David of Gaithersburg, MD June 2, 2009

On 2/14/2009 i went to their website and made a 60.74 purchase for assorted items with my bank card. The items arrived several days later and i naturally tried them on. The two pairs of trousers could not fit (too small) and the two jackets were several sizes too big.The T-Shirt did not fit either. The only item that fit were the pair of socks which i decided to keep but decided to send everthing else back. There is no customer service number on the website to contact a live representative of the company to try and get issues resolved.

So i got concerned and used the online contact form to post a complaint. They replied saying that they had sent me an RMA number to put on the return merchandise shipment. I packed the stuff in the original box they shipped in and sent them back with specific reasons as to why i was returning them. That was on 2/16/2009. Since then, they have refused to refund my 55 dollars even though they indicate that i should wait for the money to post on my account.

I have been waiting since February 2009. It is now June 2009 and still i have not recieved the 55 refund from them. I have emailed them and all i get is cursory reply that i should wait for the money to post on my account. To this day, i have Never seen the 55 dollars refund from classiccloseout. The bank has not seen it either.

I threatened to file a complaint with the FCC, FTC and BBB but this did not faze them. Finally i did so last month. But that did little to change anything. To this day i have not seen my refund. How is a bogus company such as this, allowed to operate with impunity? Now i know what their bogus claim "We've proudly saved smart shoppers 170,888, 144.12 since May 2000! means" My 55 refund is part of that claim! They robbed me and other customers.

This is a fraudulent business.I wonder why they are allowed to keep their business license and host a website to continue duping customers of their money? On 2/14/2009 i went to their website http://www.classiccloseouts.com and made a 60.74 purchase for assorted items with my bank card. The items arrived several days later and i naturally tried them on.The two pairs of trousers could not fit(too small)and the two jackets were several sizes too big.The T-Shirt did not fit either.

ON the website, they make it appear so though the money was credited to my CC but this did not actually happen.

I ordered a pair of panties (lol) from them on 3/5/2007 and was sent an email on 3/6/2007 saying it shipped. On 3/22 I contacted them because I never received it via UPS! I got a reply saying they were going to track the package and file it as lost status. I sent another complaint via email and they said Thank you for your recent inquiry. Our credits department is still looking into the matter. I apologize for any delay, a credit will be issued as soon as possible. - Frantz No wonder the shipping was FREE, because you NEVER get the package or a refund!

I asked for the item to be shipped again, I asked for a refund. It's been over 2 years and still nothing.

I was reconciling my statements against MS Money and discovered the charges. I bought clothes from them on 11/13/05 and returned 2 pairs of jeans on 11/25/09; I was not credited the return until 4/11/06!! That was my last time shopping w/them.

On my July 2008 statement is a charge of 69.99 on 7/23, then on 8/11 AND 8/22 there are charges for 79.99!! That's around 230 + interest! I checked online, found TONS of sites w/these complaints, and immediately called the credit card company; I told them what I found on a Google search; they offered to change the account number if I wanted to; while a hassle, I definitely agreed. What's a few weeks of not using the card (and believe me, we use it!) for peace of mind that this company won't take me for anymore money!

Joletta of Austin, TX January 30, 2009

August 11, 2008 ClassicCloseouts.Com illegally charged my MasterCard in the amount of 59.99 and on August 20, 2008 they again illegally charged my MasterCard for 69.99. Without a doubt, these charges DO NOT belong to me or anyone in my household.

On December 16 and December 17, respectively, I rteceived letters from CitiBank that included documentation from ClassicCloseouts.Com in which they state that I had enrolled in their Frequent Shopper Club. This is completely FALSE. I have never signed up for such a membership. They also mentioned that I could have signed up under ThirdFree.com? and I most certainly did not. In fact, isnt it odd that ClassicCloseouts.Com is claiming that BOTH of their illegal charges were for membership enrollment? Tell me, why would I sign up for a membership twice??!! Also, can they produce an email (with my email address!) showing that I signed up? They cannot because I never signed up. Ive never even seen an email from them with this type of offer!

Just to give you a little history, I was diagnosed with breast cancer the end of 2004. In January 2005 I underwent chemotherapy which lasted for 5 months. Upon losing all of my hair due to chemotherapy, one of the chemo patients at my Oncologists office recommended that I buy warm, cheap hats from ClassicCloseouts.Com. That is the ONLY time I have ever ordered from this company. That was in 2005! I am upset that ClassicCloseouts.Com has retained my MasterCard number all this time and now they are falsely trying to charge me on three occasions. This is just not right!

Rajni of Jamaica, NY January 16, 2009

In July and August, 2008, this company put fraudulant charges on my credit card for 69.99 and 69.99 saying I had signed up by email via their invitation. I disputed the charges with my credit card company, and my company sent me a letter to send the written response, but I received the letter late and the company did not receive my response on time. Therefore, they did not reverse my charges. Now when I called the company back, they told me that under visa rules and regulations, they cannot dispute the same charges again. I have to talk to the consumer. This consumer does not pick up the phone at all. Only one time one person in the name of Samar picked up the phone and said that the manager will call me. But no body get back to me. This is fraudulant company.

ClassiccloseOuts.com is saying they are legitimate charges and my credit card company is applying these charges back to my credit card. I never authorized this company to charge my credit card. I have attempted to call this company, only to reach an answering machine, I have left my number for them to call me back and no response from them. My credit card company sent me the paperwork that was sent by this company trying to validate these charges. Their letter has no return address, no phone numbers, and numerous misspelled words. Not something a legitimate company would be doing. I do not like having to constantly dispute these charges. something should be done to this company. these charges have been reapplied to my credit card. I closed out the original card and now I have to dispute the charges again.

I was charged on my Visa debit 50.08 on 12/4 although I did not order anything from them. I did have an order 8/27/08 for 50.08 which they were paid. When I called, I kept getting leave a message. when I attempted the email function on website, no one responded. I finally talked to someone named Samar on 12/5 and he told me that I was right since there wasn't an order and it must be a computer glitch or a new employee put it as auto debit. He said he couldn't refund but a supervisor would call me.

one has and I have called 8 more times and emailed 6 more times. No response. My bank says I have to wait 30 days to dispute so meanwhile I am out 50.08. I am cancelling my debit card as I fear they will continue to use that info to take money from my account. Not only did they take it but it originated from Great Britain and I was charged a 40 cent international fee. I am so upset at this company for being so unprofessional and have read all the other problems customers have experienced. Thank you for listening.

Hengtong of Miami, FL December 9, 2008

I met the exactly same issue. In August and September, 2008, this company put fraudulant charges on my credit card for 79.99 and 59.99 saying I had signed up by email via their invitation. I disputed the charges with my credit card company, and the charges were reversed. ClassicCloseOuts.com is saying they are legitimate charges and my credit card company is applying these charges back to my credit card.

I never authorized this company to charge my credit card. I have attempted to call this company, the guy who answered just transfer me to an answer machine.

The dispute department of my C.C. refused to credit back, I just have no idea what can I do for this trouble.

ClassicCloseOuts.com is saying they are legitimate charges.

I never authorized this company to charge my credit card. I have attempted to call this company several times, only to reach an answering machine. Each time I have left my number for them to call me back and no response from them. It is impossible to speak with anyone in this company, they do not answer phones,e-mails or anything else.

My credit card company sent me a letter from ClassicCloseouts/Thirdfree trying to validate these charges. stating that I had signed up via email for some kind of membership. This is completely false. I have never signed up for any membership that comes to me unsolicited.

Their letter has no return address, no phone numbers, and numerous misspelled words. Not something a legitimate company would be doing. I do not like having to constantly dispute these charges. something should be done to this company.

What angers me is that I had to close out my original card because of the continuination of the fraudulent charges. But now I have to dispute the charges again on my new card.

This is time consuming to deal with these dishonest people. Time wasted trying to contact these people to resolve the issue.
