3 digit code on the back and said he would ship it right out. Then started in on the whole thing about how it doesnt come with batteries how I would want an additional memory card etc. I politely said I wasnt interested and he hung up. That was on Jan 26th.

I have been eagerly anticipating its arrival but after a couple of days I hadnt recieved the tracking information so I contacted the "company" by email. 5 times in one day to be exact~no reply and on their website it says my order is backordered~and as soon as it is processed (prior to letting me know it was backordered) no revisions can be made on the order.

Today Feb 9th I contacted my bank and thank goodness they hadnt authorized the order yet so I was able to cancel my card and not be out the money. The lady at the bank did tell me once it is authorized you are "hosed" STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY~they are no good.

Ordered a Canon HFS11 because of the low price, only to find out it does not come with a battery nor an AC adapter to charge it. I have to accept responsibility for this, because, on their website, if you click on "Item Includes," you will notice that the battery and AC adapter are not included. But, I have to wonder how it is that they can sell it like that. How is it that they can alter the original contents that Canon ships with the camcorder? Is it legal for them to do so? If not illegal, it's unethical at best. Then, they force you to call and confirm your order. One of the reasons I order online is so that I don't have to speak to salespeople. Then, a sales person gets on the phone and informs you of the battery and additional fee of 149 or 199.

Placed my order on 12-12-09(Saturday). Now on 12-15-09 (Tuesday), at 2:50pm, my order still has not shipped. I called and pressed the number for customer service. Have a timer on my phone, and timed it for exactly 17 minutes before hanging up because no one ever answered. I could not get an answer as to when my product will ship. Out of curiosity, I called back and pressed the number for sales. Somone answered at the 28 second mark (about 25 seconds of that was for the automated greeting). I hung up without speaking to that person.

Very troubling business practices. I called them to see if they had the desired camera being advertised on their site in stock. They were showing a Canon EOS 7D for 1299 which is a good price; sure enough, their phone salesperson says that the have it "IN STOCK", so I placed my order. I will note that at this time, I also received the same high pressure sales tactics that they other complaints on this site are reporting for Delta Cameras ("battery is only good for 20 minutes - I should get a better one", "memory stick has slow 7 second delay between photos - I should upgrade", etc).

I called back a couple of days later, and now they say "the camera is backordered - 1 to 3 weeks". I asked how that happened, since their having it in stock was a pre-condition of my purchase. They said "maybe our computer system wasn't updated yet from the warehouse". Hmm, things are starting to sound suspicious.

So I waited a week and called them back to see if my camera had shipped. But rather than giving them my order number, I simply asked "Do you have the EOS 7D in stock?", they said YES. I said, "GOOD - then have you shipped mine out yet?" (gave them my order number). The sales guy then says "OH! I thought you asked 'Do you have a Nikon Seventy in stock', no we don't have any EOS 7D's in stock yet". Honest mistake, or did I bust them in another bait and switch? You be the judge of whether "EOS 7D" sounds like "Nikon 70" and decide for yourself whether they are being honest or not.

All of this made me very suspicious, so I called back to cancel my order. I just hope they will give me the full credit back, after reading the other complaints here about Delta Camera and the way they charge a restocking fee for any kind of cancellations. Since it never even shipped, I better not see a charge on my credit card or I will escalate with the BBB and Attorney General for their Brooklyn New York area.

I can certainly see what the other customers of Delta Cameras are saying in their complaints about "Bait and Switch Backordering" practices. I would also note that their sales people came across as rude; no 'please' or 'thank you' and in the 5 or so phone calls to them - I never once got a 'good bye' - I just got a 'click' denoting that they had hung-up their phone. I run a web based business myself and would NEVER treat customers like that, and I would have had serious issues if any of my phone support people treated customers the way Delta Cameras talks to their customers.

NOTE: The Whois Record for the DeltaCamera.com web address shows-up under the Registrant of "Chama S" (I'm assuming that he is the owner of the company)

Also, this page shows more problems for Delta Camera and has them also doing business as a bunch of other assumed business names and identities. Also shows photo of a possible false store front for them: donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/h0207.htm

Recently my girlfriend ordered me a camera from Deltacamera.com. She thought she was doing the right thing by finding the best deal on the internet to save some money. Unfortunately, she did not do the research on this company before she made her purchase. Lesson learned - but here is our story: She ordered the camera on October 25th online with her debit card for 167.00. On the 26th, she received a phone call from deltacamera.com while she was at work. The sales associate on the phone told her that the battery for the camera was not included in the original purchase, and that she must purchase it for 100.00 extra.

My sweet little girlfriend, busy at work and unaccustomed to unfair business practices fell for it and agreed over the phone. So at this point, we were in 267.00 for the camera when the original invoice was for 167.00. 3 days later on October 29th the camera arrives just in time for my birthday. At first glance I was impressed by my girlfriend's camera choice and I thanked her. Upon closer inspection; we realized the camera was used. The battery was completely fried, with black burnt area around the base, and the camera had scratches on it.

So, not only had this company bait and switched us with the price, they had sent us a used camera in place of a new one. So after I got the story from my girlfriend, I was obviously upset and got in contact with the company. They told us we could send the camera back at our cost (15.00 or so to NY), plus a 15% re-stocking fee (40.20 on a 268.00 purchase). I said no to that right away as we would be out 55.00 with nothing to show for it. They also said they could send me a new battery. I agreed to this as I am thinking if the camera works we might just treat this as a learning lesson and move on. We haven't received the battery yet and it is 11/8. We aren't really expecting it to come. Either way these guys are scammers, and I would stay away from them. I don't expect them to be in business much longer. I just can't believe people can get away with shenanigans like this. I have opened a dispute with Bank of America to try to get our money back. Hopefully that works out. If anyone has advice for legal recourse I would much appreciate it.

I ordered a Mitsubishi HC6800 projector for just under 2,100, and a Elite R120wh1 screen for 350. When I called to "confirm" the order, I was told that the projector came with a "50 hour" bulb, and that if I wanted the "4,000 hour" bulb, it would be more. In the end, I paid 2,650 for that projector. Thinking that as a package, I was at least no worse than with other dealers, I kept with the order. The projector came, but no screen. When I called about the screen, it was no longer available, but that they had a different one for 150 more. As for the bulb, I called Mitsubishi directly, and was told that the OEM bulb (VLT-HC6800LP) was the only bulb made for that projector, and it was rated for 4.000 hours. These people are dishonest.

I ordered a Garmin nuvi 5000 (GPS) in 8/4/09 and it doesn't ship out until today (8/10/09). I called the company and talked with a representative. He simply asked my order number and name and then another representative asked the same questions after 10 minutes. He said no items are available this time and they placed backorder and it will take 2 or 3 more weeks.

I am angry because I have asked the availability and quality of the product before placing my order. Also after the call, the GPS is still on the sale's list. They should leave a message that it is temporary unavailable or remove the statement they usually ship an item within 24-48 business hours. No one may expect receive an item 3 or 4 weeks after placing an order.

Jeffrey of Ridgewood, NJ July 27, 2009

Ordered a Canon SD990 camera online on 7/15. I was called directly after the order was placed and pressured to buy a 4GB memory card for 129. I said I was not sure and wanted to think about it. I was then quoted a price of 69 for the same memory card and said no. I subsequently found out that a memory cards of this type can be purchased for less than 40.

Upon not agreeing to buy the memory card from Delta camera, they told me the camera I ordered was on back order and would not be available for several weeks. Delta Camera advertised this camera for 224. It appears however to be a scam in order to get online purchasers to buy other products for significantly inflated prices.
