Halloween treats without tricks? Not always a sure thing. Here are a few tips:

For starters, dress our kid right. Avoid costume contact lenses and even masks if you can get away with it with your children. If your child insists upon a mask, make sure it is well ventilated and easy to see out of.

Make sure all of your Halloween costumes are made of flame-resistant materials and they fit correctly so your child does not trip

You ought to have easy-to-see, light colors or costumes that use reflecting tape.

Make sure swords and other accessories are made from soft materials and have dull edges.

Finally, be sure to trick or treat according to the rules. Walk in a group with an adult chaperone. Stay on the sidewalks. Obey traffic signs and carry a flashlight.

Don’t trick or treat at unfamiliar homes and tell your child not to take treats from strangers.

If at all possible, trick or treat at community events or go to a Halloween party.

Finally, check all of the candy your child collects before anyone eats it. Avoid candy not in its original wrapper.
