My brother James and I are being sued for approximately $ 14,593.11 we have hired an attorney at this point and our a court date is pending. Our response was submitted to the court on August 25, 2009

We had my uncle's power of attorney for his medical decisions only. No one ever was in charge of his finances. I helped him the last few years paying his bills. He was never married. No children. He came to live with us about 6 - 7 years ago.

We were repeatly told wrong nformation by the Jennifer at the South Mountain Rehab center. I think they were trying to see how much money they could get. Between payments from Jack and his insurance. The part we consider fraud is when I was given a

bill for $ 8000.00 in early June and was told to tell Medicaid I had paid the South Mountain center. Knowing that the bill would be paid by his 2 insurance coverages. He had MEDICARE & UNITED HEALTH CARE.

I have spend a great deal of time comparing the bill of $ 12,356.61 against the UHC web site and I show.
errors on the bills for May, June, July. Which I have brought to the attention of both the South Mountain Rehab center and their lawyer. My Uncle was there from March 1

until he died July 27.

May was submitted at 65% not 100% and the amount paid to them. I can't figure out what % it is. June there is supose to be a discount of
$ 4,673.20 from UHC. We were told to make John qualify for Medicaid to pay down his money. Basically to show what he spent his money on. I did that. There were more bills than there was money. So I itemized what was spent where. Here is why he did not gualify for the Medicaid. Jennifer told me to have the checks filled out and make copies, but not to cash them.
Which is what I did. I have a bunch of check Jack wrote that were never cashed. Also is July he was on Hospice for the last week or so, which was covered by his insurance, but never submitted correctly. Also there was a week he was in the hospital not at South Mountain. What was agreed to be paid was that South Mountain was to receive his June and July SS checks. And his July pension.

Which was sent to them. I have sent detailed copies to South Mountain and their lawyer.

I have also written to Medicare, Medicaid, Union County Attorney General, 7 on your side, Help me Howard, UHC trying to get someone to help resolve this mess.

I would like to know if there is anyone else having this problem with South Mountain. I find it hard to believe a year later that no one has taken the time to really look at this

and get it fixed.
