Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix & Corolla Recalled

Toyota and General Motors are recalling more than 660,000 2003 to 2004 Toyota Matrixes, Corollas and Pontiac Vibes to repair a front passenger window.

The driver and front passenger door glass bolts may loosen, causing the door glass to separate from the window regulator.

The recall involves almost 540,000 Toyota Matrixes and Corollas and nearly 123,000 Pontiac Vibes. GM builds the Vibe as part of a joint venture with Toyota.

Toyota and Pontiac dealers will replace bolts that hold driver and front passenger door glass in vehicles equipped with power windows.

Consumers have reported the bolts can loosen and detach.

Federal safety regulators and the automakers have received more than 500 reports and complaints about the windows. Toyota said there has been one minor accident and 15 injuries directly related to the defect.

Toyota said the condition will cause an "abnormal noise" to occur when the power windows are operated. Toyota will notify owners of involved vehicles in late April.

Part replacement will be done at no cost to the consumers.
